Dr. Mychajlonka is such a sweet, caring, compassionate person. She treats my animals like they're her own. She's always very thorough and explains the process well and gives you options for treatment. 1000/10 would recommend to all my family and friends. read more

If you are considering using this vet make sure you have a lot of money in the budget! Dr Boyer retired in December of last year (2025) and sold her practice to Dr. Mychajlonk. We had been going to Dr Boyer for years and she was great, Dr. Mychajlonk is the direct opposite. I had not had a reason to visit Speedway Veterinary until last June when I was concerned about my dog. I called to set up an appointment and was told the best that could be done was to drop my dog off at 7:30 in the morning and Dr. Mychajlonk would exam him when she could and give me a call. Since I was concerned about Hugger (my dog) I agreed. I had not met Dr. Mychajlonk so I didn't know what to expect. When I brought Hugger in, I was presented with a bill of just under $1,000 that I was asked to approve (Dr. Mychajlonk had never seen Hugger before and at this point still hadn't) I declined but then the staff told me to leave Hugger anyway and the doctor would examine him and call me. I agreed to do that. When the doctor called there was a bad connection and I couldn't understand what the doctor was saying. When I told the doctor that she said that if I would pick up Hugger at 3 that afternoon she would talk with me then. When I showed up at 3 the nurse, not Dr. Mychajlonk met me and I was told that Hugger needed more tests and the cost would still be the figure I was given that morning. I've had animals for most of my life, I'm 85, and this is the first time I've ever had a vet give me a diagnosis for a pet BEFORE ever seeing the animal and have the exact same diagnosis after the exam. Final warning...look at the review's and you'll see that the vast majority are when Dr Boyer had the practice. Consider yourself warned. read more

Incredible experience! I have a MASSIVE Great Dane that does not like going to the vet. The entire staff was extremely patient and moved slowly so that my big guy felt safe. I also have a very elderly Dane/Mastiff mix (14 years old!) and she loved her visit. The assessments, recommendations, meds, and empathy from Dr. Mychajlonka and team at Speedway Vet is beyond impressive. Kudos to the entire nursing and front desk team as well. Fantastic from beginning to end and we will absolutely be back. read more

After over a decade of seeing Dr Boyer I came to realize how awful this vet really is. She does not check the weight of your dog to determine the correct dosage of heart medicine. My dog was on the incorrect usage until I verified with another vet the CORRECT dosage. This vet fired me and my 3 dogs in the middle of treating them for major medical disorders. I believe she did this because she was not experienced enough to treat them properly. I found error after error. She's an unethical practitioner. She is high strung and very insulting. She takes 100% of your money (she's one of the most expensive vets in Tucson) but offers only 50% or less care. And she does NOT care for her patients nor their families. She refuses to answer questions like dietary needs or tests and procedures that need to be done. She misdiagnosed and mistreated all 3 of my dogs. I would not use Kayla Boyer she is terrible and has really gone downhill over the years. She's nasty and refuses to answer important questions because she lacks capability and knowledge. I have found so much better since she let us go. It was a door that was much needed to open for the betterment of our healthcare for our animals. Blood riddens speedway vet hospital. read more

Over the past 24 years and to this day, I have entrusted the care of my beloved pets to Dr. Boyer and Speedway Vet. Dr. Boyer has patiently given me information about my pets' health so I could make my own decisions about their care. Dr. Boyer has kept a series of cat and dog companions healthy and long-lived in spite of chronic health problems. When the time came to let a pet go, Dr. Boyer and her staff performed euthanasia with respect, kindness, and compassion. Speedway Vet provides the best veterinary care in Tucson. read more

Moving is always hard, but I actually cried hardest when saying goodbye to Dr. Boyer and her staff. I contacted them a few years ago when my cat was acting strange (not eating, hunched, sleeping a lot). Given that she was a senior kitty, I thought she was on her last leg. But Dr. Boyer was like a dog with a bone (pardon the pun), determined to find the reason behind my cat's illness. Turns out, she was just anemic and needed frequent Epigen injections. The turn around in my cat was incredible. She is like a spry kitten again! And she's 18!!!! The genuine care and concern Dr. Boyer and her staff have for your pet will be second to none. In the time I took Sophie here I always felt completely taken care of and trusted them more than anyone with my baby. Speedway Vet Hospital is a rare find, and have left giant shoes to fill in my and my pet's life. read more

I loved the care that my pet received! My pet received a care plan that was achievable, and she's well now!

Dr Boyer and her staff are people of true character, feelings as well as professionalism. They give you their absolute best no matter what the situation or how many times they have had to deal with it. I recently had to face the inevitable decision that a lot of us dog lovers do and had to and put my grey on " the other side of the rainbow". I can't tell you how compassionate the whole staff was and Dr. Boyer especially was amazing. She understood my emotional pain and really helped me through the process. Especially after he passed by donating a tree in my greyhound 's name. What vet does that? You can feel very secure putting your best buddy in their care. read more

Dr. Boyer and her staff are so incredible, and I'm so thankful that I found her when I got my pup 4 years ago right after adopting her when she was 3 months old. My dog has had many health complications, and Dr. Boyer and her staff are always so caring and thoughtful with every single appointment and situation. They treat their furry patients like they are their own pets, and it's hard to find that in a vet office. Just recently, we have been having a lot of hardships with my furry baby, and Dr. Boyer has been so informative and caring to our situation. I was also having trouble with my pet insurance company approving a claim (which is also relative to more current and upcoming vet visits), and Dr. Boyer and her staff immediately took it into their own hands and made sure it was taken care of. Thank you all so much for what you do. Maya and I appreciate all of your hard work and love! read more

I can't say enough positives about Dr. Boyer and her staff. Dr. Boyer saved our dog's life after she was bitten twice in the face by a rattlesnake. This veterinary hospital was extremely informative, and took the time to provide me with websites and information regarding area concerns for my pet, being that we are new to Tucson. Dr. Kayla Boyer is the best!!! We've been to like 5 vets over the years to find her. Love her. My hubby and I find her to be down-to-earth, high integrity, compassionate, warm, very experienced, and super-knowledgeable. My hubby says she's like a solid, down-home, ol' fashioned country doc. The whole staff is great, especially Robert the Vet Tech. And we never feel rushed, even when they are busy. She's fair-minded, has appropriate pricing, and does not employ the fear-mongering upsell tactics that we've experienced at a few other veterinary practices in town. (Ex. almost $500 for a simple UTI at PAWS with over-the-top bloodwork costs and unnecessary follow-up appt and more bloodwork... when it was clear it was a common, simple UTI.) read more

I am the dog-mom of a very nervous 39lb german shephard mix. I knew that when I picked him up at PACC, that I wanted to find a good quality vet for a lower price. I picked this location for the good reviews. Our experience wasn't bad, I just admittedly don't feel like it was a great fit. Their exam room is relatively small and did nothing to ease his anxiety. When they gave him his shots, I watched as they muzzled him and repeatedly tapped him on the head "to distract him." Whereas this might be okay for most dogs, my buddy flinches at the lightest of taps when he is as terrified as he was. It was an incredibly stressful environment for both of us. Seeing this, I decided I'd be willing to dish out some extra money to find him a place that is a little less stressful on him. Again, it's not as if they did anything wrong, I just don't think it worked for my anxious buddy. A 3-star rating of A-OK is perfectly reflective of our experience. read more

This was literally the 4th vet that I took my cat Norm to while dealing with a growth/skin issue on the base of his tail. The other vets tried various antibiotics and treatments but nothing had worked over the span of a year. After some extensive research, Kayla found a very specific antibiotic that has been working for him and has given me hope of curing this after a year of trial and error. Not only was Kayla doing research but she was also making phone calls on my behalf to animal dermatologist and going above and beyond to solve this issue. I'm extremely thankful that there are veterinarians as passionate and thoughtful as her and her staff. Can't recommend enough. read more

They couldn't see my dog but the receptionist was just so kind by explaining to me why and where I could go to get him help that I just wanted to pop a five star review down just for this small interaction. other places i called didn't give me the time of day so this place is probably really good if they are this kind to a stranger on a cold call. read more

I've been in the Tucson area for 4 years now. Back in Arizona since December 2009. And I have to come clean...I've been vet hopping. I'm owned by 5 pets, 3 dogs and 2 cats. My dogs range in size from 19 lbs to 85 lbs to 130 lbs. Small, medium, and large. For the most part they're healthy and doing great, but when my terrier mix developed bad breath (bad doesn't begin to explain it. His breath smelled like he'd just eaten fresh zombies) and was pawing at his mouth, I knew I had to find a good vet. Dr. Boyer is that vet. I've been searching for a veterinary doctor I could trust with my "kids", one who'd genuinely care for them, one who loves what they do, and one who gives a level and quality of care I'd grown accustomed to when I lived in Wisconsin. Last week, my little dog went in for dental surgery. He had to have all of his teeth, and part of his jaw removed. I was called twice during the surgery with updates by the vet tech Robert. Robert is another amazing addition to our experience. He's gentle, informative, and kind. When my fur baby was released Dr. Boyer sat with me, taking her time to explain what she did, then Robert took over with the after care instructions. I'm a massage therapy instructor and had to bring my little dog with me to class after picking him up. I was given a blanket (which I'm going to wash and return) to carry him out with, and a hug from Dr. Boyer. She thanked me for trusting her with my pet. I'll only use Dr. Boyer's clinic from now on. And my little dog, Diogie, is doing fantastically! Thank you to everyone at Speedway Veterinary Hospital! read more

Speedway Vet is really the best. They love my dogs like I love them and they don't treat us like a transactional appointment. They're fast to respond, and I LOVE that they call me every time after my appointments to see how my dog is doing. For about a year I switched to a different vet bc I moved to Oro Valley. I should've just made the drive to Speedway bc they're an above and beyond vet clinic. Highly trusted, highly skilled, and an excellent team. read more

I had an emergency today with my dog and I was frantically trying to talk to the woman at this place. Do not go here for an emergency! She was so focused on the $55 fee that was due before they would even look at my dog who was in serious pain! What is wrong with these people????? I explained that I had left my house in such a hurry that I didn't even have shoes on or my wallet. She kept going on about the $55... Geez! I would have come up with something to get it taken care of, I'm freaking out. My baby is badly injured and she and I are both absolutely terrified!!!!! In my frantic state, I said a curse word and she had to scold me for it. I'm freaking out and don't know up from down and she is focused on my potty mouth and $55!!! Luckily, I realized that I wanted the actual emergency vet which made $1200 from me today! Your loss! Have a bit more tolerance to people who are suffering because there is a reason why they might be out of their minds in horror! This is my kid!!!!! read more

Dr. Kayla Boyer and her fantastic staff have been fantastic with our two dogs: Big (black Lab mix) and Cindy (pit/terrier mix). Big has had all kinds of health issues - mostly stemming from lesions he gets between his toes. After all kinds of tests and allergy screenings, we have him on a special diet and antigen injections at home. We are certainly doing our part to help with the economic recovery. The staff are very hands-on and really care for our pets. We can't say enough about Dr. B - she's awesome! read more

My mom passed and I "inherited" her dog. I took my dog here because she had a mass on her rectum. A friend referred me and had only positive things to say bout the office and the staff. The staff was super nice and attentive. My dog received the medical attention she needed. Dr. Boyer was very informative on what needed to be done and the different options I had to remedy the situation. The rooms are super clean (no fur everywhere like other vet offices I have been to), you can purchase food in the lobby, and they have covered parking. I also have a 11-year-old dog, which I plan on bringing in soon to get her teeth cleaned. Thanks Speedway Veterinary Hospital! read more

I'm so glad we decided to choose these great people to take care of our newly adopted Cockapoo, Snow. Her first visit was great. The people were very nice and really cared about her and the other animals. That's actually rather rare when it comes to vets. I've seen many vets who really didn't care all that much about the animals and who didn't understand that they're actually family members. These folks get it - big time! We saw Dr. Crawford and I was so impressed that he didn't immediately grab our dog and put her up on the cold table and start prodding her. He actually sat down on the floor and played with her while he conducted his exam. She thought the whole thing was fun. The staff were very kind and when they did her various blood tests (she's a new adoptee) they took her to a nice area where they could do what needed to be done without stressing out her owners. Everyone on staff had to pet her and play with her and she loved the attention. I don't think we'll have any trouble getting her to want to visit again for her check ups! Update: Our girl needed surgery for torn ligaments in her leg recently. Speedway was able to do the surgery for about half what a specialist wanted to charge and she's done great. The staff took excellent care of her and she's healing nicely. For those who claim the services are too expensive I have to say either you're very cheap or you just don't know what you're talking about. The services were less expensive than other places for her surgery and all of her follow-up visits have been free of charge until she is released to normal play and activity. read more

I'm a brand new cat owner. Or rather, a brand new kitten owner. I always feel like my visits are honest, efficient, and thorough. I've gone to Speedway Vet exclusively for several years now, and couldn't be more satisfied. Dr. Boyer & her staff are some of the most knowledgeable, compassionate, and pleasant individuals that I've had the fortune to find. They have always done right by me and my pets, taking great care to inform of all treatment options available, alongside those risks, side-effects, and potential concerns associated with each--it seems as though they go to great lengths to remain current with the latest veterinary medicine. And they do all of this while making you feel welcome. I have never felt merely like a customer there; instead, they seem to care genuinely about forming lasting vet-patient relationships with those who walk through their doors. Additionally, they are incredible advocates for animals in the Arizona community. Speedway Vet serves its clients as an invaluable source of information for most matters related to pets and animal welfare generally; I have contacted them on numerous occasions through out the past few years on a wide range of issues, always being greeted by enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff. In short, this place does all those things a great animal hospital & vet should do--and much more. read more

I chose Speedway Veterinary Hospital because it was recommended to me by several people and it is convenient to my home. I had previously taken my dog to two other vets in Tucson, and I felt they were just not being thorough enough. Something was wrong, and the diagnosis and medication just weren't right. I adopted my dog from a rescue and he had a persistent cough that previous medications had no effect on, so I took him to Speedway Veterinary Hospital based on the recommendation of others. Dr. Kayla Boyer did a very thorough exam, even smelling his ears! She diagnosed his heart murmur and treated the fluid in his lungs that I could actually hear. He also ended up having to have his upper canines removed later on, and Dr. Boyer did an excellent job on his surgery. My dog's recovery went so smoothly, thanks to Dr. Boyer and her staff. I have called around to other vets to compare costs for the same services, and found them either more expensive or comparable to Speedway Veterinary Hospital. I am more than satisfied with Dr. Boyer and her wonderful staff and will continue to take my dog here for veterinary care. read more
