Honest, competent, fast, reasonable pricing, everything I could ask for, I would definitely use Absolute Electric again.

If I could rate this company a zero I would. First of all, Doug's workers left the electrical cover off our panel box. A family member went over to look at our house and noticed the electric not working. When he went to look at the panel box it arched and almost electrocuted him due to the panel cover not being properly applied. This arch welded our panel shut, and thankfully didn't kill someone. After this, the electricians came out to locate the break in our line and left two giant holes (The size of the large plastic children's pools) open in our yard with live electrical wires from the electric pole exposed. We have 5 children and any of them could have easily fallen in (We didn't let them in the backyard due to this). When we called to voice our concerns that they were still open he stated, "I will send someone out there tomorrow." When we re-iterated that we have 5 children, and this could potentially hurt or even kill someone he changed his tone and decided to send someone up to fill the holes the same day. After taking a full month and a $15,000 bill ($5,500 more than anticipated and quoted) they were able to fix our electric by digging a trench and laying new legs to our house. When they dug the trench, they cut through more than 6 sprinkler lines, and stated it would be $300 to replace, and they would have to come back another time. This was the day before we left to visit family in PA, so we had no sprinkler system to water our lawn. The electricians told my husband what parts he would need to fix our sprinkler system that night before we left (they told him the wrong parts) to which my husband wasn't able to fix before leaving. We then came back to a partially dead yard which my husband spent hours on prior to the sprinkler incident, manicuring to make it look nice. When we called Doug about the holes in our yard Doug also had us on speaker phone to which he was talking about a lawsuit his company was in (without muting our conversation). My apartment building's property manager hired this company to help me with a simple electric issue so I can't speak to the price, but I will say that Shane was absolutely fantastic. First of all, he came into the building wearing a surgical mask, which showed that he respected my health and safety during this pandemic, and then he very patiently showed me where my circuit breaker box was in the building (this is my first time living alone and the property managers showed me nothing because I moved in on a weekend) and what to do the next time I plug in something that causes a short circuit. He also was kind enough to test various outlets in my apartment to see where the two circuits run so I would know which two outlets I could safely use space heaters on (my furnace was broken at the time so he wanted to make sure I could use my heaters). He was thoughtful, kind and super friendly and I am very appreciative he was willing to teach me something I should have already known how to do! read more

I am not the type to post reviews, however, I feel the situations that have arisen justify a few concerns that I have with Absolute Electric and its owner Doug Bates. Five years ago, I purchased a home and had Doug Bates complete an electrical inspection. The sellers paid Doug over $800 in electrical repairs. Fast forward five years....I have now put my house back on the market to sell. The new buyer had Doug Bates complete the electrical inspection again. This time Doug Bates called several repairs that he stated needed fixed. All of these repairs were not code violations and multiple were ones he was supposed to make have fixed five years ago. The codes had not changed in five years for him to call the repairs either. When speaking to Doug about the inconsistencies of his inspections, he made several excuses regarding the repairs and why he called them (after research I found that they were only excuses and not true. Once again, I call Doug to resolve the situation and he said he would call me back with a day/time to fix some of the repairs and I would pay to fix some of the other repairs. He never called me or my realtor back to fix anything. Ultimately, he knew I had a family member who was an electrician at a more reputable electric company, who happens to not do home inspections. His quote to me was "well I figured ____ could fix it." This is not the purpose of home inspections. It is to check for code violations that can affect a homeowner, not minor repairs that don't cause problems in day to day living. I ended up going through a more reputable electric company to repair Doug's so called repairs and they discovered other repairs that were actually code violations. Doug nit-picked small items to make him some business (although he knew I would go with someone else to do the repairs). Lesson learned, he was not honest with me or the buyer, his work was not quality, and he did not demonstrate his excellent service...all of which his website claims that his company is. I would highly recommend going through a different company for home inspections and repairs.
