I visited Galleria Tile today around 1:20 PM to view large format tiles (24x48). I wanted to see…read morethe third tile on display. The sales associate assured me that the first two large format tiles wouldn't fall as she retrieved the third one. Unfortunately, as she lifted the third tile, the first two fell to the ground, cutting me three times on my wrists and hitting my foot. What was most disappointing wasn't just the accident, but the lack of immediate concern from the associate. Instead of checking on me, she focused on cleaning up the mess. I had to ask another associate behind the counter for a bandaid. Only after I tended to myself did the first associate ask if I was okay, without really listening. When I told her I had three cuts and my foot hurt, her response was, "Oh, you have small cut." We teach children that when someone is hurt, even by accident, the first step is to show empathy. That did not happen here. I'm unsure about the quality of the tiles themselves, but this experience was unsafe and very disappointing. Customers should feel safe and supported when visiting a showroom, and that was not my experience today.

Before Charlotte I had talked to 2 other designers (other companies) to mock up a kitchen, but they completely failed to listen to the design brief and spec'ed a cookie cutter kitchen that was a poor use of the space. Charlotte carefully listened to what we want*, and then delivered on the design with great suggestions. She was the only designer we talked to that had both the talent and empathy to deliver. She is detail oriented with both the usability of the kitchen and measurements, and is also able to have good discussions about quality-cost trade offs: Will the ADU door open, with the fridge so close? Is there enough space on each side of the hob for cooking? Are the upper cabinets easy to reach? What materials to make the cabinet boxes? What custom elements are needed to create a built-in look, etc, etc... it just goes on and she's on top of it all! Gilman's then delivered the kitchen on time and drama-free, and also arranged a great carpenter to make some final adjustments. I reached out to Danny and he blamed me for the damage, saying that it was because the overhang on my countertops was not big enough to prevent moisture from leaking on them. But that does not make any sense because the veneer is peeling off even in places far below the countertops. His quoted price to replace the damaged area: $1,685 I own another house where the kitchen cabinets were installed decades ago and still look great. If you want cabinets that last and a company that will stand behind their work, I would suggest you look elsewhere.
