What a cute little coffee shop in downtown Goldsboro. I was meeting a friend and got there a little before her. I needed an afternoon pick me up and saw this place just across from my parking spot. Kismet! No frills, cute little spot with a gorgeous mural on the inside. I got an iced coconut latte - the barista let me know they were out of ice (it was 3pm and they close at 4pm so fair enough). He was still able to make it chilled and I got more coffee in my drink so honestly I call that a win. The coconut flavoring in the latte was perfection - if you're a coconut lover, this is a drink for you. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. read more

Monday morning coffee and my "first office" of the day, I was here for about two hours pounding away on my laptop to get some emails sent and catch up on the weekend's going ons. The young lady behind the counter was happy to make me a "redeye" today - regular coffee with a shot of espresso added - and it was just the wake-up I needed. This coffee shop in Goldsboro was a welcome sight. Located in the middle of downtown Goldsboro, plenty of street parking is available in the area. Inside, not much seating is available. Just a couple of tables and a booth at the front window. That being said, their is a good amount of room to wait for your coffee without rubbing shoulders. The baristas were very kind. This particular morning they weren't busy and were willing to chat. Drinks were made quickly. If I was a local I believe this would be my coffee spot. read more

I love supporting small businesses and we had time to kill so we popped into GypsyBean and I'm so pleased we did. As someone new to the area, I was unsure about how to feel. Upon talking with our barista I am much more optimistic about being here! He talked not only coffee, but about the area and the places nearby he recommends. My coffee was exactly how I like it, as was my husband's chai. The prices were reasonable and the space was real nice to hang out in. Will be back. (And will probably become a regular!) read more

We found this little gem of a coffee shop right in downtown. The hubs had a Americano (hot) with cream and sugar. He loved it and it was just the right temp. I had one of their signature drinks. Y'all there were a few. It had a few flavors in it and it was made into a hot latte. The great thing about a lil coffee shop is they will honestly talk to you about the best way to enjoy one of their creations. IE: hot latte or iced. We were there 2x in the same day. Very friendly and kind. Inside could use some help visual but we weren't there for that. We were there for coffee. The Gypsy Bean is a nice coffee shop in downtown Goldsboro. The place is clean, bright and nicely decorated. They have plenty of seating inside and they offer an nice array of coffees both hot and cold. They also have ground and whole bean coffee to purchase from their local roaster. They do have baked goods on display but we skipped getting a muffin or cookie this time because it was in the late afternoon when we visited. Definitely a nice vibe here. read more

We were so pleased with the coffee, we bought a 12 oz whole bean bag to bring home to enjoy for days to come! GypsyBean has become my daily cold brew supplier. The staff are wonderful and the space is very nice. It is a wonderful little shop to sit for awhile and enjoy a good book or to catch up on some work (they offer free wifi). I can't say much about all their beverage choices, because I only drink the cold brew. But I will say that the cold brew is much better than other local offerings. read more

I have been waiting for a coffee shop in downtown for eight years. Now we have two and both are excellent five stars-each for different reasons. Gypsy Bean feels more community-esque. There is a nice lounge area and I especially like the window seats. There are two outside table tops too. When I sit outside, I have been approached by pan handlers but not very aggressive. The coffee... I usually get the latte and it is good. And I find a seat in the lounge area and someone will bring it to me. The pastries are super... I want to say to die for metaphorically, because they are so good I want more. There is a cheesecake chocolate tort that is so rich... The owners are and staff are super friendly. I'll be back many more times. read more

Oh this place is adorable! It's quaint and cozy and I want to come back every day! I read the drinks over to my boyfriend before we went in and we both instantly wanted The Traveler. Waiting in line, we both couldn't help but want something from the Farmer and Dail treats; the cookie was too good to pass up! Soft, chewy, just the right amount of sweet. And our drinks were fantastic; even with three flavors you could easily taste the coffee still, which is a plus! The wait wasn't too long even with drinks ahead of us. And the place was full of people, yet somehow felt spacious and cozy at the same time. I can't wait to go back and try a new flavor. read more

Honestly I don't recommend this place if you actually like coffee. I've given them a couple tries because of the previous company that was there and it was a disappointment each time. Customer service was ok but it didn't feel genuine. The first time I went was maybe a month after they had opened and I got an ice vanilla latte and a pastry. Simple. 1. There was no vanilla in it 2. The espresso tasted burnt or like it had just been sitting there. 3. The pastry was stale The second time I went in was a few months after that because maybe they were still adjusting. Right? No. My drink was still awful. This time I went for one of their "specialty" drinks. I couldn't taste a thing besides syrups. And I had even asked for extra shots so you'd think you'd be able to taste that. I tossed it and went to Labrar Coffee Co which is just down the street. They've got it together, well balanced flavors and the coffee is the focal point. Not the 8 syrups that go into just one drink. read more
