Wow, just had work done by Speed Element and all I can say is this place has great customer service and work quality. I brought in some used Stance coilovers and Cusco rear lower control arms I purchased/received from friends. As you know, you don't know what you get when installing used parts. One of the lower control arms could not be adjusted as it had siezed. They tried everything to loosen it to adjust camber while trying to do an alignment on my car. Unfortunately, they were unable to loosen it so my camber was set. They aligned the car the best they could to match the camber. Because they wanted to do the installation and alignment the right way, they spent all day working on this on a Friday even though it should have taken about 2 hours. I had brought the car in at 10am when they opened. When it rains, it pours. Not only did we have issues with the LCAs but the Stance CoilOvers had issues where they were built incorrectly. We weren't able to adjust the camber much on the fronts and the Speed Element guys caught this. They had to remove the coilovers, rebuild them properly and re-install and align. They gave the car back to me late Friday night and asked me to come back so they can work on the issues. I made another appointment for Wednesday the following week. At this stage, I decided to buy new rear lower control arms instead of keeping the siezed ones on. I didn't want to run the aggressive camber setting on my rears as I wanted to save the tires. They took care of me by giving me a very competitive price on new Stance LCAs and installation. All in all, I'm very happy with the extra effort that Devin, Jason, and Ryan provided to me. I've been modding/tuning cars with aftermarket parts for the past 25 years and it's hard to find a reliable shop that does quality work and treats your car like their own. I've found my shop. I have no issues driving all the way out from Tracy to have them work on my car. It's well worth the drive and quality. read more

I just received my new aftermarket exhaust and needed to install somewhere. SpeedElement over the phone offered a great price and they looked like a good place due to all the sport cars that stop here. I arrived and they were really nice, the waiting room had a comfortable couch, free wifi, and lots of magazines. It only look 45 min for them to do the job and they were kind enough to ask me about my old exhaust of what to do with it. I brought my old MBZ diesel to them to get it lowered. This was my first car I have owned (since 98) so there is some sentimental value to it and I don't let to many people work on it. I have always wanted to lower it and it took me 15 years to pull the trigger on it. When I dropped it off I told Devin to "make it look good" and him and his team delivered perfectly. Horrible experience ordered a lip online for my BMW 335 received the item and it didn't fit on the car even though I told them exactly what car I had. Contacted them to let them know the lip wasn't right and they told me I could ship the item back minus a 35% restocking fee even though the item was still brand new and never installed. After about a week later they messaged me again and told me that the lip I was looking for was out of stock and that it was past the 5 day return window now even though I had contacted them and waiting to get a response back. First of all, I would like to shout out Devin, Jason and Codi for working with me through my car troubles! I came to Speed Element in December to have them diagnose what I believed to be rod knock on my motor. Sure enough it was knocking and Devin ran me through my options. I ended up opting for a complete rebuild of the motor with slightly upgraded internals. Devin guided me throughout the build and recommended parts I should purchase to prolong the life of my motor. He didn't just recommend them either, he explained why he recommended them and even threw in a couple of his past customer experiences with them. He didn't just want to sell me on another part, he just wanted to see the car in healthy working condition. I was quoted during my first visit and Devin told me he would periodically contact me to update me during the build and if there were any problems. I expected there to be more problems with my car and there definitely was, I was prepared for that. Devin took the time out of his day to talk to me on the phone and asked me what I wanted to do. When my block was at the machine shop he also updated me on how far along it was. Throughout each stage of the build, I was contacted by Devin. When the car was completed Devin stated that he would keep the car for an extra day to drive it around and ensure everything was in complete working condition. That made me feel so much better as a customer because the previous shop that I had build my motor didn't do that (or even update me on how the build is going for that matter). I like that SE cares about their customers, A+++ My total bill was higher than the original quote, but I expected that. My car wasn't exactly the healthiest, but I knew SE would take care of me and make things in working/healthy condition again. I know some of the previous reviews stated that their builds took a while, but I understood that this is a high traffic shop and customers are always returning for something to be built or installed. I have faith in SE which is why I chose them for my build. Loyal customer since 2008 and I will definitely be returning for my car needs. This is a late review, but I wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with my car before writing this (in case I had to take the car back). So here it goes: I dropped off my 350z on 08/18/2014 to potentially remove some performance parts that were installed on the car. About a week later I was told by one of the service writers (Also named Ryan) that the work would take 16 hours and would be done within two business days after the shop started on my car. I authorized them to make the repairs shortly after the quote. Fast forward to 01/16/15, Speed Element still had my car and states a new excuse every time I call for an update. Yes, my car has been sitting there for 5 months, I have never received a phone call from the shop letting me know the progress on the repairs. I called Speed Element on 01/12/14 and Ryan stated that my car was completed and ready for pick up. I went to pick up the car on 01/13/14 and found my car to be no where near driving condition. Ryan was not there, but another service writer named Jason apologized for the mis-communication and promised a Technician would work on the car on 01/15 to 01/16 to complete the work by the weekend. I called the shop on 01/16 to make sure my car was on schedule and Jason said his Technician got hurt on 01/15 and couldn't work on the car. I am paying $120 a month for insurance on my car just to have it sit at their shop. I am already out $600 paying insurance on a repair that was originally quoted two business days. 5 months is a very unreasonable amount of time and Speed Element was still no where near being finished. A few days later my car is finally ready for pick up. Initial quote on the work was $1600. When I go into the office to pay they hit me with a $2400 invoice!?!?! They stated that it took longer than expected. It sure did take longer, it took what you stated 2 days, nearly 6 months to complete?!?! During the entire duration you never called to say, "Hey, this is gonna be more work that first quoted, do you authorize this additional labor?" Needless to say, I will not be coming back here. read more

I was recommended by a good friend to come here and get the AC in my car checked out. Dragged my boyfriend as well since his car had been blowing hot air long for far too long. Very professional and straightforward employees that gave me a good sense of what to expect in terms of cost, wait time, and the entire process of what they were going to do to troubleshoot the AC to maximize its performance and save me from the impending heat wave. Everything was done in exactly the time frame they told me. Not only did they find the problem and fix it, they also went above and beyond to double check my boyfriend's tire pressures because they saw it was low. Came here for a Mechanical Boost Gauge Install back in October. They charged me $100 flat for the install. After 3 weeks the gauge stopped picking up boost. Took my car back to these guys, after inspection, they said that there was nothing wrong with the vacuum lines, that the gauge was faulty. Got a replacement from GlowShift despite them claiming that the original gauge worked. Took the new gauge to Tech3 and they said that the vacuum line was faulty. Sure enough they were right. He showed me 2 sources that vacuum is picked up from back the extension from the T that Speed Element worked on has as leak/faulty. Tech3 then connected a vacuum line from another source to show that the gauge was working. Don't go to these guys. read more

My GPS points me to the wrong location, those but you can easily find them on Rogers with all the nice colorful cars parked out front. I made an appointment with Tom to get my coilovers installed and he was quite courteous over the phone. Their scheduling is a bit tight but usually they can squeeze you in. When I arrived there were a few other guys waiting in the waiting room for their cars. They were running a little behind, but insured me that my car would be done today. I did not purchase my coilovers from them so i can not comment on their product pricing, but i'm sure theyre competitve. The lobby area is quite neat - with a flat screen tv that you can watch movies on. Apart from all the magazine spreads on the walls and trophies for you to admire, they have a wide variety of automobile magazines on the table for you to pass time. Wifi is free for guests so bring your laptops or ipad if you need to do work. For those that just want to relax - they have a beautifully designed saltwater and freshwater tank for you to view as well. anyhow - after some time, they finished the coilover install and took me on a few test drives to see how i like it. the tech even assisted me with some of the height adustmnent and made sure i liked the ride height. for those that are afraid of rubbing your wheels due to your agressive fitment - Speedelement does fender rolling too. cheers. read more

The staff was nice and direct, had my car in and out within about an hour for an alignment. However for being a shop with lots of enthusiast racers and drifters I was surprised that they don't let customers into the shop space to observe. I had an alignment done here and I found my steering rack boots twisted up and torn after the alignment. The steering rack was brand new. Bummer. Exactly why I like watching people work on my car. 2 stars for being nice but I was expecting it to be a clean job, otherwise I'd take my car to any old Goodyear place for $60. read more

I was referred by a friend to go here to have my brakes changed and my thermostat fixed cause the check engine light was on. I normally get services done at the BMW dealer, but didn't wanted to pay and arm and a leg for it. Plus I don't trust any mechanic. The brakes are awesome and my check engine light is off now due to the P0597 thermostat diagnosis, which they fixed. Pretty late review here. I came into the shop and worked with Kyle and Devin late 2016. I had a leaky valve on my 2009 WRX, which meant that my car had to go under the knife with an engine rebuild. They went over the options that I could proceed with, and the prices ranged from $4500 - $10000+. Yes, I could have just isolated the leaking valve and reused some existing parts for an even cheaper price, but the safer bet was to install a new gasket set, studs, etc. Plus I had them install my timing belt kit that I pre-purchased online prior to this issue at no extra charge. I had some recall issues with the dealership as well that they helped me take care of. One negative thing I should add is, depending on the job that is needed, it might take some time for them to get around to finally finish your car. They started working on it early December and I didn't get it back until late January. They notified me that they are busy with other jobs or that their machine shop was taking unusually long. However, I feel that I shouldn't deduct a star that because their customer service really does make up for it. All-in-all: you can trust these guys, they'll help you when they can, and their prices very reasonable. (I think it was $80-$90/hr of labor?) But if you have a big job, then expect a long turn around time. read more
