My husband ordered a cappuccino. The barista was the only employee in the front and manning the business alone. I actually think he did a good job and still kept the good customer service. My husband enjoyed his cappuccino, but I unfortunately did not enjoy my espresso tonic. I think maybe instead of the tonic the barista used either club soda or plain seltzer. The space is warm and cozy; seems to balance community and comfort well.. The big windows in the front appeared to draw solo sippers reading books and working on computers while the back has tables perfect for groups or lingering over a pastry and a cup of coffee. My favorite part of the coffee shop was the exterior. I love corner shops especially when the doors face the corner (if that makes sense). Based off the architecture the building is older, but the fresh paint on the light colored walls, the black moldings, the stunning warm wood finish side door, the tastefully placed greenery and especially the vibrant wall painting brought this building back to life. I took a few moments to marvel at the building from across the street. Simply lovely. The cortado was solid. I asked for it to be served "for here", because they always taste better in a glass or a mug. I received a little grumpiness from the baristas, but maybe they were having a bad day. I don't know. I was bummed to receive the cortado in a paper cup. Oh well...you can't have it all. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

The drinks were excellent, as always. I also purchased two coffee flan cakes, which were delicious. The store itself is beautiful, clean, and a great representation of a brand that means a lot to me. What stood out the most was the manager, who I believe is from Thailand. She was incredibly kind, patient, and determined to help. I found a gray coffee mug with black print that I absolutely loved. It was unique, practical, and exactly what I was looking for. When I asked if there was a new one available, she went above and beyond trying to find one. She searched drawers, checked upstairs, and looked all over the store. While she was doing all of this, I noticed there were three identical mugs displayed on other shelves. When I pointed this out, instead of helping the manager find a solution or checking whether one of those display mugs could be sold, some staff members simply kept saying, "It's a display." I understand that stores may have policies regarding display items, but customer service is about trying to help rather than immediately shutting down the conversation. A little effort, teamwork, or even offering to check with the manager would have gone a long way. What impressed me was that the manager never gave up. She continued searching and trying to help me. In the end, she decided to sell me the display mug, and I truly appreciated that. Her dedication and willingness to help turned what could have been a disappointing experience into a positive one. I do have one suggestion regarding packaging and customer service. I purchased drinks, flan cakes, and two boxes of coffee. The flans were placed in a bag together with the coffee boxes, while the drinks were carried separately. Honestly, that didn't make much sense to me. The flans could have easily been placed on the tray with the drinks, making everything easier to carry and reducing the risk of damaging the desserts. Small details matter, especially when customers are purchasing multiple items. The drinks deserve 5 stars. The store deserves 5 stars. The manager deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately, the level of service from the rest of the staff did not reflect the same standard. Customer service is more than simply being present, it is about being attentive, helpful, and supporting both customers and your teammates. Those small actions leave lasting impressions. That said, I don't think it would be fair to rate this location lower because the quality of the products and the manager's exceptional service outweighed my frustrations. I love this brand, and I will absolutely continue visiting whenever I am in Philadelphia. My feedback comes from a place of appreciation and wanting to see this location be even better. Thank you again to the manager for going the extra mile. Your effort did not go unnoticed, and you made my day.
