I picked this clinic based on reviews on Yelp and Google. As I got to the clinic, there were two other patients (dog moms) and they both told me they had been going there for a while and loved the doctor so I felt even more reassured. I have encountered some greedy clinics(not in Tucson) but both the doctor and her assistant Laurie are angels. They have taken care of my cat with kindness. This is an extremely busy office so if you do need to make a phone call, call early in the morning. read more

They were very insensitive and rude. Not sure if they were having an off morning. They didn't even have any occupational therapy to recommend for my tripawd they made a joke of back in their day they didn't even have such thing and shrugged it off ... just overall attitude. I have brought my dog here three different times over the past 2 years. The vet has always said odd things but I have never taken offense to it. Today I took my dog in to get his skin checked as he has multiple wounds to his snout and face from a scorpion sting or who knows what, hense why I took my dog in to the vet. He has gotten hot spots in the past that have become infected and spread pretty quickly to where he has needed antibiotics to help heal his skin. Instead of addressing my concerns for my dog or really looking at him, she instead focused on me and told me how people could dismiss me because I come off "high stressed" and not take what I'm saying seriously. She said that three different times how people could "dismiss" what I'm saying. I'm an ER nurse, my dog is not dying and I was not high stress. I'm trained to respond and manage dying patients and high acuity situations while remaining calm. She is lucky I'm a nice person and didn't respond harshly back to her with how I was feeling. Very unprofessional, I will no longer take my dog here. Her assistant however, has always been kind. read more

Stay away from this place and this vet! You may notice that all the good reviews are from a few years ago. Maybe that's because Callahan used to be a good vet. But if that is the case, she isn't any more. Maybe she is losing it these days from old age, because she is horrible to people these days. She is harsh, judgmental, and unprofessional. I have heard her be extremely rude to clients, and so loud with that rudeness that you can hear it in the waiting room and it frightens the animals and disturbs the people waiting. This woman is simply a Class A bitch. Also, this is the dirtiest vet clinic I have ever seen. It's filthy. Plus, you can't never get them on the phone unless you call at like 6AM and you can't leave a message either! Her tech, Laurie, is professional and efficient, always polite to clients and I feel *very* sorry for her having to work for someone like that. She deserves better, and so do you. Not only did she refuse to help my pet in need, she tried--pushily--to sell me on an unnecessary product, altering her behavior, unprofessionally, to antagonize my frightened, severely abused shelter rescue to make it seem as if I desperately needed that service. Plus, she gave me heartworm medication I only found out later was very dangerous to give to my dog without her having done a heartworm test. Just awful. They have taken care of my pets from simple care like shots to the loss of a pet to recent cancer surgery for my dog. No sales push here. No fancy waiting room. They work their butts off every day. We were traveling and our elderly pug was real sick with large absess below her ear. No local Vets would see us. I happened to see her office when at the supermarket. I walked in and pleaded for an appt. She said they were too busy but could see her the next morning. After a couple hours my pup was shaking and getting worse so I picked her up and brought her to the office. They immediately brought her in and started treatment.Dr McCallahan was so caring and thoughtful. I can understand the frustration with getting appointments or answering the phone but realized it's only her and Laurie. If she had to tend to the phone she would never be able to see the animals. It's frustrating but She serves many lower income families thus she tries to keep her fees lower. If you need an appt, I would stop in directly. read more

Why in the hell dont they take the dog out of the room, trim nails & come back like every other vet I have seen for 40 years? I recently moved from Las Vegas and I'm so lucky to have found Mission Pet Clinic. My family has used them for years. Dr. Callahan is the most caring, compassionate, patient, and knowledgeable vet you will find. The clinic is run by her and Lori. Lori answers the phones, checks every client in and out, and assists Dr. Callahan with every pet. She does it all! The clinic gets very busy, often times it's standing room only, but Lori and Dr. Callahan work together like a well oiled machine. I am amazed at how they are able to handle it all. Their prices are very reasonable but more importantly, they are honest and trustworthy. I am confident that my pets are always in good hands with Dr. Callahan. I just walked out of this clinic to get my dog his rabies shots. I was escorted to the examination room. I was in there for about 10 minutes and this lady just come flying in old woman and made my dog jump. Well he started barking and then she just started yelling at me telling me that I needed to train my dog and that everything that is happening is my fault, then she asked me if I could put another leash on him and I have a security leash on him and she wants to put this frivolous leash on him and I said yes she stood at the door holding the leash, never giving it to me and proceeded to heckle me I finally had to step out of the way so I could leave. She wouldn't even let me leave. she told me there was people in the waiting room that she needed to make sure that they didn't get bit. There was nobody in the waiting room. This place is a joke, I highly recommend avoiding it. They're picking and choosing who they want to take care of. Have no professional ethical couth at all. read more

When we brought our very sick cat in to see her, despite the fact that we are just staying in Tucson for the winter, she went above and beyond to thoroughly examine him and explore all possible treatments - giving us the pros and cons of each. Very kind people, not about the money yet quality service. They care about your animal and not "how we can rip you off" like other vets. My dog was put down here and they comforted me throughout and worked things out. Brought my cat in and didn't even charge me for checkup because I adopted! MIssion Pet with Dr Callahan and her assistant Lori are my choice for the care of my dogs. I first met Dr Callahan when I needed an elderly dog put down. I was here for the winter and hundreds of miles away from my regular vet. I called Mission based on their closeness to where I was staying. They both stayed during their lunchtime and met me at the back door to help me and my dying dog. So refreshing to meet a vet with both the knowledge and compassion to know what to do and say at exactly the right time.
