Oh thank heaven for 7-Eleven!! Today is 7/11, July 11th, and every year on this date the 7-Eleven…read morecompany will give a free small size Slurpee to anyone that comes into their store. How cool is that!?! This year marks the 60 year anniversary of the iconic Slurpee!! When I was a kid many, many moons ago, I would ride my bike up to 7-Eleven and use my babysitting money to buy the essentials- candy, snacks, magazines and a Slurpee!! My favorite Slurpee was mixing the Cherry and Coke flavors to make a Cherry Coke. Today we were in the area of this 7-Eleven location at 9750 Walnut Hill Lane for a family member's birthday. I had read earlier in the day in the Dallas Morning News, that there would be a fun date experience so we decided to stop in on our way to the birthday party. I'm so glad we did!! This 7-Eleven location is amazing!! It's so clean and modernized! It was set up as a fun "date experience" and boy was it ever fun!! They had a DJ, photographer, photo-op spot, very kind and friendly people helping make and serve up the free Slurpee's in your choice of flavors. After the photographer took your pic, they could send it to your phone and also print it off! How cool is that!?! I will definitely be coming back here very soon because it was such a fun and tasty experience. Nothing like a Slurpee on a hot Summer day! Thank you 7-Eleven for letting this "young at heart" woman reminisce about my younger days while enjoying a refreshing and delicious free Slurpee!!

The selection of teas at this convenience store rivals Central Market. During the 2021 snowstorm, a line of dad's stood by as this place made batches upon batches of taquitos. You could have put them on a plate with a garnish and served them at a Tex-Mex restaurant, and I would have been fooled. I have gone inside on Christmas Day, and the workers are still so enthusiastic that you wouldn't even think that they were at work. I'm not sure why they turned this 7-Eleven into a Whole Foods competitor, but I am glad that they did.

I've gone to this store a lot in the past but not any more. Their employees used to be great, but…read moreI've been in twice recently and had to deal with an exceptionally rude jerk. This employee, a heavy set African American guy, checked my four lottery tickets and didn't give them back to me as I requested -- he said they weren't winners but I have no idea (their scanner was broken so I couldn't check them myself). I had asked him to give me back the tickets before he ran them, but he ignored me and threw them in the trash. When I asked about getting them back he said he "wasn't gonna go digging through the trash like a dog" and acted aggressively so I just left. For all I know they could have all been winners but I'll never know. But one thing I'm certain of is I won't go back to this store again. I'm disappointed at how far downhill it's gone -- it used to be great. Quik Trip and Race Trac are so much better, their employees are consistently friendly and I never have to worry about being treated like I was at this 7-Eleven.

Terrible Member Service…read more I had an extremely frustrating experience trying to get a simple question answered. I called the store multiple times because I was trying to find out if a specific AC unit was available , but my app was not working. Each time I called, I was repeatedly placed on hold until I eventually had to hang up. I finally selected the option to speak with another department and asked to speak with a manager. I was kept waiting for about 10 minutes before the call was disconnected. At that point, I decided to drive to the store myself. When I arrived, there was no line at Membership, but the two employees working in the department were standing there talking to each other. I explained to a manager what had happened with my calls, and they didn't seem particularly concerned. They told me they would speak with the employees in Membership. What made the situation even more frustrating was that while walking around the store, we ran into the same manager again, and he was also on his phone. I understand that employees may have legitimate reasons for being on their phones, but after repeatedly being unable to get through to the store and then experiencing this in person, it was extremely disappointing. As a paying Sam's member, I expect better communication, accountability, and member service.
