I contacted this location Pharmacy today 2/27/25 and told them I want my prescription canceled for a prescription that was sent over from UCLA last week. It was not filled because they texted me last week; there was something going wrong with my insurance. Next, as if today, I checked back, then I was told now it was something wrong with my birthday, but I've been a customer for years at this location and etc, I don't use any other pharmacy but this one on Coffee Road in Bakersfield. The medication in question started with a T, it's the same medication I've been getting at this exact same location for years. I then got my health plan on phone, the rep for Medicare part D at my health plan; she attempted to give the pharmacy at this location the override SCC code to fill my entire 60 day prescription, she educated and informed him how, but he claimed he did not know what that SCC Code was or meant or even how to do it. I then call from my second cell phone and I get him on the phone and he tells me that she didn't know how to do it. He blatantly lied straight to my face. I was in shock and pure disbelief of what is really going on with him. The first name of this Pharmacist's name started with a D. At this time, I am still on my other phone with my health plan pharm rep, the entire time with her waiting the entire time, each time she had to hang up and call back twice because nobody at the pharmacy would pick back up the phone after putting her on hold. I get Valarie oh the phone a pharm tech at this location and she was starting my to me it was so busy. However, unbeknown to them; my adult daughter is there observing all of this and hopefully the surveillance cameras in that store work. The pharmacist on duty decided, he personally was only giving me 7 days only, regardless of what my health plan authorized the full 60 days and said and they were the ones paying for my 60 day supply. He then told my adult daughter, he was only giving me 7 days too, while the Anthem health plan pharmacy rep was still on hold, after instructing him to give me 60 day supply and providing him the SCC override code. The Anthem Pharmacy Med D rep explained my eligibility and protocol and the pharmacist to give me my 60 days supply, he again refused. He claims to have 6 years experience as a pharmacist. I had my adult daughter sitting at the location to pick up my medication while the pharmacy staff put the Anthem rep on hold several times, with me on hold also with my health plan rep waiting . This went on for over an hour plus; the pharmacy then told my daughter he's only giving me 7 days supply of my medication again, even after the health plan pharmacy rep explained to him I can get 60 and he pretended he did not know what a SCC code was or he should know what it is as a pharmacist. The pharmacist also could've called another Rite Aid pharmacist at another location for colleague advisement or his supervisor etc. SCC codes are overrides and he refused to do it for Anthem, telling me take the 7 day supply for 37 cent, that's it and come back another day. I questioned why would the he put a medical plan pharmacy rep on hold like that for that long, the pharmacist told me he was busy, and all that was bothering him, his direct quote. My health plan was paying for my 60 days supply today, it's not his money and he's not my doctor who wrote the prescription to dictate what I get. Intentional, blatant disrespectful discriminatory treatment. I told him several times to void the T#}%# prescription and I would handle it tomorrow to get my full prescription filled like the health insurance rep advised him. The pharmacist said, so you going call me back tomorrow bothering me with this, I said isn't that your job , he said yes, but helping me get my full prescription was a bother to him according to him. He's in the wrong profession and how many other people have been treated like this at this location? A Valarie and Shay makes were given as tech in duty tonight with the pharmacist. A Investigation is warranted and Needed for this pharmacist and location ASAP read more
