After several months of overpaying for Spectrum's internet service, I decided to disconnect because I changed from Spectrum to AT&T. I was paying Spectrum $89.99 for the lowest speed and least expensive internet (according to the sales person who I initially spoke with).
During cancellation, I found out that there were several other options that were much less expensive. Additionally, since I called 3 days into the billing cycle, I found out that they would not provide a back-pay credit prorated to the amount of service usage. It is standard to prorate the amount of service charges to the amount of time, in most industries--including cellular & internet services. Therefore, I will now have to pay for the remainder of the billing cycle in full, although I will not be utilizing this service during that time frame. (This is not something that Spectrum will inform you about during the initial conversations that you have with them).
I would recommend not to do business with Spectrum. They use the Verizon network, and unfortunately in this area, that is not the best coverage. If you choose to go with Spectrum or Verizon, it would be wise to check the coverage map prior to finalizing your decision. Best of luck, and I hope this review is helpful for those who are still deciding to choose a cell phone carrier. read more
