We came looking for local coffee roaster and came upon this cute place. Doesn't have a lot of seating but the coffee was good. They offer variety of pastries and lots of flavors you could add to your beverage. It's not just coffee they have teas as well. I had a caramel macchiato and coffee had rich flavor.. much better than Starbucks! They only had 2 sizes of coffee and large was not as tall as venti from Starbucks. It's a small storefront but quaint. Service was fast and the server was very nice and helpful. I would definitely come here again if I'm in area. Convenient to uptown so you can sip your coffee while walking sidewalk seeing all shops in the area! read more

As a 10+ year ECU alumni, I love going back and seeing how much downtown has grown! We've come a long way since then and so has Greenville! There are so many cute shops and restaurants downtown including this awesome coffee house. I had some time to kill before a wedding one Saturday morning, so I brought a book and posted up at Blackbeard. There are LOTS of syrups to choose from and I highly recommend getting a latte "for here" because they serve it in a huge mug. I love the decor and the lighting is perfect for reading or studying. I wish Blackbeard was around back when I was in school! I would have loved coming here in college. Just what 5th street needed in my opinion! Blackbeard's is pretty hype. It's right downtown, close to ECU, and it appears as if they are always open - early in the morning or late at night. My research lab often has our lab meetings here, and the crew is kind enough to service us and let us take up space to discuss science and drink coffee. The coffee is good, staff friendly, and handmade concoctions (lol, sometimes I just tell them to mix up things in my drink like cinnamon and vanilla and honey) divine. You've definitely gotta come here while in Greenville! read more

This is a true coffee shop, on that isn't your typical chain, and the baristas are actually experts. They aren't douchey, however, so there is no snobbery at this fantastic spot in downtown. The atmosphere is great too, and comfortable, but I'd sit in a dark warehouse if it meant a decent cup of Joe. I sampled several flavors before settling in on one, but I sadly only had time for one. I really really liked my iced chai with oat milk. Thank you for having so many milk alternatives!!! They had tons of non-dairy milk options, including macadamia milk (which I've never tried). Their chocolate chip cookies looked delicious, but I didn't try one. Inside was spacious, clean, and delightfully chilled on this hot summer day. Staff were super friendly. Excellent place but having to wait 15 minutes for a cup of coffee is unreasonable. One person working in the morning is unfair to them and the customers. This little coffee shop was a nice addition to Greenville. I just love to see a local coffee shop opened that actually focuses on coffee. I had large latte and friend got affogato with warm chocolate cookie. We are told they bake their bakery from the store (yay!) and use vanilla ice cream from simply nature for affogato. My latte was perfect - they use sour beans and yet it had smooth aftertaste. It offers free wifi and has a few seats that I can literally spend hours here. I wish they have more power outlets near the seats by the window. Staffs were very friendly and knowledgeable. I will come back soon. read more
