I've been dealing with them for 4 days with no direct answers. 3 weeks ago, the first attempt to get internet service, the technician never showed and no courtesy call to inform so. When I called they gave me 2 days later with no guarantee they would show, so I just cancelled. Who can keep making time out of their schedules for maybes? I call 4 days ago, get the self install because of the issues with technicians and it arrives Saturday. I get it all set up, no service. I call, only to find out the previous tenant had a no pay disconnect so the lines were not live. They schedule an appointment for tomorrow between 1-2p that I told them I couldn't do due to work and not trusting a technician to show up,not making calling off work beneficial. Why should I lose pay for a maybe? They put a fast ticket in for dispatch to call me within the hour. They don't. Call again, same spiel. They dont call again. Fast forward 2 days to today, it happens again. Call back, same spiel same information except more irritated and no patience. Keep getting told they can put a ticket in, I explain well that's happened 3 times now who can I speak to that can actually do something? Apparently no one but we can schedule a time for someone to come out 3 days from now. Mind you they already took the money out for the 1st month and by the time, if they show up, it gets installed, itll be a week later. While trying to talk to billing and see if I can get money back for all this bullshit, dispatch finally calls. They give me the same bullshit, set up an appointment for 2 days after the initial install for later. I ask is it guaranteed? They tell me no it's not. Things happen people call in get sick so I cant guarantee. I tell her well that's the point of an appointment and clearly with an appointment later in the day you know way beforehand if your shorthanded. Response was well were human things happen. Never get Internet from this company ! I got Internet from them two weeks ago and they have rescheduled four going on five times for no absolute reason . When I contacted customer service the representatives was no help at all , all they say is sorry we can't do anything about it nor could we share the installers manager contact number. I'm taking online college courses and NEED my internet . If you're thinking about going to this company DON'T DO IT ! THIS COMPANY IS TRASH ! I have been a TWC a customer for many, many years. I had the bundled services of cable/internet/phone. Initially I subscribed to one of the premium channels but dropped that due to repetitive programming. Over the years the cost of services crept up a bit more and then they found more ways to charge for equipment I had to use for the services I had with them. Remember when they added the "lease" charge for the modem? Well, I had phone service with them so I had to have a modem. To drop the lease fee for their modem you had to go out and buy another modem, but keep theirs too! Does that make any sense at all?? Once you have paid what the cost is for the equipment ($40 for a modem?, $250 for a DVR?) they shouldn't be able to charge any additional fees for equipment. I would occasionally canvass friends and family on the cost of their services and tried a time or two with TWC to reduce the cost of their cable service. I decided to cut the cord since I was paying $100 month for basic cable but had only been watching local channels. TWC was not interested in offering a lower price to keep me as a customer, when I returned the DVR a they only wanted to know who I was going to use instead of them. I paid an estimated bill the month I returned the equipment since I wasn't sure of the cost. I under paid the bill by $39 and now they have started collection calls! For $39!!!!! When I have paid them THOUSANDS of dollars over the years, consistently on time. This has been such an awful experience and I wish wholeheartedly that the FCC would refuse to consider any sort of merger for TWC a with Comcast. read more

I have had my internet and cable off for 3 days, now they're telling me it's gonna be another 3 days still according to them. when I talked to someone days ago the only help I received was them restarting my modem (like that's not the first thing I tried) and set me up with a service appointment. when the service guy (the ONLY redeeming quality of this company is the awesome service guys who have been sent out to help when I have issues) said the signals were making it to the box and modem but that the company TOOK MY CABLE AND INTERNET OFF MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT TELLING ME! So unfortunately there was nothing more he could do. I started the always irritating task of talking to someone from spectrum on the phone. When I called they had the wrong address for my account, then when they switched me to a different department they had my phone number wrong on my account. What else are they making mistakes on?! How do I know I'm not being charged for things I don't even have on my account?! They said I had to get a new box and modem because the other ones had time Warner codes. Not once was any of this mentioned to me by customer service on my previous calls/chats or the service guys (including the one that set up my service at my new house months ago.) I asked to be compensated for the days I already haven't had service and the days that I will continue to not have service and they said "well you won't be charged until the new equipment is set up" THATS NOT THE POINT!!! the whole reason I still dont have service is because of MULTIPLE mistakes on the companies end. Otherwise I wouldn't be in this mess because my tv and wifi would be working. Tried to contact Time warner to add Internet Service... just a waste of time. I have my Basic Cable TV provided at a BULK Rate through my apartment complex and pay my apartment complex for it. I used TW "CHAT" to see if I could add internet and if so, would I still pay my apartment complex for Cable TV (like I do now) and pay TW directly for the internet service. After 22 minutes with "CHAT" I was given a phone number to call and told that they would answer my question. That's a problem with too many companies... if you contact them for CS via email or Chat, they reply by giving you a phone number to call. And if you contact them via telephone, they tell you to submit your question via email or "Chat". Nobody will do the job they're hired to do... all they'll do is pass the buck. This company could not exist if they were not a monopoly. I agree with other posters... if you can get the services you want without using Time Warner at all, do so... you will save yourself a lot of headaches! read more

I have been with Spectrum for three years. On 11/18/19 I turned in all Spectrum equipment to the Fredonia, NY Spectrum store. This was due to the second promotional discount, which went into effect on 11/19/19 and i could not afford. The employee at the Spectrum store informed me that , when you get your new provider let us know so we can disconnect your home phone. When i arrived home one hour later from the Spectrum store , my phone had been disconnected . I then called verizon, which told me the earliest we can have you connected would be in seven days. So i went without a home phone for a week, until verizon connected me. Furthermore i am a caregiver and have a disabled child at home. If i needed an ambulance, the above would put me in a difficult or bad situation. In addition i was not driving twenty two miles back to the spectrum store to inform them to connect my home phone. I have been a good customer and always paid my monthly bill on time. read more

I would give ZERO stars if I could. They have the worst customer service around but you have no choice but to call them because the online Chat people can't even do anything! They just tell you that you have to call in. Then when you DO call, you get interrupted, put on hold, or hung up on. Also, they do not notify their customers on autopay about rejected payments (my card expired)! You just have to wait until you get a $20 fee on your next bill to find out about it and then by the time you know and you can update it, your next payment is already scheduled and it's too late and then you get ANOTHER $20 fee for a 2nd rejected payment. Ridiculous. My card was about to expire and I know it is my responsibility to know that, but ALL other companies I had this card on file for notified me and asked me to update before my next payment was withdrawn, I updated it and therefore had no issues, no fees. Time Warner didn't notify me and the customer service rep said "that would be too much work to notify all of our customers who had this happen and other companies can do what they want". Really? I'm pretty sure it is an automated thing that is wasy to set up. Also, we had a service appointment set up, they said they would call to notify us when the driver was close, no call, and no one ever came. I called about it and they said the driver called and no one answered so they didn't come. I found out they put in our phone # one digit off. I updated the # and scheduled another appt. Same thing happened again. I called and they didn't update the phone #!!! Finally, the third time I told them just to use the number on file and that worked...wow. The only reason they're sitll in business is because there are no other options! I want to get another internet provider but there is no one else except Verizon which isn't available where I live................... read more

I was charged a $20 returned payment fee and given the situation, they won't waive the fee. If I could leave a negative star I would in a heartbeat. Spectrum has been the WORST company to deal with. I canceled my services over a month ago due to me moving and they "forgot" to take my automatic withdrawal off so I got charged a month after calling. Over all I talked to 4 separate customer service reps who all tell me a different story and then I go into the store hoping for different results. The girl at the store was nice as pie, but again wrong information was conveyed. Now 44 days after canceling a refund check has been processed. In an incorrect amount then what I had been told at the store. So I call the oh so helpful number again and ask for a supervisor hoping to get better results. I get put on hold for over 40 minutes while the girl is "waiting" for a supervisor. So I take 40 minutes out of my work day listening to the awful music and spectrum ads that they have playing when finally a "supervisor" gets on the line and explains to me the "policy" of refund checks and why i was being shorted 120 dollars from what the girl from the store told me. And then when I inquired about compensation her RUDE response is "You canceled your account we wont compensate you"..... So 4 phone calls and a store visit later and I'm getting left with a measly 83 dollar refund check that was their error to begin with. It's hit or miss service, always try and come early in the week later on seems to help, patience is something you need here. Try calling a head if you need to swap service or change something. Only reason I could see coming here is for swapping out equipment read more

TIME WARNER BLOWS! Ive had time warner at my last three houses and sadly had to get them again yesterday because it was the only thing available. My roomates have all set up with the and now I have and everytime they charged us for crap we didnt get. Today I got a 100 charge for signing up yesterday for internet thats only supposed to be 65. It also took 6 dam hours to get everything up and running just because i have my own equipment and they automatically charge you for a set up visit. and unless you tell them that they will come and expecet you to pay. At the first house I had a mac and something was causing only my computer to not get signal and they were assholes about the whole thing and had no better reason for it then to blame apple and the equipment we bought from radio shack. Of course it turned out to be there fault and they still refused to take the blame. Then last time i had everything hooked up but the router was never added. It took 4 hrs of call transfers and idiots who dont know what the fuck there doing to finally get a woman to tell me I had to register it and that i need the passcode that comes premade with the router. IF you ever call them make sure you have time to spend hours arguing wiht them and repeating yourself becasue they will transfer you or piss you off and then you will start swearing ands they will hang up. They dont tell the peole they transfer you to who you are or any of the account info so you will get to repeat that 100 times plus the problem. And its even worse when they dont speak any dam english. They have been a pain in my ass for to long! read more

Everyone is talking about Time Warner - I'm talking about Spectrum. I had TW and when Spectrum took over, my bill shot up from $95 to $147 for Triple Play. I struggled to pay the $95 but I always made my payments - on time. When I got my first bill from Spectrum for the $147 I could not make the full payment. I paid $100 and was going to pay the remainder the following week when I got paid. In the meantime, I got a notice from them saying that if I didn't pay pronto, it was going to collections. I paid it. I also switched to Verizon - no big prize with their stinking 2 yr contract. After it runs out, they can all kiss my ass. Going back to an antenna. Good enough. I don't need to see half the crap they show on TV. So, today, I get home from work and there's a message on my phone from a collection agency trying to collect on a bill. How much to you want to bet it's a Spectrum bill? They sent me a final bill for $70 that was due on the 8th. Today is the 9th. I was at work both days. I will be going there tomorrow morning to make that final payment and they can wipe their dick with it. read more

I've had twc for years. Never had a complaint, other than minor irritations. I have the new box. It's WORTHLESS. I'm paying $120. a month. They changed the format last week, now every morning at 3 the tv automatically goes off and stays off up to 30 minutes to program or update or whatever. Look back is available on 1 of every 500 programs. Start over was available on the apprentice 3 month ago, that's about it. All the commercials are basically LIES. If you're recording during the 3am shut off it erases it. Theres commercials saying 24 / 7 customer service to this day. I've called as early as 11pm and they're closed. I guess if you have a problem at night, or your service is off you're out of luck until they re-open. Another new nigtmare is RUDENESS I had a girl named Precious or Princess the rudest human I"ve ever dealt with. I had problem after problem after problem with insillation process. She basically told me if I don't like go elsewhere and I don't care was the impression I was left with. A huge selling point for twc has always been consistant billing. That remains true. My bill is the exact same every month. It is the only good thing I have left to say about twc. I have recommended more people than I can count there. Not any more, I tell the truth about them and people run. The only alternative use to be verizon, which is just as bad as twc. Now there's the dish, dish network.
