My wife and I had been using TurboTax for years,…read morebut after experiencing several major life changes in a short period, we found ourselves in a complicated tax situation. Unfortunately, TurboTax's summary of our filing did not help us identify the issue. This year, we decided to hire a CPA, which is how we found Monica. We explained our situation and sent her our tax documents via a secure Dropbox. Within a week, Monica reviewed our information, filed our taxes, and pinpointed the issue that had caused the confusion. Thank you, Monica--we look forward to working with you in the future!

I don't recommend this place - getting charged over $175 to scan documents and send to an email…read more They're thieves and I'm not saying this because I want to bad mouth anyone but this is insane. I work in law and scanning a document shouldn't be charged whether it's one page or 1,000 pages If their machine is slow as they claimed over the phone then why should the client be penalized then excuses it with "well my employee stood there for two hours!" So what?! That's why she's your employee that you hired to provide a service for an hourly wage. Not in my years of experience doing immigration work or personal injury work have I ever charged struggling families for this. That's not right. I can only imagine the insane amount they charge for getting your taxes done here. These are hard time for immigrant families, this is not the time to be greedy. Actually it never is the time.

She charges a fair price and helped me get a substantial refund last year. Cuz of an annoying K-1 that always comes late, I have to file an extension every year, but she has been appropriately conservative in estimating the amount I should pay both the IRS and FTB just in case on Apr 15, making my refunds even more pleasant of a surprise lol. She's also helped me with my dad's tax returns. Thank you! P.S. I think I already alluded to this earlier, but to emphasize in this day and age of stupid inflation: her prices are very reasonable, at least based on what I just read chatGPT says I should expect for our return's degree of complexity. Shoot, does that mean if she reads this she will raise her rates? I hope not hehe

I contacted Dora during the midst of the tax season and she got things moving forward so quickly and even allowed me to submit my documents via their portal. Even helped me find a better living trust attorney as my current one is lazy and doesn't even bother to reply on his phone. She also pointed me in the direction of where to find registered agent to open my LLC across state line because lets face it, California kind of suck for having a business when you can open it in Delaware or Wyoming. They replied and said just send what they ask for. No problem. Turns out, Express Tax Help messed up my taxes and now I owe $3k in federal taxes. I called them again to verify and ask what I can do. No call back. I texted. I emailed. Called again and left a voicemail. Still nothing. They completely ghosted me. This was over several months, and I had to keep asking the IRS to extend because Express Tax Help was not calling me back. I was incredibly disappointed with the lack of service. I was going to them for the last 10 years. They ghosted a loyal client who they now have forever lost. The refunds are great until you get audited, and they drop you like you were nothing. Not worth it in my opinion. Take accountability for your mistake. Don't screw over a loyal client.
