Lesson learned: Next time, be careful of driving near/behind construction trucks, who knows what could be flying out of their open top trailers. So this is the story that led me to Broco, a small garage on Marine Drive. They lent me one of their courtesy cars which required no paperwork for me to sign or acknowledge -- so in essence, I could have gotten tickets for the courtesy car without worrying to pay it! But of course, that was just a thought. It seemed a bit shady at first, without being able to see structure and procedure from how they took my car, inspected it without taking any notes and assigned me to a courtesy car. Service is ok, workmanship is ok -- at least the customer service I get is better than those from huge chain garages who'd turn their nose up at the ICBC claims jobs that does not give them much cash.

When the part finally arrived, I thought they would install it for me at no charge for a two minute job. This was not the case. I took the part home and struggled with it for about half an hour. My girlfriend also did not have any luck, nor did my landlord. Exasperated I gave up for the day. I drove into Crown Glass on my day off and asked them if they wouldn't mind helping me. The employee and manager were very friendly and the manager snapped the part in place almost immediately. He didn't charge me for the service, and I'm very grateful to him for this. I would highly recommend Crown Glass, and though I hope I won't have cause to use their service again, if I happen to this store will be my first choice.

They had appointment availabilities two days after my initial call with them, which was really helpful as I wanted my service done sooner than later. They initially told me the service would take 4 hours max, but they called me 2.5 - 3 hours later after dropping my car off, saying that my car is ready for pick-up. It was quick, and I had my doubts, to be honest. But it's been weeks since my car was serviced and my windshield still works fine! I would recommend this shop.

Here's what happened: -super friendly service & very, very clean office & garage -I was able to get an appt first thing the next morning -offered free Keurig coffee/tea/hot chocolate while I waited -when I said that I was going to call a cab to take me to work I was immediately offered a free ride! They dropped me off right at my door. -excellent job of the chip repair -they said my wipers needed replacing and when I said yes, the woman gave me a discount on my chip repair so that my total including the wipers came out to less than the original total without the wipers! -they vacuumed the inside of my car and cleaned the windows! -they gave me a recommendation for a local company to repair the small dent in the car I haven't experienced such excellent service in a long time!

I'd say they simply look at the damage as a revenue opportunity. No apology, no compensation. Another glass shop said they should at least comp me the deductible. No dice. I had been a long term customer of SpeedyGlass. Nevermore.
