However, and that's a BIG however, the gas prices were astronomical for freeway-adjacent gas early last July. Visible across the street from the Chevron was a commonplace station by the name of Gas War. As the only war in which I have ever actively participated, Gas War's price display showed regular at $3.09.9 a gallon, cash or credit, so my enlistment was an easy choice. It might not be top-brass gas, but the Prius in use neither requires nor merits it. The adjacent mini mart is named S.A. Market, which is printed on gas sales receipts. Earlimart's Gas War is one of this practically anonymous Central Valley chain's lesser-known outposts, discovered unaided by reconnaissance. Praise the Lord and press the ignition.
