Spectrum Spectrum how do I love thee let me count the ways! My bill went up $4. I didn't even check to see why because I don't feel like fighting with them right now. Then yesterday my daughter asks me if I signed up for the free Disney Plus I'm eligible to receive as a Spectrum customer. As soon as she told me the movie I want to see called Summer of Soul was showing I knew I had to sign up. I'm Happy that the process is easy using the Spectrum email I received. After I followed the instructions it let me download the app to my iPad. I'm praying I don't have to log in every time I watch something. My router went out, and I had to get it replaced. There was a long line and they were really understaffed but they were really kind. It seemed to take way too long to be helped but once they called out my name I was in and out in no time. The employees were very efficient, and I would say that I wouldn't have any issues returning if I have any further problems with my internet. read more

I cannot say enough about how positive my experience was at this Spectrum location! The store manager, Leini Franco, and her associate, Justin Lavezzari, helped fix problems caused by Spectrum Mobile's horrible online/phone sales department. A Spectrum phone sales rep talked me into buying a new phone for my mother, but neglected to tell me about a 14-day return policy, after which I would be stuck with the phone. Due to a family emergency, I wasn't able to return the phone within the 14 days. Not only did Spectrum phone/online services tell me I was sh*t out of luck, they actually suggested I sell it online (knowing full well the phone was locked by Spectrum and thus nearly impossible to sell). Leini and Justin spent over an hour trying to get Spectrum online/phone services to take my phone back and were finally able to do so successfully, despite evety effort by their Spetrum colleagues to block them from doing so. This was not a phone they sold me; they did it because they knew their colleagues were not providing me with the customer service I deserved as a 31-year Spectrum customer. Thank you, Leini and Justin! And Spectrum management, if you're reading this, it is only because of them that I'm remaining a Spectrum Mobile customer. After reading Yelp reviews, we went to the Spectrum store in NYC on West 23rd Street in Manhattan (even though there are two others closer to us). Shirley had been highly recommended, and luckily she was there and we got her! She was GREAT - we transferred our two cells from Verizon (more expensive) to Spectrum (she did the SIM cards, etc), and she even turned us on to some discount and bundling services. We followed up and sure enough, it worked and she even remembered us when I called to confirm a few days later. So, ASK FOR SHIRLEY when you go to the 23rd Steet store! Years ago, I remember almost going to court over the bad service Time Warner provided. When I moved to New York City, I expected Spectrum (Time Warner's new company name) to be far worse. But quite the contrary, I actually found this company to provide me excellent service. When I ran into a housing situation, I had to move to my own apartment fast. As a student, I needed internet connection to access my study materials. I was in my new apartment on a Friday afternoon, and I had a technician set up my internet within 24 hours of that. Fast forward a bit, I decide to take a leave of absence from school. So now I had a whole new logistical challenge. It turned out that Spectrum gave me a relatively hassle-free time when I called to cancel my service. They informed me where to turn in my equipment, and they strongly recommended I make an appointment. I was able to make an appointment at the local office, for the exact day and time I needed. I showed up to the office five minutes before they opened for the day, and I turned it everything and closed out my account in less than a ten minute span. I will admit, that when Time Warner became Spectrum, I thought it was another publicity stunt to hide their bad service. But from personal experience, I did notice a considerable improvement in their internet connectivity and customer service. I hope the folks who run the state of New York and NYC reconsider kicking them out of the area, as I wouldn't mind reactivating service with them once I'm back in town to continue my studies where I left off. read more

I went in to rerun my router to cancel my subscription. I had to sign in and gave me Teo options Spanish or English. What the heck let's do Spanish. Awful the representative started yelling at me he does not understand why I was there for because it was all in Spanish. I replied no problem I can do English. He went on complaining and I finally said. If it's such an inconvenience to you how come there is a Spanish option. You should just omit that and leave it in English. To conclude. The representative had an attitude and was unwilling to explain anything or answer any of my questions about billing. I asked him about an issue with my billing and he just stood there. Time Warner Cable has always disappointed me. Mainly due to their wireless connections, but this time it's with their drop off policy. I came to this location to drop off my cable box and internet modem and when I arrived it was PACKED. I was given number #96 and they were only on #12! I had to wait an hour and a half just to drop off equipment. There were at least 80 people crammed into the store, the majority of them had to stand. It looked like some people just gave up and left their equipment in the back. The only redeeming quality of this location was that they played the World Cup game on their large flat screen TVs. That made the process a little more bearable. In regards to TWC in general, I truly don't understand if they can go to your home and install the equipment, why make the customer go out of their way to return it to a store! It's as if they entice new customers with the convenience of installation, but punish them for wanting to disconnect by forcing them to deliver it in person. It's a shame TWC has essentially taken over apartment buildings in New York City. If my building allowed it, I would switch to Verizon FIOS in a heartbeat. read more

With that said, I see that this place is trying to do their best, but there's a demand that's bigger than this location can handle. This service center clearly shows that more TWC centers are needed in Manhattan. Living uptown and having to come down here just doesn't make sense. Very disappointing experience - all I need is for people to get their job one as they should have, I visited today afternoon to get my WiFi set up, I get a modem and a router. The woman who helped me on site was cool and she's very pleasant at least, she told me I was charged a 10 dollar more this time for activation so I agreed, no issue with that. Then I got home, installed everything as the manual said, it didn't work. Ok I reset them using the app and reset them manually, not working and waited more than two hours, feeling stupid; then I happened to check on some unrelated button and it led me to a webpage to actually "activate" the service! I don't understand the negatives. I arrived on a Friday afternoon at 5 to return equipment after moving. Greeter at the front was helpful and efficient at coordinating between customers and tellers. There were 20 numbers ahead of me, but I waited in the comfortable waiting room for no more than 8 minutes My agent was Ezaza (sp?). She was friendly helpful and fast. Second to none. Two parts: 1) this location is brutal. I waited in line for over an hour, and plenty of the other customers waiting were elderly, having to stand in line for over with nowhere to sit and just to pay their bills in cash (which takes 2 minutes). There must be a better way for Spectrum to receive those payments and accommodate those customers. 2) In general, my customer service experience with Time Warner (now Spectrum) has been horrible. Two months ago I went into my closest Spectrum store to remove DVR from my monthly bill. That was completed, but as it turns out, I have never actually had DVR services, yet the company has been charging me for them for three years. What seems like a very clear cut and dry case, Spectrum is refusing to refund me for the nearly $500 that they have charged me for my non-existant DVR services over the past three years. Their party line: it was my responsibility to realize that my bill was incorrect and they cannot be at fault for me not realizing, and I have had to chase them for the past three months to get this much information. Issue is that as far as I knew, the bill was correct. I believed I had DVR services, they told me I did and billed me for DVR, and then ultimately, found out that I have not had those services at all, so there is no possible way that I could have known that was incorrect. I was initially told that they could only refund me approx. $24 (2 months), which eventually they refunded $75 (out of nearly $500, that's pretty shocking). Still looking and fighting to be refunded the full amount but imagine there may unfortunately be others in this same boat. Pretty ridiculous and it's taken months to get here. read more
