Highly recommended!…read more My wife am I own an aging 1 bed/1 bath condo in Sunnyvale. I've been shopping around for months for a reasonable, honest and preferably independent plumbing service to replace the old degraded water supply line shutoff valves under our kitchen and bathroom sinks. Three never got back to me after initial contact and discussions. One seemed overpriced. Eddie / #1 Honest Plumber, on the other hand, was very responsive, honest, reasonably priced and pleasant to work with. I will definitely be contacting them again for any future plumbing concerns.

Highly recommended!…read more I needed help to finish a botched faucet removal and replacement done by a previous plumber (i.e., yours truly!). The job was complicated by 16 years of rust and hard water and pre-existing terrible cracked granite countertops that hadn't been sealed and protected well at all around the faucet area. Eddie was able to schedule me within 48 hours of my call and Jorge from #1 Honest Plumber showed up ready to go. He inspected the issues with my sink and gave me an extremely reasonable flat-price quote to do the work. I agreed and then watched as Jorge did a skillful surgery to excise what remained of the old faucet, patched up my terrible granite like a dentist would patch up a cavity, and installed and tested my new faucet and soap dispenser. Jorge was polite, friendly, professional, efficient, tidy, careful and didn't even roast me for my ham-fisted attempts at DIY work before he showed up. It doesn't get much better than that! Thanks, #1 Honest Plumber team. You guys had my back and I will 100% call you back again when I get in over my head on a plumbing job.

I sent Ivan a video, honestly expecting a quote and a pitch. He called me instead. He walked me through the whole video -- what I was looking at, how you tell ordinary staining apart from actual growth, what the age of the unit was telling us. Nobody else had bothered to explain any of it to me, including the people trying to charge me for it. Then he said the thing that made me trust him. If he swapped the heater out before the staining underneath got dealt with, I'd just be paying to have the same job done twice. He'd rather I handle that part first and bring him back after -- which meant less money for him today. He was also straight about which pieces weren't his trade instead of pretending he could cover everything. I'm new at all of this and completely clueless. I'm not handy, I ask a hundred questions, and I know how easy I'd be to take advantage of. Ivan was patient with every single one of them and sat there thinking through options with me that would've made him nothing. It's hard to find someone this genuine and this patient these days, and harder still in the trades. Someone who'll actively talk you out of spending money with him is rarer than that. If you're a first-time homeowner and nervous about getting taken for a ride, call Ivan. He's my plumber from here on.

We've used this plumber three times over the past five years and have consistently been satisfied with the quality of his work. In our previous experiences, the pricing was straightforward and reasonable -- a flat $250 per job, even when he had to snake multiple areas. That reliability is the reason we continued to use him. This most recent visit was different. The job took about three hours, which we understood could result in a higher cost, but there was no discussion beforehand about a change in pricing. Given that his last visit to our home was about two years ago, this would have been a good opportunity to proactively mention any updated rates. After the work was completed, we were surprised to learn that he now charges $225 per snake, bringing the total to $675. We appreciate that the issue was resolved and remain happy with the quality of the work. However, the lack of transparency around pricing this time was disappointing. Clear communication upfront would have made this a much better experience.
