This is an excellent independent optician, one that I would choose over more well known high street…read morecompetitors. It doesn't matter if you're looking for an eye examination, designer frames, sunglasses or contact lenses. Pabari Opticians are more than happy to help. They have been established for over 20 years giving top level service to Birmingham and its surrounding areas. I always thought that my eye sight was very good, until I reached the age of 31 and things in the distance started to become blurred. I explained this to the optician and he recommended an eye examination. The diagnosis is that I'm slightly short sighted. He gave me options for corrective care and lens. They believe that every patient's requirements are different, some might like the latest cutting edge frame designs and others perhaps might want something a little more traditional. I was impressed with the range and got some great Ray Ban pair of glasses.

It's starting to happen; my eyes are taking a while to focus when I stop looking at the computer…read morescreen, things that I would normally be able to read at a distance are now getting a bit fuzzy... not long until I will need my first pair of glasses. With this in mind I decided to do some pre-emptive research on local opticians. The Pabari in Moseley has a good selection of glasses and the salespeople there are very helpful. They have a website with some information, but, unfortunately, they do not have models of glasses online. They do have a twitter though, which update their sales. The store has good variety of glasses and a good range of prices too. I can see that I will be visiting them for a purchase soon.

Feedback I would…read morelike to provide you with positive feedback ANNA and DAN at The Birmingham high street specsavers which I believe is the best in Birmingham. They are all brilliant in all aspects, their role, their approach, their listening, understanding and their response to the issues in finding best ways to address them. They are not judgemental nor bias. I fully appreciate their time, her hard work and effort. Although it is their job, they truly take that extra mile (goes above and beyond) to ensure that they provide efficient advice and service. And I cannot thank them enough. It is very rare to find one that is very dedicated, who listens and understands. And is willing to do a job to the best of their ability. I greatly value their role and hardwork. And I greatly thank them all. Well recommended specsavers in Birmingham.

I have been a customer of Specsavers for about 7 years now for both Contact Lenses and Glasses…read more Based in a very central location on New Street, they are easy to find and have a good selection of lens options and frames. The main reason I go back is the price. They are heads and shoulders over their competitors in terms of the cost for glasses and lenses. I have had all manner of wonderful glasses from them over the years (including my current favorite - the Leopard print winged designer frames I am currently rocking). People ALWAYS ask where I get my glasses from! The downside is that their service is a very mixed bag. The staff are helpful, patient and polite; but sometimes their ordering systems aren't great. With my current Contact lens direct debit I have been told 3 different ways of getting my hands on my supply and have been advised incorrectly (you guessed it) 3 different times. It's not so much of an issue for me as I tend to only wear my lenses at weekends, but if you were a staunch everyday wearer - this would be very frustrating if your supply was short. To give an idea of prices, I pay around £230 for 2 pairs of designer glasses (and get my sight test for free as I am on Contact lens Direct Debit). For my lenses, I get 10 pairs a month of daily disposables a month and my checkups for £9 per month - so not bad at all. I would recommend them, but always book an appointment! If you walk-in, you can suffer horrendously long waiting periods.

Grand Central is my favourite part about Birmingham New Street Station, it is a shopping centre…read morelocated above the train station, which connects into the Bullring (the city's main shopping centre), via a walkway. It can be a great to visit to kill some time before your train, or even to shop while in the city, plus the walkway acts as a cool way of getting to the train station and dogging the rain, of which we get more than our fair share of in the UK! Birmingham New Street Station - https://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/birmingham-new-street-station-birmingham-3 Bullring- https://www.yelp.co.uk/biz/bullring-birmingham Grand Central opened in September 2015, it still feels new and modern. The stunning balcony, lighting and architecture are nice to admire, and the perfect welcome into one of the country's greatest cities. I loved admiring the view in the dark autumn nights, while sat enjoying a coffee at Joe and the Juice. Grand Central's only flagship retailer was John Lewis, sadly this store has now closed down but there are still a couple of shops located here, which includes Tesco Express, Foyles and Whittard. The selection of food and beverage options is much better including Nando's, Tapas Revolution and Joe and the Juice. There's plenty of other options, including a Natwest bank! 4* - I do think the loss of John Lewis is going to hit Grand Central hard, it's sad to see such a huge empty unit in such a cool building, but it is a great place in the city which many tourists and locals alike are sure to visit, by choice or by chance.

Although not 100% finished, Grand Central really has the wow factor that Birmingham New Street…read morestation has previously lacked. The highlight for me has to the the huge and beautifully designed skylight, positioned right in the middle of the development. This has changed a formerly dark space, into a vibrant hub of cafes, restaurants and shops. Grand Central can only be a good thing for Birmingham, proving the perfect first impression for people arriving in the city.
