I was able to schedule my girlfriends appointment over the phone with a specific nail tech. I've been coming here for 2 years. they have been great with my eyebrows and my pedicures.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Spectrum Nail Salon was frustrating from beginning to end. When I arrived, I told the receptionist I wanted a gel pedicure. She directed me to the pedicure area, where the first nail technician asked what I wanted. I explained that one of my big toenails had broken and was shorter than the other, and that I wanted builder gel used to extend it to match the length of the other toe. She told me the salon did not have builder gel and that acrylic would have to be used instead. I explained that I haven't used acrylic in about six years because I've had issues with it in the past, but since she said builder gel wasn't available, I agreed to acrylic. She then told me she wasn't trained to do acrylic and would need to get another technician. After waiting several minutes, a second technician came over. I had to explain everything again because nothing had been communicated to her. When I explained that I needed one toenail repaired, she seemed unhappy about the request and said she also wasn't trained to do it. I then waited again for a third technician. Once again, I had to repeat the entire situation because there had been no communication between the staff. I explained that I only wanted a small amount of product on the one broken toenail. When she asked what I normally use, I told her builder gel. That's when she said, "We have builder gel--they just don't know how to use it." That was extremely frustrating because the first technician had specifically told me the salon didn't offer builder gel at all. When I pointed out the conflicting information, my concern was brushed aside instead of acknowledged. Things became even more frustrating when I clearly stated that I only wanted builder gel added to the one broken toenail because the other big toe already had builder gel. Despite that, she applied builder gel to both big toes. When I reminded her that I had only requested one toe, she responded that since one toe was getting fresh builder gel, I should do the other one too. That wasn't what I requested, and it made the other toenail thicker than I wanted. Instead of listening to my concern, I felt like she became irritated with me for correcting her. At that point, I no longer wanted the pedicure. I asked her to simply paint my toes instead. Before she started, I specifically asked how much it would cost. She told me it would be $15 for the polish plus $20 for the builder gel, so I expected to pay $35. When she handed me the receipt, the total was $50. When I questioned the charge, she changed the explanation and said the polish was actually $30 because I wasn't getting a pedicure. That was never explained beforehand. If I had been told the correct price from the beginning, I could have made an informed decision. Instead, I was quoted one amount and charged another. Before leaving, I explained the entire situation to the receptionist. Unfortunately, no effort was made to resolve the issue. She didn't offer to involve a manager, ask if there was anything they could do to make the experience right, or acknowledge the poor communication that had occurred throughout my visit. I paid the $50 and left without tipping because I didn't feel I had received the level of service or communication that warranted it. The biggest issue wasn't the builder gel--it was the lack of communication, inconsistent information from multiple technicians, not following my clearly stated requests, and the inaccurate pricing. I hope the salon improves communication among its staff and does a better job ensuring customers receive the services they actually request. read more

Good service... I've been coming here for about 8 years and my favorites are Ben, Johnny and Isabella. I do recommend this salon!

First time and last!! My mother-in-law and I went here the other day. Customer service was horrible, nobody didn't greet us coming in. Several people came in minutes after us no appointment and got served right away, they totally ignored us until I stood up and stared asking questions. I got an acrylic fill in, with French, two repaired nails Polish change on toes and eyebrows waxed Fast forward to checkout, 138.00 They charged for every little thing, I'm surprised I didn't get charged to use the bathroom! I got charged extra cause my nails are supposedly long I got charged 15 for French tip I got charged 10 dollars a piece for repaired nails I got charged 10 for two nail designed I got charged 30 for gel polish change on toes I'm not cheap and but I have never been charged like this! Also I got charged 3% for using my damn card!! WHERE ARE THE DAMN SIGNS (behind the damn counter where it's not visible) Correct me if I'm wrong but they should have prices posted or the tech should kindly mention it I gave them 2 stars cause Nini was very polite to my mother and I And I do like my nails but the vibe and customer service is horrible But this place overall is overrated overpriced and we didn't even get offered a bottle of water! read more

Highly do not recommend. I had an appointment for eyebrows, nails, and a pedicure, but ended up waiting over 30 minutes. When I finally got seen for my eyebrow tint, the technician asked me to come back later. After returning, I still had to wait another 30+ minutes. This place is very inconsiderate of your time. The older woman at the front, who I assume is the owner, showed no concern when I explained that I had an appointment and limited time, her response was simply, "Oh, okay." Overall, a very unprofessional experience. I don't want to spend my hard-earned money at a business that clearly doesn't value its customers. read more

I got charged 72$ for a fill-in after two nails broke off less than 10 days after getting them done, here. The technician initially attempted to PRY the broken thumb nail and it resulted in me yanking my hand back in pain. This prompted the technician to tell me 'to be strong'... Then he abandoned prying and used the electric filer. The worker also asked my 7 year old if they had a boyfriend. I quickly tried to redirect the inappropriate comment and just tried to sit through the rest of the service. My nails are different sizes and crooked. My thumb is still in pain... I didn't have the time or energy to sit for my nails to be re-done, and frankly wanted to just leave. I regret getting my nails done by that technician and genuinely hate how my nails look. read more

To start, Bella was extremely rude and unprofessional. Less than 24 hours after receiving a full set, one of my nails popped off. I returned to the salon for a repair and waited until she was available. I respectfully asked not to be charged, as the issue occurred within 24 hours of service. Instead of addressing me, she turned her back and walked away without acknowledging what I was saying. She later stated that there would be a charge because it was "not her fault" the nail broke. I explained again that a nail failing within 24 hours reflects poor quality; however, she refused to adjust the price and responded with an attitude, asking, "Do you want the nail fixed or not?" At that point, I walked to my car to calm down. From there, I called the salon and asked to speak with a manager or owner. A technician named Johnny answered, and after I explained the situation, he offered to repair the nail free of charge. I returned inside and was called to his table. Unfortunately, Johnny attempted to remove the acrylic by prying it off with an artificial nail instead of soaking it off properly. This caused my natural nail to break and begin bleeding. Although he initially acknowledged that my natural nail was broken and bleeding, both Johnny and Bella later attempted to place the blame on me, stating that it was my fault the nail broke. This was extremely unprofessional, especially considering the improper removal technique used. I went to the sink to wash the blood from my hand. At this point, I was very upset and requested that all of my nails be soaked off. He removed all except the broken nail due to the open wound, free of charge. Conclusion: This salon is overpriced for the level of service and nail quality provided. Sanitation practices, removal techniques, and customer service need immediate review. I will not be returning. read more

The esthetics are amazing but the overall customer service needs major training. The owner was rude and rushed my service and complained as he did my nails. I was so irritated and don't recommend them servicing carbonated (brown) people. He definitely was disrespectful and I won't be returning to patronize this business. My nails were cute and I left a tip but it's a no for me! The vibe was off!! Money is energy and their energy sucks bad lol but nothing is funny. read more

Johnny was amazing and is my favorite tech here! However, there was a mother there with a child that began to cry. Instead of giving the mom time to console her child, the OWNER told her to take her outside... in the middle of her service. There were barely any clients in the salon. I was personally offended and thought it was very rude. LIFE HAPPENS! This isn't the first time the owner has been distasteful towards a client, but this will be the last time I experience it. read more

They are decent. It's a no-frills kinda spot but it's beautiful All nail techs are not created equal. You have to find someone that you are comfortable with; I did. The Positive is that they have great chairs, free WIFI, a plethora of colors, and different types of Mani/Pedi. The negatives are that not all techs are created equal, It's a huge establishment, there are also different techs on site unless you pick one who's always there and not everyone has the same skills. read more

My pedicure technician was horrible. She did not know how to remove my ingrown toe nails and made them hurt so much worse. She did not get all of my dry heels. When I tried to explain to her she kept making excuses. And I told her I wanted my toenails just filed down a little bit not cut down. She painted my nails first with the French tip and then filed them. So this made the white tip even smaller bc she filed them after painting. read more

I walked in on tueday 3/25.25, for a pedicure, my technician didn't offer me anything to drink inspite other 3 ladies in my same row had water and wine. MY TECHNICIAN had a water bottle on the edge where he left twice to get him something to drink from his personal bottle. I was thirsty also but I didn't say anything. After that I was sitting in the front drying my toes and the lady at the counter told me to come pay, I had to get up from the dryer to pay and get back under the toe dryer. Could you have not waited until my toes was dry? I was sitting there thinking I should get my eyebrows arched also but after she made me pay before I was finished I didn't worry about it. Pretty salon. Also clean but they can't keep a good receptionist. They are SLOW!!! They should hire a receptionist that understand the order of sequence or write the names of the patrons on the ticket if they can't remember who came in first. Memory is important when working at salon. I waited 40 minutes for my eye brows to be waxed! Yes that's what I said. I asked the young lady how much longer is the wait. She said they'll get to your NAILS next. I reminder her that my ticket simply says EYEBROWS. THATS IT. Then she said Oh. You can go to the back. really??? Three people were called before me getting SNS and gel nails and I can't get a 5 min eyebrow wax? I'm so done! The receptionist got upset because I was annoyed. Hey pretty girl. Learn sequence. They teach that in pre-K!!!!! read more

Wish I could give them 0 stars. Never will I ever go back here. I have been coming since they opened and never have felt so belittled by an employee who continuously told me how bad my feet were when I told her I wanted a deluxe pedicure. They were not that bad I was just there in November. She was the older lady who sits towards the back and middle with reddish brown hair and glasses. Everytime I have had her if you don't upgrade the package she huffs and puffs. I didn't want to make a scene a request another employee but I should have. My friend who I brought with me couldn't believe how she acted. We had the same package and did not get the same treatment. I did not get the hot towels lotion or even all my toes painted. I even got charged $10 more and did not even get my pinky toe painted. Do not go here all they want is you to buy the most expensive package so they get more commission biggest waste of time and money. No customer service read more

Spectrum Nail Spa - Last toe didn't get painted - Nail Salons Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

Third time is supposed to be the charm, correct? Not in this case with Spectrum. My last visit here (and it will be my last for a while) was last Tuesday. I was in need of a pedicure and quoted a wait time of 30 minutes when I arrived. Not bad I thought, considering I knew I could use that time to catch up my personal to-do list. 30 minutes came and went so I got up and asked that front desk girl how much longer since she was the one who provided that time frame. She said 'soon' and then stated that I could walk back to a bowl. Granted, this Tuesday evening seemed to be busier than what they were prepared for. There wasn't enough staff (I've seen more people on Thursday/Friday evenings) to cover the stream of people coming in. I go back to the chair and the girl barely fills up the bowl with water because she kept watching the line of people coming in. After a minute or two, she just stopped what she was doing and went back to the desk. Guess what? I then proceeded to wait even longer. An hour had passed at this point so I decided to chalk it all up to time lost and left. I've been here a couple of other times and things went incredibly smooth. I'd previously come in for manicures, an eyebrow wax, and a pedicure. All services were done professionally and without issue. read more

The space is bright and open and pleasant. We were greeted fairly quickly. We asked if they had time for pedis and as fast as he said yes, he basically pushed me in my back towards the pedi chairs. That was a precursor for the day. Our nail techs were great but they did our pedis like there was a waitlist 100 deep. They also up sold us by saying we should get the green tea and honey pedi as it was the same as the organic. Well, it wasn't. It was $15 more. My gel polish has already chipped and it's only been a week. I would go here again if I needed something quickly but wouldn't expect it to last. read more

I went here to get my nails done and the owner rushed to get through it as fast as possible. WORST NAIL AND CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. I wish 0 stars was an option. I asked for a full set. She (I believe the owners wife- regrettably didn't get her name) did it in 30 minutes. Worst nails I have ever had. Rushed, painful, no attention to detail. The acrylic was uneven, shape horrible, nails were different lengths, but the worst of all was the atrocious polish job. I could have done them better myself. Being shy, I waited until I was paying to mention that I was unhappy with the result. They were incredibly rude. She told me it was my fault, that my nails were "terrible?" She was argumentative and eventually just walked away. Then, the owner Ben came up and was equally rude and said "audios" telling me to get out of the store. I have never had such a belittling, demeaning, and terrible customer service experience. Trust the online reviews and 2 star rating.... If I would have looked at the reviews before coming I would have never wasted my time or money. Horrible customer service and attitudes. read more

I'm a regular here. Hands down my favorite nail salon in Charlotte. I received a pedicure every other month with gel polish and a gel polish full set. I pay a total of about $95 for both services. In my opinion Jay, Cathy, Bunny and Henry do the best work. This place is usually busy but able to accommodate everyone. The polish color select is large. When you sit down to begin your services, an adult beverage is often to those 21 yo and older. I'm always have Chardonnay. The music select is always on point, very relaxing environment. Don't come here unless you want to be scammed. I got a pedicure, perfectly fine, I asked to get my nail cuticles cleaned up on my hands. The lady puts on the slip $20 price for a full manicure price when she only pushed my cuticles back. Then I go to check out and the receptionist goes to talk to her she said ok change it to $15. Ok, I was TERRIFIED to go here based on the reviews but I received a gift card for Christmas and decided to try it out. I arrived right when they opened at 12pm and there were about 7 people in line, I quickly got in line and 4 people lined up right behind me. I figured it can't be that bad if all these people line up for their services right? This was only my second pedicure ever so my expectations may be low but I thought my nail tech, Anna, was phenomenal! I was lucky enough to get serviced first for my pedicure, I found Anna to be knowledgeable, friendly, and great at what she does. I thought the business was clean, the polish selection was great and have zero complaints. I will definitely come back and ask for Anna. read more

Service was quick and efficient. Staff that did my pedicure was very friendly. Prices are a bit high in my opinion and they don't let you tip on your card anymore but they do have an ATM in the shop you can use for a tip. However, this didn't help me much as all I had was my credit card. Wasn't expecting this so be aware. Most nail polish looked like it seen better days. However, the one I got was fine. I would go back if I needed a quick service. read more

YOU'VE BEEN WARNED! I made the mistake of getting a fill in at this salon and as you can see from the picture it was VERY disappointing. The guy nail technician intentionally laid the gel polish on too thick, anyone with common sense would know not to use so much polish. I don't want to return to get my nails fixed but I am so that they can be held accountable. Poor management here as well, poor reception too, the young lady at the front gave me nothing but attitude. This place will continue to get business because of its location and capacity size. I encourage everyone that has a bad experience at this salon to share their experiences until management decides to make some changes to their staff because clearly these people don't appreciate their job or customers. read more

I would not recommend! This was my very first visit to Spectrum. I was not greeted at all when I arrived. The receptionist asked what I wanted and I explained a gel pedicure. The receptionist told me to go to a specific waiting area where I waited patiently for someone to arrive. A lady arrived and she immediately asked if I picked out a color I said no bit I would like orange gel polish. She laughed and said all off or polishes are in the front. I advised that this is my very first visit and I was not aware. No one provided me with a menu for pricing or anything. I tried to build rapport with the nail tech but that was short lived because she rushed through my service. When I entered the nail spa this is my self care day it's my time to relax and ease my mind. I didn't get that experience. My nails were cut to short and now crooked my nails were not fully polished and when I addressed this with the nail tech she immediately became annoyed and even yanked my foot. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me no she needs to finish her service first. I said I need to speak to someone now! The manager dismissed me took $10 off the service and walked away. She did not listen to my concerns or frustration. This was bigger than a discount. Also my nail tech did not follow the correct sterilization process she just rinsed off her tools with water and wrapped them back up for the next use. Nothing was taken out of plastic or any sterilization. Oh also the nail tech told me to never come back! I will advise extreme caution when using this place I can definitely see someone obtaining a infection from here. read more
