I'm sorry I ever signed up for Spectrum. I have 2 TVs, Spectrum only supported one, unless I bought an add on! I sign up on line and nothing was said regarding the number of TVs. The person that signed me up insisted that new install comes with a new phone. I told her I didn't want it. They sent one anyway. When I took all of the equipment back to the office they refused to take the phone as I didn't have the box it came in. After speaking with the clerk he said "this happens all the time"! My credit card has been charged for a phone I don't want, I won't use and Spectrum continues to bill! What a rip off! read more

I have been using Spectrum on and off for several years now, with very little issue (if any). However, every time I go to the location here in Cheyenne, I am continuously given misinformation, and this month it cost my bank account dearly! I was supposed to have a "by the gig" mobile package that "was not to exceed the unlimited package total if additional GB's were used". (I asked this question specifically, and was given that specific answer). However, this is untrue. If you have a by the gig plan, you will pay for every gig used. This is all and good, but if I had been given proper info, I would have taken the opportunity to change my plan once I received the emails telling me I was going over my usage. However, since I was told that it would not exceed the $45 unlimited plan, I didn't bother. Then I was charged $224 for the extra usage! Understandably furious, I called and spoke to a rep at the toll free number, but it was too little too late, and I was out $179 dollars because of the misinformation. In addition, I was also told that when trying to finance a phone that a credit check was not ran, as Spectrum only offered financing based on your history with them. Also untrue, and they ran a credit check on me that I did not authorize (since I was under the understanding that it was decided internally), and in the end I was not financed for a new phone (which I would have known if I had known the credit check was a requirement). So, I was once again out my valuable time, and now there is an inquiry on my credit that I did not authorize! If you want legit answers, call the tool free number. The absolute slowest/worst cellular service I have used in my entire life. I do like the convenience but it is looking like I'm going to have to cancel. This is pathetically sad data connection speeds. Worse than 56k dialup from my experience. The people in the main area that have nothing to do with the cellular service in town are fantastic though. So I am hoping that this poor review of spectrum cellular does not reflect upon their awesomeness. Spectrum cellular is a definite NO GO! Don't waste the cash it takes to get started. I would give zero but it is not an option. Full of technical glitches non of the people sent out could fix. Put on hold for lots of time. Their reps connected tv in odd manner and I can not figure out how to get rid of equipment. Their internet goes on and off. Picked up streaming service that works, has beautiful picture, had has good customer service, and costs 78$ less!!! Try FUBO. Outstanding service! read more

My mom recently passed away. The immediate finances in my family have been challenging and difficult to manage, and I have been left to personally support not only my family, but the costs of the funeral. I had to cut costs in order to afford to pay for things. One of the first things I did was try and cancel my mom's $233.72 monthly TV/cable bill from Spectrum. When I called, the first customer service rep informed me that the only way I can cancel is to go to the Spectrum cable store. Since I live out of town in Colorado, and there are no local Spectrum stores, I couldn't do that. According to her, that was the only option. The second time I called back, the phone just...hung up on me. So I called back. This is what happened: "Hello sir I can't hear you. I can't hear you. I can't hear you. If I can't hear you I will have to disconnect this call. I can't hear you so I am hanging disconnecting." (Item to note: she called me sir. I must have been tagged in their system.) I was never given the opportunity to even say...hello. So to recap...my mom has passed away, and I am not even given the opportunity to try and cancel her account. They're more worried about keeping subscribers than being human. It was humiliating. I called back, the third operator, just like the first, had no problem hearing me. I was upset, but knew it wasn't her fault, and took a deep breath while talking to her. She was so much kinder and understood my situation. But the last thing I wanted was to be transferred to another person...why couldn't I just stay on the line with her and we figure it out together? I begged her not to transfer me. I was just trying to cancel the account. She insisted that I be transferred. I then asked her what would happen if I just didn't pay the bill, she said it would go to collections. So now, my mom who has passed away, I have to deal with Spectrum communication sending her to collections. As hurt and angry as I am, I take solace in knowing that this is why cable companies are losing subscribers. read more

Why does it take spectrum 5 minutes to add service and 3 Hours to cancel? Worse customer service ever. What a scam! Price is outrageous!

Spectrum / Charter is among the worst companies providing cable ISP services in the U.S. They raise their rates without rhyme or reason and outright lie to customers regarding the costs of their service plans. Cheyenne, WY (and all other de facto closed markets) must actively seek to open their cable internet market to additional vendors and healthy competition. Spectrum is patently dishonest and engages in price gouging. It cannot be allowed to maintain its abusive business practices and unfair monopoly. read more
