A special shoutout to James, who deserves an award for his patience alone. He answered every question I had (even the ones I asked twice) with clarity and kindness, making a stressful situation feel surprisingly manageable. If you're drowning in tax worries, Alleviate Tax is the life raft you need. Highly recommend!

1 STAR -- OVER $13,000 PAID, 8 YEARS OF TAX RETURNS STILL NOT FILED -- I WANT MY MONEY BACK ASAP…read more If you are considering hiring Alleviate Tax, please read about my experience first. I have paid Alleviate Tax MORE THAN $13,000 over the last couple of years to help take care of eight years of back taxes. After paying all of that money, NOT ONE of those eight years has been filed. What makes this even more unbelievable is that I have done the majority of the work MYSELF. I gathered and submitted all of my tax documents. I went through years of records. I completed the bookkeeping. I organized the income and business expenses. I even went through and completed the Schedule C information for ALL EIGHT YEARS. So what exactly have I paid more than $13,000 for? I have repeatedly called Alleviate Tax, left voicemails, sent emails, and asked for updates. I have been trying to get someone to communicate with me and explain what is going on, and I am not getting the responses or progress that I should be getting after paying this company more than $13,000. Meanwhile, THEY CONTINUE TAKING MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT. More than $13,000 paid. Eight years of tax documents provided. Countless hours of bookkeeping and preparation completed BY ME. And I am STILL sitting here with eight years of back taxes that have not been filed. I hired Alleviate Tax because I needed professional help resolving my tax situation. I did not pay over $13,000 so that I could do the majority of the work myself and then spend my time repeatedly calling, emailing, leaving voicemails, and trying to track someone down for answers. At this point, I have had enough. I WANT MY MONEY BACK ASAP. I am requesting a refund of the money I have paid for services that I expected to result in my back tax returns being prepared and filed. I also want a complete, itemized accounting showing exactly where my $13,000+ has gone, what services Alleviate Tax claims have been completed, and why none of my eight years of back tax returns have been filed despite my providing the requested documentation. This has caused me an unbelievable amount of frustration and stress. I trusted this company to help me resolve a serious tax situation, and after more than $13,000, I am still dealing with the same eight unfiled years. Based on MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, I cannot recommend Alleviate Tax. If you are considering hiring this company, PLEASE get everything in writing before paying them or agreeing to recurring withdrawals. Ask exactly what they will do, what each service costs, when your tax returns will actually be filed, and what happens to your money if the work is not completed. I wish I had done that from the beginning. Alleviate Tax: I have provided the documents, I have done the bookkeeping, I have completed the Schedule C information, and I have paid you more than $13,000. My eight years of back taxes are still not filed. I WANT MY MONEY BACK ASAP.

Communication was excellent ... quick, clear, and at just the right level. Most of my questions were answered quickly through their portal or via a quick call. Their portal is easy to use & efficient. I liked that I could actually see how each document was used, with markers showing exactly where numbers were pulled from in the PDFs. Their fee was reasonable, and I believe I more than made that back through their expertise. They caught items that my previous tax preparer missed, which made a real difference. If your taxes involve more than just basic W-2s or 1099s, I highly recommend working with a knowledgeable CPA like Sam. She and Stan are both great to work with. ------------ NOTE: This review is entirely my own and written solely at my own initiative. No one asked or incentivized me to write it, and I have no prior relationship. I wrote it myself from scratch, and I did not use any artificial intelligence tools to write or edit it.

Unfortunately, I have to come back and update my review after years of using Oliver's services and…read moresending at least two referrals his way. Oliver gave me dates and times he's available, and after I selected and confirmed a time, I was ignored for two days. When he finally responded, he told me that the appointment time was given away by his assistant. Despite it being "first come, first serve", the time I claimed first was given to someone who contacted them after me. Now he has no more evening appointments, because they were booked up during the two days he ignored me. The sooner I file my taxes, the sooner I can get my refund to put toward my kitchen remodel. I don't feel it's fair at all to tell me that I need to pick a new date and time, when I requested the booking first. I guess the person who got the appointment time was more important than me. Obviously, this was disheartening after all the business I brought this place between me and my referrals. ***In response to your comment Oliver, I understand that family emergencies happen. However, why am I the one that needs to pick an alternative date or time when I selected the date first? It should be the person that called after me that should reschedule... this is assuming that it's "first come, first serve "as you stated in your email. Second, I also have a client facing career. I recently had a medical emergency come up... that is not foreign to me. However, I utilize an out of office response as a means to notify my clients when there is an absence or extenuating circumstance. Had you set up an out of office encouraging clients to call your assistant to book an appointment, I would have most certainly done so. Instead you left me in the dark and booked someone else during my designated time. It's a lack of customer service that cost you my business. You booked someone else during my time, and instead of apologizing, you made excuses. Even in your response to this review, you state, "I'm sorry you felt..." instead of apologizing for your mistake. My feelings have nothing to do with it.

Last year I had started a Corporation and thought it was time to find a CPA closer to me here in California. After searching for many CPA's in my surrounding area and reading many reviews, I decided to give Nick from The CPA Corner my business. Let me tell you, I definitely made the right choice. He prepared my taxes for my corporation and my personal taxes. Nick and his staff are very professional and friendly. Nick explained everything and answered every question that I asked. I was really stressed about finding a new CPA since I've had used the same one for the pass 23 years. Thank you Nick for easing that stress. Michael

He is rude and expects to be paid for the tiniest question. I gave them a 4 star rating after meeting with Nick the first time and getting established. I wasn't ready to rate them yet as they had done nothing but Nick kept calling me for a review and then when I gave them 4 stars he BADGERED me until I grudgingly changed it to 5 stars as he kept asking. I just wanted him to leave me alone. FINALLY, my husband agreed to stop using them. We needed some records from the past and asked for those to be sent to us. We were required to pay $60 for OUR ELECTRONIC RECORDS because we were no longer clients. I suspect that was illegal but we just want to be done with this place.

She gained my…read moretrust until she gave me the additional fee of $3,100 after paying for the fee of $350 (with a different specialist) to get my IRS records, which was fine. She gave me hope, but at the time, I was facing eviction from my apartment and going through divorce proceedings as well as loss of income due to this divorce and other medical circumstances. I told Faye I could not afford to make anymore payments and would reach out when circumstances were better. Little did I know that several weeks later an additional $600 plus dollars would be taken from my checking account. My bank couldn't help me because it was an ACH draft. I called SafewayTax and pleaded for my funds to be reimbursed. I sent my eviction notice and explained that I told Faye Vinock that I was going through very bad financial hardship. It fell on deaf ears. I was told that the only person who was authorized to request a reimbursement process was Luis Ceja, Operations Director. I reached out to him and explained my financial situation and explained that I also had a 16 year old child who depends on me for food and shelter. This money was removed on January 6, 2026 and my business relationship began in November or December of 2025. Fast forward, after begging and pleading for these funds to be reimbursed, Luis Ceja, in good faith drafted an Agreement for Reimbursement. I signed it and asked that the money be placed back into my account through my ZELLE REGISTERED account. He agreed. It is now May 5, 2026, and I have been gaslighted, lied to that they mailed the check, but it was returned undeliverable. I asked for proof, but they refused to send me proof. $600 plus may seem like something insignificant, but to a single mom with a 16 year old child, facing eviction and financial hardship, this is significant. I reached out to anyone and everyone at SafewayTax, but no one can do anything. I sent loads of emails, text messages, voicemail messages and calls but no response and my calls are not answered by Luis Ceja. The billing department simply tell me they will give the message. I learned my lesson and thought good-faith business practices and ethics still existed. I was scammed, nothing could be delivered because I was not able to pay the subsequent fees each month which would have been about $180 plus for the next year. I'm sorry for all of you who have been scammed by this SafewayTax business. They can't deliver but thrive on victims like me. One last thing, I tried reaching out through LinkedIn, sent messages to the CEOs, left comments about Luis Ceja but they removed my comments immediately. Bad for their scam tactics. I'm sure this was not SafewayTax's intention to scam people, things just didn't appear as well as we envisioned and the business couldn't deliver.
