One plain and one with smoke sausage and egg. They only have two left. One was a side biscuit and the other a corner biscuits. So I tell the girl use the corner biscuit for the sausage and egg. You know what she said. "They're all the same. They both have cheese. Then the other cook behind the counter says I tried to tell her They're all the same... From the side here comes another cook chiming in on the conversation and says " When you at you house you do what you like." So I'm standing there thinking Is this the yellow brick road where I meet the bad witch and her flying demons or is this the chipmunk with a fish bowl over her head, the squid, and the starfish. So I tell the chipmunk and the squid. No they're not all the same. It's like a sheet cake or a pan pizza. You have the side, the corner, the middle. Some people like the side. Some people like the corner. Some people like the middle. I like the middle but you only had the side which was fine. Then I tell the starfish, No I'm paying. And when I pay I get what I want. I get what I like. And when I'm at home I do what I want. I do what I like. But today, I'm paying. Then the chipmunk told me she was gonna make sure I didn't come back and if I did she would call the police. All mad because I beat them with words. When I tell you courtesy, politeness, pleasantness, respect, good customer service have retired and are not coming back. If you stray from the script you almost have to have a bible, a cross and holy water to lay these people down. So let's get down to it. You use to get a $1 worth of cheese on the biscuits. Now you get a quarter. Sometimes they're hard on the bottom. Sometimes they're crumbly. The eggs are watery. No flavor. The grits soupy. The regular biscuits are so thin it's like eating a cracker. The tenderloin biscuit is just tender fat with gravy. You get mostly gravy. They fry the chicken too hard. So No thank you. I won't be back. I use to go here all the time. I (safely) made a u-turn, parked, and headed inside. It's a typical convenience store with sundry items on the right and a large grill, counter, and hot bar on the left. It was 10:40 and I wasn't sure if I could get lunch yet. I was aimlessly staring at the menu when the women behind the counter asks, "You want lunch?" She read my mind. I ordered the hot dog combo that came with a canned drink and 3 potato wedges. The hot dogs here usually come with chili, onions, mustard, and ketchup. I asked for no onions and she confirmed with me no fewer than three times, "No Onions?" I appreciated that. I took my meal out to the car and enjoyed. Everything was hot and the chili had great flavor. While it may be sacrilegious, I enjoy ketchup on my hot dog every now and then. The wedges were perfection - crispy outside and soft inside. I wish they were seasoned a bit more. The other things on the hot bar looked awesome, especially the meatloaf and meatballs. I want to go back here!

We ordered the double cheese burger (comes with meat chili, onions, cheese and mustard) and one double hamburger with lettuce tomato onion. The double burgers were 1/2 pound. We also ordered some house made coleslaw. We sat at the one booth and we served very quickly. Our burgers were really good, the burger itself tasted good. The coleslaw was also a big win. We had 2 double burgers, coleslaws and 2 fountain drinks for 22$, great value and great taste. It is a true locals place run by a family. The family pictures on the wall and everyone coming in seems to know the staff. They have a drive through which also keeps them busy. It is not a fancy place but has a family lunch counter vibe. This grocery store and gas station took over the space vacated by the very briefly present Wal-Mart convenience store, and is a huge improvement over that atrocity. Walking in, the improvements over the Wal-Mart are easy to see. Attractive interior that doesn't feel overstuffed. A large variety of fresh foods and meats. There is even a small bakery and deli counter where you can order sandwiches to go. One of the best parts of this location, however, is that they have quite an impressive beer selection (wine, too)! You'll find everything from standard domestics all the way up to local, state, and larger craft brews. I picked up a 6 pack of "Not your Mother's Iced Tea" because who doesn't want to sip on a cold tea laced with a bit of alcohol while lazing on the beach?? This place really packs a lot of great services into their smaller location. They also double as a gas station, propane retailer, and red box movie stop. Be sure and support the pig when you're in town, so we don't have to drive all the way to Bayboro to get groceries again!
