I started losing my sight about a year ago and I have absolutely no idea why. Some people have suggested to me that it must be age catching up with me; I am a little more reluctant to admit this myself. The inside of the shop is clinical and hygienic; the sort of feel a dentists has to it. The specs were displayed beautifully behind some perfectly fitted lights. I was impressed by all of this; it is everything I need from an optician. The staff were friendly about the prognosis, one that I was in denial about until I got a second opinion. I was impressed by their professionalism and I desire to come back here again some time soon.

It doesn't matter if you're looking for an eye examination, designer frames, sunglasses or contact lenses. Pabari Opticians are more than happy to help. They have been established for over 20 years giving top level service to Birmingham and its surrounding areas. I always thought that my eye sight was very good, until I reached the age of 31 and things in the distance started to become blurred. I explained this to the optician and he recommended an eye examination. The diagnosis is that I'm slightly short sighted. He gave me options for corrective care and lens. They believe that every patient's requirements are different, some might like the latest cutting edge frame designs and others perhaps might want something a little more traditional. I was impressed with the range and got some great Ray Ban pair of glasses.

With this in mind I decided to do some pre-emptive research on local opticians. The Pabari in Moseley has a good selection of glasses and the salespeople there are very helpful. They have a website with some information, but, unfortunately, they do not have models of glasses online. They do have a twitter though, which update their sales. The store has good variety of glasses and a good range of prices too. I can see that I will be visiting them for a purchase soon.

The staff take the extra time to order in a great selection of frames - from designers worn by Beyoncé to affordable but chic and unique shapes. I walk by here all the time going to the coffee shop next door and when my annual eye appointment was due, decided to give them a try. I'm so glad I did. Booking an appointment is really simple. The optometrist I saw was really thorough, great at informing me about my eyes and tests conducted, and took the time to listen and answer all of my questions without rushing. I've recently had some optical migraines and she was great at making recommendations for proper eye care and next steps. I ordered a sixth month supply of contacts and a new set of glasses. The staff made sure to calculate all my options for discounts to ensure I got the best price on contacts. When picking up my contacts I also wanted to try on frames. The staff member assisted me around the shop. He has a great eye for fashion and was able to pick out perfect frame shapes and colors that suited my style. He was never pushy and even recommended a cheaper frame since I don't wear glasses every day. They are all about building great relationships and providing excellent customer service - not just making a sale. I really like that. If you're looking for an optician with excellent customer care and a wide selection of beautiful frames, give Piccadilly a visit.

Piccadilly has a great range of designers which also means the frames alone are on the expensive end of the spectrum before you even add the cost of your lenses. What you have to remember though is that this is something you will wear everyday for at least two years till your next eye test and so you want them to look good. I always find it really hard choosing a new pair of glasses and visit lots of opticians to check out the ranges and snap myself in a host of frames to help with my decision making. I popped in for a contacts lense check up, and my opticians made me feel at ease whilst he tested my peepers. After a through check and lots of questions asked about my daily care routine of my lenses, I decided that I wanted to take a look at the frames with ideally walking away with a new pair. My assistant was super patient despite me wanting to try on lots of pairs, mostly which didn't suit me or were too big for my face. I wilted it down to four pairs, and as part of the service and helping me to decide what pair to choose my picture was taken modelling the fours glasses in turn. This was really useful and I managed to decide on my final pair. Woo hoo success! I was told that my glasses could take up to 10 days to arrive once ordered. They arrived in a week. The customer service here really is second to none, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the opticians to everyone.

This chilly barn ( wrap up in the winter) sells a variety of clothes, china/dinner ware, glass ware, ornaments, jewellery, furniture, records..the list goes on...from years gone by. Our incredible purchases include a a three piece men's suit (£30), a cut glass salad bowl with condiment holders, vintage watch, two brooches, Stevie Wonder LP, a fascinator, two dresses (£4&£6) glass bowl (£3), tie bar & cuff links, fur coat & our favourite ( see photo) a 60s Formica table & stools (£45) The barn is run by a lovely couple who are not overbearing & are very knowledgeable & friendly. Just a warning about Brittain opticians on Harborne High Street…read more Today we discovered, thanks to the children's hospital, that my 4 year old Grandson has been given the wrong perscription in his glasses from Brittain opticians. The hospital has confirmed that he has damage now to his eyes due to there negligence. The staff at Britain's have admitted they have given him the wrong perscription. There only offer was they would do an eye test and give him new glasses. The hospital have said this isn't allowed as his eye problems are complex and are only to be revised by the hospital. When we informed Brittons of this, they refused to let us talk to the manager. They refused to give us any email or phone number of a governing body of optitions. And ultimately when we kept asking they Banned us from contacting them or going into the store. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! My Grandson has permanent damage to his eyes because of thier negligence!
