The Home Cooker has a separate Yelp page: https://yelp.to/qTKq/gmx9ZUpwT3 It's super conveniently located off of exit 41. There is an Old Town Grill practically in the same parking lot, and even more restaurant options within walking distance. The bathroom is clean. The men and women's bathrooms are each in different areas of the store, which was a bit confusing at first. Because more of the truckers enter in the back, and they're mostly all male, it makes sense. My favorite thing is the fountain drinks. All sizes are $.99. The styrofoam cups are thin, so be careful... I learned the hard way.

I had expiring #tmobile fuel rewards points to use by Friday. There was not any difficulty entering the account information at the fuel pump outside for the price discount. The price of gas was better than what I saw back at home which pleased me. The store was very clean and organized. I took my grandson in to use the men's bathroom. It was as expected for a gas station on the road a little bit worn in appearance but clean and well stocked with toilet paper. There were good snacks by the door like bags of Doritos that caught the eye of both my grandson and I but my wise daughter had packed food for the road so we continued out to the car. The employee at the checkout counter was having a friendly exchange with another customer when we entered and he wished us a good day as we excited. Inside I observed the appropriate #covid19 safety precautions being taken in the store (masks and social distancing). Until next time be kind to each other. #shell #minitmart #gasstation #roadtrip #familyfun #doretos #vacation

The store shows its age, there are things placed here and there, so remember to take a good look, you might actually find what you've been looking for. It's always nice when you accidentally run across something you haven't seen in 40+ years. That's how I felt about Shelton's Store. It reminded me of my local convenience store in my neighborhood when I was 5 years old. If I had a dime, it magically turned into a candy bar once inside the store. :)

It has charm and character you won't find in a Shell or Speedway. There is usually a group of regulars hanging out at the front chatting. The store is surprisingly large but dark and pretty dusty. The variety of items on the shelves is actually pretty funny and some of them look like they have been there for 40+ years. The couple that runs the place keeps a notebook with all transactions hand written in it. You can get homemade deli sandwiches on the super soft white bread that sticks to the roof of your mouth when you take a bite. Nothing fancy but it's nice to get lunch for 2 for less than $10 anywhere these days. They serve breakfast as well but I haven't made it in to try that yet. They also sell fuel but you can't pay at the pump. I would find that annoying some places but it just makes sense here. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of places left like Shelton's.
