I heart Spectrum! We've had Spectrum/Charter for over 17 years now and it's been nearly hassle free! We live in a rural area and do not have many options from which to select for internet: enter Spectrum. Of course, we experience the occasional 2-10 minute "outages;" but for the most part we have a very stable internet thanks to Spectrum. At one time, years ago, they had to work on the physical cables that connect to our house and it was a little disruptive. The outcome was a much more stable connection! I do not dread calling Spectrum's customer service. Every interaction is pleasant and informative! The staff walks you through trouble shooting steps and stays on line with you the entire time, no matter how time intensive the steps are. They respond quickly during outages and will text your phone when the outage is resolved. Spectrum for me is an easy five stars! read more

Spectrum has some nice stores that accept walk in customers. I was in the neighborhood and had some questions. They have the typical process for getting on the list to speak to the customer service representative. My service is including more and more popular channels like Disney and Max. I'm learning how to use my Spectrum TV app to watch my favorite shows. During the day I've got continuous drilling from facade work on my building. Watching on the iPad I can carry it to the kitchen and the speakers are up close so I can hear! I'm still giving them only three stars. They are very good at maintaining the equipment and providing me with the remote control I requested. It's just upsetting that I pay $190 a month for WiFi and TV when TV was free when I was growing up. Cable is the only way for me to get transmission with the buildings around me and steel fire doors. I tried an antenna and couldn't get reception. I'm very fortunate I can afford to pay the bill for now. What the future of my relationship with Spectrum will be is definitely an unknown. read more

Went to pay my bill here, store is very unorganized, most workers are very lazy and rude especially the want to be manager! I do not know whom to communicate with concerning this matter. My parents are seniors 76. & 83 in a fixed income. They reside in Durham, NC. They use Spectrum. There bill was ridiculously high. They should try to get something for seniors with special pricing. I called earlier and spoke with a sales rep by the name of Mike. He was amazing. He reduced my parents bill and worked with us to get them something they wouybe happy with. Spectrum should hire more reps like this young gentleman. This is a fake wannabe Apple store/service. We went to this place to replace a router and the rep said they don't replace routers or any kind of equipment. They do not have any cable or internet equipment at this location. They do not answer the phone or provide proper customer service. This is a new store and it is poorly run. I needed to exchange my cable box because it wasn't working but I couldn't detach the cable cord so a technician needed to come to my home instead of my bringing the box to the store. The customer service person I spoke with over the phone scheduled the appointment for the next day between 8 am-9 am. I received a text message he was on the way and he was done within a half hour. He left his phone number in case there were any questions after he left. The only downside was Spectrum couldn't credit me for the month I couldn't use my cable due to the broken box. read more

I was a past customer of spectrum and recently returned. I have had to visit the 125th street location on numerous occasions rather it was picking up equipment or returning equipment. This review is for the location on 125th Street in Harlem and speaks specifically to the unprofessionalism of a manager there named Mathew. I was in town the weekend of 3/1/24 and desperately needed to sort out a phone issue for my mother. She had been hospitalized for several months and for the last 5 or 6 weeks had no phone service. Phone reps insisted it was the medical equipment in the hospital, but once she was moved to a nursing home, things did not improve, so I decided to go into a store to find out what was going on. I spoke with a CSR who gave me an appointment at this store but said that since it sounded like my mother needed a new SIM card, tell them when I got there and it might be something they could do quickly without my having to wait. I was sent a link to check in on my phone. I was there with about 15 other people when they opened their doors. As we all waited in line, a big guy walked past us up to Mathew. He said he needed replacement remote controls. Since Mathew took this man ahead of all of us, I thought he was there to handle quick situations, so I said, "Oh, I was told that I probably need just a SIM card." He said he would be right with me and went in the back and came out with several remote controls but those were the wrong ones. Mathew said he would go check again. In the meantime, I tried to check in at the kiosk because a rep kept telling me to, ignoring my saying that I had tried my phone. When I tried on the kiosk, I got the same message that I was early for my appointment. I told her that I did not know if that meant I was checked. She walked away. I don't know what happened in the back, but when Mathew returned - drinking a beverage - he and the big man had a back-and-forth. The customer said he needed to do something else and would return soon. Mathew became flustered telling the customer that it would not take long so give him some time. They went back and forth a few times and then the customer walked away. Mathew turned to the young lady who asked me to check in and made several remarks about the customer. I started walking over to Mathew and immediately - he started rudely speaking to me telling me that I needed to wait. I said, "Ok - I just want to make sure I was in the right place." He kept raising his voice, talking AT me rudely - and I put up my hands and said, "OK - I heard you. I am not rushing you." He kept talking and huffing and by this time, other people are staring at me. I said, "Look, I am not the one who made you mad!" He huffed and stared at me like he was about to say something else before walking away, mumbling something to his coworker. She then rudely asked if I had checked in. I told her the same thing I said the last time. She kept insisting I check in at the kiosk. I stood next to the kiosk but tried again to check in on my phone. My name popped up on a screen on the wall - and she arrogantly said, "NOW you are checked in." I did not have enough energy to explain to this child that the kiosk had nothing to do with this. I think a young man named Isaac helped me. If I have his name incorrect, I apologize because he was SO professional and patient. I explained that I was from out of town - only had one day to get this situation resolved for my mother. He had to call customer service several times because the problem was much more complicated than I was originally told it might be. While he worked on this, Mathew crept over because he heard me ask Isacc for their manager's information. When I saw Mathew, I asked his name - he turned sideways and quickly walked into the back so I could not get it. Again, he was sipping on a drink - very unprofessional. I got his name anyway and spoke with CS. When he returned, he started talking about me to other employees. It seemed like he was now trying to gain their support because I heard him say s I was trying to cost him his job. I told the CSR what I could hear say and told her how ridiculous he sounded. The issue was simple - Mathew is a scrawny White dude working in Harlem - and when the big Black guy skipped a bunch of people in line, Mathew accommodated him instead of telling him to wait in line with the rest of us. Then when things turned sour during their exchanges, Mathew was scared to stand up to him - so he turned his weak machismo towards me. I, in turn, chose not to meet that energy because I had more pressing things on my mind and I just wanted to resolve this for my mother before leaving town in the morning. But he did not expect me to call CS in front of him and publicly report what had happened. There was no reason to be concerned about losing one's job if one was DOING their job. And that was not why I called CS anyway - but how arrogant and ignorant of you to be a guest in MY community, speak to me disrespectfully, especially while you are AT work, and expect for me to be silent. read more

I went to the 125th St. office of SPECTRUM to turn in a cable box and use my smart tv to stream programs which would reduce my bill by $10 monthly. The rep I had tried to upsell me other services, telling me that is what I needed to do to reduce my bill. She said turning in the cable box would not count. I needed to add a phone or go pick a tablet from the displays and I would have free phone service on the tablet. ??? This made absolutely no sense, and I kept going over with her that it seemed nonsensical, that I would have to add service to get a reduction in my bill. All the while she was typing away on the keyboard of her computer set up. I had to ask what she had been typing since we hadn't done anything. She just nodded and gave no intelligible response. In the end, I left with the cable box that I had come to drop off because what she was saying was ridiculous. I did not want a landline number which was another "cost savings" she suggested. Even if I was not going to ever plug the phone in and neither did I want a tablet that would have a phone number connected to it. I simply came in to turn in the cable box and have my monthly spectrum charges reduced by $10.00. I had spoken to CUSTOMER SERVICE on the phone before going to the office and they assured me that if I turn the cable box in my bill would go down by $10.00. When I returned home from my visit to the office, I phoned customer service again, and was told emphatically that if I returned the cable box, I would get a reduction in my bill. They couldn't understand why the person at the office would've told me the things she did. Today I used another option. The customer service people I spoke to on the phone told me I could take the cable box to any UPS physical location and they would return it to SPECTRUM for free. read more

I needed a replacement modem ASAP, walked into this store and the staff was accommodating and helpful right off the bat. The staff was on-point from the moment I walked in. Navigating 125th can be a thing... but this was truly a painless experience I thought was going to be a headache. Chris was not only helping customers check in, but helped me get a new modem in less than 2min. 1. I wish I had checked the stores ratings before going there. The service is every bit as terrible as the other commenters have stated.I lost my Android and purchased an iphone12 from Spectrum (I already had their cell service). 2. Customer service failed to tell me iphone 12 DOES NOT come with a charger. So I get home, phone charge is at 50% and dies later that evening 3.I return to the store the next day to get a charger but of course they don't have any. I pick one up at the VERIZON store. 4. The day I purchase the phone the rep told me I needed to provide an alternate email address and a code would be sent so I could access my gmail since I didn't know my password (it was in my contacts on my phone) and then I enter the code when I try to reset my gmail. I provide alternate email address and no email is sent. 5. When I returned to the store for the charger I ask if I can change the email code is sent to. Then answer is "no." I ask rep to RECONFIRM the process. I am a code would be sent to an alternate email address so I could access my gmail 6. I get home still no code is received. I call Spectrum customer service and get this THEY HAVE NO IDEA OF WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!!! I ask them to call the store. THEY HAVE NO PHONE NUMBER FOR THE STORE!!! NO EMAIL ADDRESS - NOTHING!!! 7.Overall, customer service seemed to just want to get customers out of their face as quickly as possible. 8. At no time did I see more than 2 customer service people. Yet, there were nearly a dozen people waiting 9.Finally, this store is in Harlem and chain stores ALWAYS provide the WORST service in black communities. WHY? BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
