I was greeted when I walked in and was thanked for my business on the way out so you get 2 stars for that however the diet Dr. Pepper I drank had the absolute worst flavor. When I looked for an expiration date it said it expired in August of 2015. I made this purchase in October of 2018. Nice folks here but the drinks, not so much. ***Updating my review*** That was not the expiration date apparently. I had another diet Dr. Pepper from a different store completely and it tasted the same as the terrible one from Zoom Zooms. I read the printed numbers from the bottle cap and based on the format it doesn't appear to be an expiration date. I guess I no longer care for the flavor of diet Dr. Pepper or they have changed their formula.

I used to live in Denton but never stepped into Howdy Doody once until last year. My Wife and I…read moretook a road trip that thankfully took us through Denton on our way back to Denver, CO. We really wanted to buy as much craft beer as we could find and Howdy Doody did not disappoint. Why and how did we end up there? We called ahead and ordered a few meals from Mr. Chopsticks so we could eat on when we got home the next day. After we went through the drive thru, we parked and walked over to Howdy Doody to check out their selection. For a small store, their selection of craft beer is amazing!!! Definitely wasn't expecting the amount that they had! We checked out the "craft beer" store near UNT and their selection was disappointing in comparison. If you want craft beer, go to Howdy Doody!

Howdy Doody is a pretty rad convenience store (sans gas pumps) in our neighborhood. They have craft…read moreand local beers in cans and bottles, and a pretty great selection, too. Their beer prices are kind of high - for craft can 6 packs, we usually pay $10. That said, the prices are pretty comparable to the beer prices at Midway, and Howdy Doody is easier to get in and out of. They don't always have what I am looking for, but they always have something that I like (something I cannot say for the nearby 7-11) when it comes to beer. PokéStop next door at Chopsticks, and a gym across the street at the doctor's office. The employees here are always pretty chill - no one is particularly friendly and I've never seen an employee out from behind the counter, but they are always nice, fast, and get the job done without issue. Overall, if I have the time, I go elsewhere for beer, but only because of the price. Otherwise, this is a neat little c-store in a great location.

H-E-B is more mid-market, Joe V's is the bargain end, and Central Market is the crown jewel. And honestly, shopping here is an experience. Much like IKEA, the store is designed to lead you through the entire place, so you're constantly seeing something else that makes you think, "Oh, I need that." They carry tons of regional specialties, including plenty that aren't even from Texas, plus an impressive selection of prepared foods. The bakery is lovely, and the meat section is downright glorious. We happened to be here at the tail end of Hatch chile season, which is apparently a VERY real thing. Every August, Central Market celebrates with about two weeks of Hatch chile everything. We're talking marinated meats, salsas, chips, cheeses, dips, even cookies. Basically, if they can put a Hatch chile in it, they will. We bought a few things to take home and try later, but we also grabbed an Asian chicken wrap with sweet potato fries from the cafe. Delicious, and easily enough for two people to split. Come hungry, come curious, and give yourself plenty of time. This is not a "run in for milk" kind of grocery store.
