Not only do they look like they barely survived the apocalypse, they also function like they barely survived the apocalypse. I try to insert my card, & it gets stuck about halfway through. Then it's a game - What will make the card fit? A different card insertion technique? Slower? Smoother? At a different angle? Aggressively smashing it into the machine? There seems to be no technique, though. It's just sheer luck that one of my infuriated attempts will finally work & my card will fit in the machine. Wrestling with the card machine will bring my cortisol levels up dangerously high. I'll take a big deep breath, choose my gas, & start to fill up my tank. It's at this moment, when my sanity is teetering on the edge of a cliff, that the screen on the pump comes to life & begins SCREAMING pestilent advertisements at me. I felt compelled though to write this review after reading all the negative reviews in my opinion not about the actual business, but about the customers lack of due diligence before accepting service. Yes, this place is both self and full service. Yesterday I pulled in, I live on the East Side of Providence so Mineral Spring isn't a place I normally find myself, but alas! There I was in need of gas. I pull in, it's pouring out so I pull next to a pump that's covered by the canopy when an older gentleman appeared next to my window asking if "I wanted full or self" then followed up by saying "full is $.90 extra a gallon". With that information I decided to pump my own gas. I moved to another pump, went inside where the gentleman and I said I didn't need to save the money (I do drive a German sports car) and how many people he has to tell on any given day. We then discussed the rain, the Patriots and how quickly Thanksgiving is approaching. All this under a minute after which I went outside, pumped my gas and left. I feel most of the reviews people are just mad for not actually paying attention and rather than accepting they may have made a mistake, they will take it out on the business itself.

Old time service…read more This is a crummy looking little gas station and garage right on Warwick Ave. No Dunkin Donuts, no Subway and no convenience store. Just a two bay garage and a couple of stinky pumps. What makes this place so special is the service. It is full service and even if it is pouring or snowing someone runs out and pumps your gas. The incredible thing is that they are always extremely pleasant and friendly about it. Always a hello or how ya doing. Last week it was raining and I was too damn lazy to get out and pump myself so I stopped here. The guy was his usual pleasant self and then looked down at one of my tires and told me it looked low. He said to pull over to the side and he would check it. Sure enough my truck had a tire that was about 10 pounds low. So, still in the pouring rain he put the air in. Damn! I'm so use to shitty service I actually felt guilty about what he was doing. I've never had any repairs done here but something tells me with service like that they probably are ridiculously honest. Certainly not much to look at but this place reminds me of the long forgotten service stations of 30 or 40 years ago. It's a rare and pleasant anachronism. A reminder of a simpler life now just a fading memory.
