On a Friday evening, I arrived home to find I could not open my garage door. My usual garage door…read morecompany was closed until Monday. My sister recommended Pro Way. I thought, ok, I'll try them. Big mistake. I paid $289.00 for a service call and to remove the emergency bolt from my garage, as I had no key. Once open, Chris was basically at a loss as to why all my remotes were not working. Diagnosis was a possible bad circuit board and recommended that since the garage opener was 20 years old, it was best to replace it. I was anxious to get the door fixed, agreed, and he informed me that they do not carry the size motor for a single door. He suggested to me to go to Home Depot!!!! He was aware beforehand that he was called to repair a single garage door and could have mentioned that on the phone. I was speechless. I am still upset that I called this company and did not wait until Monday to call the best garage door repair company in Indian River County. On Monday morning, my door was fixed within an hour. I am out $289.00 I was quoted this amout prior to him coming, I was not made aware that they don't carry garage door motors for single garages and that they would not be able to repair replace my motor, if that were the problem. I am a senior on a fixed income and I feel that I was deceived. If you think you may not be able to fix the problem, don't make the service call. The possibility that the motor or circuit board was shot should have come to your mind when I described the issue with the remotes. I am still fuming. Very expensive lesson learned.

I had an appointment scheduled with Ace Garage Door Repair & Installation and was notified only two…read morehours before the scheduled arrival time that the appointment would need to be rescheduled for two days later. When I called to inquire about the reason for the reschedule, I was informed that the technician was dealing with a family emergency involving his son. I expressed my sympathy and concern for the technician and his family. However, I also explained that I had taken time off work specifically to be home for the appointment and asked whether the company had another technician available or any contingency plans in place when emergencies arise. Unfortunately, the supervisor, Sara, became very hostile during the conversation. Rather than addressing my concerns professionally, she raised her voice and repeatedly asked if I did not understand that the technician had an emergency with his son. At no point did I question the seriousness of the emergency. I was simply trying to understand what options the company had available after I had rearranged my work schedule. I am genuinely sorry for what the technician and his family are going through, and emergencies happen. My disappointment is not with the technician but with the way I was treated by management. A little empathy and professionalism would have gone a long way. Customers should not be made to feel unreasonable for asking questions after taking time off work and having an appointment canceled at the last minute.
