*GLUTEN-FREE ALERT*…read more I'm just now learning what a Guatemalan quesadilla is & I want one every day for the rest of my life. Thankfully, we have Cafe Ava for that. A Guatemalan quesadilla is sorta like a cornbread or a pound cake or a piece of actual heaven. It's got a thick but soft texture, it's a little bit sweet & a little bit savory, & it's topped with sesame seeds. My mouth is watering just writing about it. Cafe Ava makes their Guatemalan quesadillas with rice flour, so they are gluten-free. GLUTEN FREE PERFECT LITTLE PIECES OF HEAVEN. Anyways, I know where I'm going tomorrow for breakfast.

After ordering my child was fussy and I went back up for a chocolate chip, banana bread muffin. The empanada was so good. I loved the guava and cheese combo. I never knew they paired so well together. I also really appreciated the flakey salt added. I also had The Goat with turkey bacon added. That was also so good. I love goat cheese and I love avocado toast so it was a great pairing. I snuck a bite of my son's banana bread muffin and that was also so good, I really liked how there was a good amount of chocolate in the muffin. The Banana Bread latte is a seasonal special apparently. I think that is a HUGE mistake. It should be a year round drink. Superb. No notes. I NEVER finish my coffee. I drank every single last sip. Easily in my top five favorite coffees. I truly hope this makes its way onto the menu. I will absolutely be back!

What a lovely bakery for baked goods and cozy vibes!…read more I enjoy sitting down in Seven Stars Bakery every now and then to work remotely. The Cranston location is very well kept, the staff are lovely and there's plenty of space to settle down. I love the open feel of this location with every corner having its own flair. The service for drinks is very quick. This Seven Stars location has such a charm to it - tons of natural lighting and the interior design feels timeless, classic and clean. There's an assortment of baked goods and ample options to choose from. My favorite items are the croissants and cheese danish both very airy and enjoyable with a cup of coffee. There's definitely something for someone. With a family of croissant connoisseurs I always leave with a box filled with these crescent shaped goods and they're just as tasty at home. If you're looking for classic bakery and coffee combos Seven Stars Bakery will have something to give you that morning boost. I enjoy the presentation of the pastries and the overall atmosphere of the cafe - clean, open and the perfect place to be productive. Seven Stars definitely deserves their name!

But she was so helpful and kind, not annoyingly so, a great customer service person. I tried the seasonal cinnamon/vanilla latte iced. It was very smooth, not too sweet but was indeed sweet. The inside is small with only a few tables and some counter seating, but I really like the design choices they made. The plants mounted to the wall and natural light are nice. The baristas are super friendly as well. For food and drinks, I ordered the iced black sesame hojicha latte and I added ube cold foam, and the sausage egg and cheese biscuit breakfast sandwich. I really enjoy the drinks here. The hojicha latte was quite tasty, not too sweet, and the nuttiness of the sesame came through. I have also ordered a hot latte on my first visit, which enjoyed a lot. The milk was steamed nicely and the espresso was smooth. Something to note, is that there are no ceramic mugs here, which is a bummer. The big thing for me that was a disappointment was the breakfast sandwich. It really felt and tasted like a frozen sandwich that was popped in the microwave. The biscuit was soft and limp, the sausage was that processed patty, and the egg was a premade flat circle. Overall, I think the drinks and lattes are really good and I would totally stop in for a pick me up any time, but definitely skip the food.

There was lots of parking available, but some of it is dedicated to the neighboring business so we parked a little further. The inside is big with lots of seating options, both high and low top. We wanted one of each drink from their fall menu but ultimately had to narrow it down to two: caramel apple butter cold brew and pumpkin horchata cortado (iced). The pumpkin horchata cortado just comes in one size and I think it was 12 oz. We got the caramel apple butter cold brew in a medium. We also ordered a corn muffin, buttered and toasted. While we waited, we secured high chairs along the wall facing the parking lot/ street. After a couple minutes, my name was called to collect my order. The pumpkin horchata cortado tasted darker than I expected, and I wish it had a stronger pumpkin flavor. The caramel apple butter cold brew was delicious and creamy. It did taste like apple pie a bit. In hindsight, I would've asked for it to be made less sweet, but that's just a preference thing. The corn muffin was tasty. It was warm, sweet, not dry, and had the signature grainy texture throughout. I think the total came out to about $16-$17 which is standard. The staff was friendly and answered my little questions about the drinks. I like that they open early and close late (for a coffee shop). I enjoyed the art on the walls, the plants, and the corny poems and signs.

I walked into a space that was clean and well kept, with a couple of tables and some board games available that gave it a slightly more social feel than a purely grab and go setup. The drink customization here is genuine rather than performative. Sugar levels and ice levels are both adjustable, and the staff actually followed through on my specifications, which is not universally true at boba shops that advertise the same options. I ordered the wintermelon milk tea, and it was a strong choice. The taro with black boba and milk foam, brown sugar bubble tea, and the strawberry milk tea are all consistent options that represent what the kitchen does well. The boba pearls are cooked in house, and the texture reflected that, with a chewiness that held up through my drink. This location reflects an average Gong Cha experience, and it does it well. For a reliable boba stop in the area with actual customization that works, Gong Cha delivers.
