In searching for someone to greatly supplement our child's in-school speech therapy sessions, I had the good fortune to discover Nicole Lombardi and Speech Matters, LLC. Nicole is an extremely accessible, qualified, caring professional, who's always on top of any changes in our daughter's program. She set a very positive tone from the first time we spoke on the phone, and worked hard to ensure we'd get much better coverage from our insurance carrier.
All of the SM therapists we've had the pleasure of knowing have been conscientious, kind, and flexible when schedule conflicts arise. A newer, summer component ("pre-COVID 19") was an optional series of small group sessions for kids of the same age, held at a meeting room in the Ludington Library. Our youngest, who has so often been resistant to one-on-one and small group speech therapy in school, looks forward to her "conversation classes" with her therapist (presently through Zoom) and very much enjoyed the special summer events. She has fun and doesn't feel embarrassed or isolated from her more typical peers, because her therapist wisely weaves our child's specific areas of interest into their sessions. As a result, our daughter's skill levels have improved considerably and been happily noted by many. Thank you, Nicole and all Speech Matters Staff for continuing to provide our family with your extraordinary support! read more
