We love feline focus and Dr Aronson for holistic and western medicine! For years PAWS has been great to our pets. I wanted to encourage any cat owner to try their Feline Focus building. I had avoided vet care for my kitty after she'd been "fractious" elsewhere. She legitimately had a great time at Feline Focus! I was nearly in tears with how kind and helpful staff was. (Pictured) Dr Aronson is a gem here in Tucson! His knowledge and compassion has helped us through some tough situations with our elderly dogs and he also was encouraging and empowering with his holistic consult for our new puppy! (Consult pictured) The techs and front desk are kind and knowledgeable- I always felt more than comfortable when they helped my old dogs. (Pictured) Hayley and Jen are wonderful too!

My puppy loves the groomer. And most other people. But The Vet at PAWS was afraid of him !!!

BE CAREFUL. This Veterinary Clinic practices "fear free" exams. In a nutshell, that means they can turn your pet away without doing the exam and still charge full price for the exam. This is what they did to me. - They never mentioned anything about being fear free when I made my appointment. - my puppy is friendly to everybody but a little bit shy at the vet. Never aggressive. - 3 other vets were able to examine my puppy with no problem whatsoever. The Groomer was able to do a full groom with no problem whatsoever. - Dr. Benitez at PAWS was afraid to examine my puppy and said he needed to be sedated. He's an eight month old mini poodle puppy. He jumps into the laps of complete strangers and gives kisses. But was a little bit afraid of Dr. Benitez, who is extremely nervous around animals. - Dr. Benitez suggested I return with my 8 month old mini-poodle under sedation for a normal exam. It was beyond ridiculous. Nobody on earth would look at my puppy and think he needed to be sedated for an exam. Nobody. - when I met with the vet tech for the pre-exam consultation, I mentioned four areas that I would like Covered during this exam.1) look at his eyes because they are a little crusty 2) look at ears with otoscope 3) look at teeth to see if baby teeth have all come out 4) trim nails.. She agreed to all of this which is perfectly normal because this is the normal list that is covered in an exam among other things. But I didn't ask for anything else. Just those four areas. When the doctor walked in, I reiterated the same exact list and said that in order to budget your time, I would like these four areas covered. And he agreed. THE DOCTOR DID NONE OF THE THINGS ON THE LIST. He spent 30 minutes, trying to make friends with my puppy by feeding him about 100 treats. My puppy didn't ever reach the point where he would crawl into his lap and give him kisses, and therefore the vet refused to do the exam, but KEPT MY MONEY. Dr. Benitez did NOT do the exam. He kept my money because he said he spent time with my Pet. He did not do any of the four items on the list. I've never seen anything like that. Afraid to do the exam with a puppy because he wouldn't be his best friend. He was not growling or showing any aggression. But the doctor was not comfortable doing the exam and kept my money. I was not warned that this would be a possibility. In fact, I brought it up twice that I had a list of four items I would like Covered and both the vet tech and the vet agreed to those items. They did not do the exam and they kept my money. What kind of business does that?

The entire staff is exceptional. I had been taking Rusty to another vet and was not happy with the way they examined him. They would whisk him off to the back and do "stuff" then come talk to me. I didn't know what to expect when I took Rusty to PAWS for the first time. I was blown over by how nice the facility is. They have a separate section for cats and dogs so no cat feels threatened. The ladies at the front desk were so helpful and accommodating. The first exam was done in the same room with me! Man, I was shocked. The Tech gave him some peanut butter to help distract him so he was not focused on the exam. Instead of pumping him full of pain relievers like the other vet, they suggested that we not do that. Rusty had warts and there was an annoying one on his foot. It was getting infected and instead of having me keep wrapping it, the vet suggested that we got booties to put on his feet. Well that did the trick. Instead of using just the one, we decided to put them on all 4 so he could get around better. About 2 months after this visit, Rusty took his final visit to them. I called in the morning and was given a same day appointment. When we arrived, we were immediately taken to a room that was set up for him to be comfortable and for us to have privacy. The Tech and the Vet both spent time with us to make sure we were ready to let go. Afterward we were allowed to stay as long as we wanted with him. I've had to let go of many dogs & cats and this was by far the best experience I've had. I would highly recommend PAWS. Everyone there is focused on giving your fur-baby the best care possible.

Recently moved back to Tucson (yea!) and needed to find a new veterinarian for Murphy-Lou, the sweetest Coonhound in the world but she has a few medical issues that require vigilant monitoring. Read PVC's excellent reviews and made an appointment. From our initial entry through checkout, our experience was wonderful! Check-in was a breeze and we were greeted as if we were old friend... very kind folks at the reception area. Our vet tech was super sweet, a good listener, thorough with Murphy's history info, and clearly a dog lover... (all the techs we've met have been much the same!). Dr. Fallini came in, introduced herself, and spent a LOT of time getting to know Murphy and her issues. She was extremely professional, warm, and seemed genuinely interested and focused when discussing her history. She took the time to answer all of our questions and we felt very confident in the care that PVC would provide. A few more visits since our first visit and we still feel great about the care she's getting at PVC, and we really enjoy stopping in and receiving friendly smiles from everyone. We're grateful for and absolutely recommend PAWS Veterinary Center to anyone needing care for their furry family members!

My husband and I were also really pleased he checked each dog thoroughly and verbalized the exam so we knew exactly what was happening. The space is petite, clean, and comfortable with lovely art hanging all around. The entire visit was easy and both dogs were very happy. The timing was impeccable. Second, once we got to VCA Valley we were greeted by very welcoming receptionists who got us checked in immediately, we were seen within 10/15 minutes of getting there by a vet tech named Alex, and brought to an exam room. he was amazing and went through all the notes the call center employee noted, we explained Daisy's full history, he checked her vitals and was so gentle with her as she was very nervous. Then we were shortly seen by Dr Zatlow (spelling may be wrong but i know they refer to her as Dr Z!) and she was very compassionate, she listened attentively, she gave us a thorough explanation and examined Daisy accordingly all with us present in the exam room. She stated all her concerns and then laid out a treatment plan for us that fit within our budget (as we were facing some financial difficulties at this time) Alex did a phenomenal job of explaining CareClub to us and the advantage of using that plan to minimise the up front cost for Daisy to have blood work done. They also refilled her prescription for her valley fever medication and seizure medication AND sent us home with a steroid for her autoimmune disorder. The next day i contacted them again to schedule her blood draw and i expressed to them i wanted to keep her appointments with Dr Z and her team and they fitted me in with a blood draw for the following day at 11AM So 01/07 we went and got her blood drawn, they again greeted us very welcoming, they got us into an exam room within 15 mins, they checked her vitals again and took her back for the draw which took no longer than 15/20 mins. We spoke with Dr Z again and she spoke to us further about what our focus is and what our next steps will be. They informed us that the blood samples would be sent out that night and we would get the results by the weekend, this visit again was very informative and we left very satisfied with the care Daisy was given. The unfortunate part of all this, was that my dogs health took a pretty rapid decline, this was no ones fault other than the relapse in her condition was working rapidly and she was showing very bad signs, we contacted VCA valley that same night (01/07 around 9pm) and we were told we would receive a call from the emergency techs who would triage her via phone to tell us if we needed to bring her in or not (and this triage call is of no cost to us, it is not considered an exam so there is no fee). This visit was the longest of all of them, Daisy was taken back immediately and in the back for about an hour before we got taken into an exam room. after Megan spoke with the Doctor the Doctor then came to us (i do not remember this Dr's name but she was also very kind, compassionate and thorough in all her explanations) she outlined the severity of Daisy's symptoms and the extent of the care that she would need and the risks involved, and after a lot of discussion with my partner we decided it was ABSOLUTELY in Daisy's best interest to let her sleep peacefully. And although this was such an unexpected decision and it absolutely broke me to do it, i NEVER felt pressured to do this, Megan the vet tech and the Doctor did not force me to do this, they gave me every option possible. They got her comfortable, They brought her to me and gave me and my partner time to say goodbye, i had decided i didnt want to be present while they put her to sleep as it was just too hard for me. Megan the tech stayed with me in the lobby while i waited for my boyfriend to come out the exam room. She was sleeping eternally at 3am on 01/08 The paperwork was easy, i signed and picked out the urn for my baby, due to our financial situation we signed a "promise to pay" for me to pay over the next week so i could get her ashes back. It was all very simple and affordable and they are working with a timeline that fits my pay schedule. I just have to end this very long winded review that the specific drs and techs that we saw were absolutely amazing, i would recommend trying to get appointments with Dr Z and her team if you can, Im happy that they even gave my baby a chance to try and treat her condition, her health just declined so rapidly and that was no ones fault. Thank you VCA for giving my girl a chance, it gave me a few extra days to love on her before letting her rest with dignity and peace.
