While there I decided that I may as well get my eyesight checked as it has been about a year since my last check up. They were able to fit me in and took my glasses off to check them before giving me an eye test which they then did quite throughly. Health of my eyes all good no drastic change in my vision so I did not need new glasses. I asked about the operation you can have to correct your sight but I was told that my eye sight was not really bad enough. I do like it when I am advised that I dont have to spend money. I also asked about getting frames from on line - I had noticed the cost of their frames in the shop and I was told there would be a charge of €45 for them doing the fitting. I was very impressed that I was not pushed into buying anything else and all my questions were answered clearly and to my satisfaction. While there I thought I may as well get my hearing checked as I do on occasion get told by family members that they think that I am deaf. Had head phones put over my ears to block any sound and all I had to do was press a button when I heard any sound from a machine. Simple. Tested well for my hearing and asked the girl to confirm to said mother I was not deaf. Bless her she told my mother I had 'selective hearing'. ...she is probably quite correct.

Hugely impressed with the care and attention that I got from the guys, the seemingly endless array of tests and the attention to detail was great. After wifey had approved my frames choice I got measured up (again, lots of checking, double checking and measuring) and 4 days later I collected the specs... I dealt with 4 staff members in all and each one was genuinely friendly and helpful (or if not genuinely, then they were great actors, and that's all that matters!) . recommended!

I am writing for the poor employees now yes I had an appointment and I was left over 30 mins near an hour later! It was appreciated and kind of the employees to apologise but THEY SHOULD NOT! It should've been management. You could see how over worked they were or couldn't even interact or try help each other like head less chickens running around cleaning their mess and I say today was the only day ! Half of them are yawning or look like they don't want to be there ! I knew someone who worked there a good while ago and I used to try give benefit of doubt but clearly can't after this today. The work environment is not acceptable I wouldn't blame them if they wanted to hand in their notices!! There is not enough staff funny how it seems very few people working and expected to everything and feel good about their job! This is one place I won't be getting services from not because of the employees but because the management and owners who clearly cannot manage and take care of their staff. I made a joke and the poor girl couldn't even tell she was so confused trying to focus and apologised ? I said you've no need to apologise just looked like you needed a laugh she thanked me and appreciated it and said we all do it's been a day . And yet still polite and respectful to all customers saying good bye or take care. Funny at one stage while waiting we all discussed about it ! Clearly place needs to be closed down we would rather been a store with excellent customer service and staff happy not stressed ! I called a few weeks ago and didn't have the best experience. But these amazing staff members really take a prize ! This morning I had called, I was a bit nervous because the last time the girl on the phone was rude, but Jade kindly introduced herself and the store and how could she help me. I asked a few questions about the lens for glasses and prsi questions, offers I heard and had no issue helping me and I mentioned I had a frame I liked and if I could re-use it! She asked me if I'd like to check if I am eligible for Prsi (I asked these same questions before and wasn't sure how I was going to be spoken to) I apologised it took me about 10 minutes or so but she reassured me and said no worries take your time. Which put me at ease! We checked and I am fully qualified and I had an eye test but I'll be due one around Christmas and she said we would be happy to help book your appointment for when you are available to come into store or if your more comfortable I can online whichever works for me and my schedule. I thanked her for her generosity and will definitely be asking for her when I decide to book! Although I didn't buy anything today, I went on my lunch break I was kindly greeted by Davy at the front desk and said he would find something to help me, either take seat in the waiting area or have a browse. Then I met Katelyn, I loved her attitude and you can tell she cares for her job! She helped me with options and found styles/colours I wouldn't have guessed suited me! She apologised as someone I believe her boss maybe had looked for her and would return back to help. I had a more look and Rebecca came over to me and asked if I was okay or needed help with anything, I thanked her I was being looked after then a few minutes later I asked her some questions and she was so knowledgeable and sweet explained everything to me which really helped! She excused herself as she was asked for. I didn't mind I knew it was very busy and everyone was so respectful! Katelyn came back and I discussed my conversation with Rebecca. You can tell the staff enjoyed working together and have a lovely atmosphere! We went through prices and all my million questions poor girl, and not once did she turn away or looked annoyed, no issue nor fuss! I thanked her for her time and I took all the notes she gave and information for when I can come back into store. I am so pleased and grateful for this experience and definitely restored my faith, I judged too quick and shouldn't have! Thank you to everyone who helped and accommodated me. You all are gold stars! This store is on a high street so it can become busy - be patient and you will be looked after - top notch service! I have bought three pairs of glasses from this store, including sunglasses. I had searched high and low for a suitable pair of glasses and I did not come across a store with such a extensive range. I recently enquired about buying prescription goggles for swimming and I was shocked at the price...€29+change...and they are really good quality!!! Pleasant doctor - unpleasant receptionist…read more The doctor was grand, but the receptionist had a bit of an attitude problem. I arrived at 20 minutes to closing time to get a driver license eye exam. There was no queue and the doctor was available immediately. The exam was 20 Euro. The first thing I noticed was that the receptionist was annoyed that I was there. It wasn't that close to closing time and the eye exam would only take a few minutes. I offered to leave if it was too close to shutting time, but the doctor said nonsense it only takes a few minutes. The receptionist maintained her lemon-sucking expression. The exam was indeed quick. About 10 minutes. I found out I had 20/15 vision and I got my paper stamped for the government. He didn't rush, even though it was close to closing. He checked my eyes, did the chart, checked my side vision, asked the standard form of questions, and was polite and personable. Pros: The doctor seemed able, was very polite, non-rushed, and friendly. Cons: The receptionist was rude. 20 Euros is a bit dear for the service.

That is until the wonderful Mary offered to put contacts in for me while I picked them out (yes I haven't got contacts... can't quite bring myself to put something in my eye!) Suddenly it was all so much easier! Of course they also have the technical expertise and look after your optical health very well. They lose a star for their frame selection. The shop isn't that big so this has to be limited. They usually have quite a nice array of designer frames which reflect what's in fashion, but sometimes you want something different at it's not there. They also usually do a deal on a second pair so they manage to be competitive with the bigger chains. If you want a good service where your eyes are looked after rather than a large conveyor belt opticians experiences this is a good place to go.

I had to leave, get a new form and reapply for another appt which was also weeks away. When I left I called the optician to tell them and the woman who answered the phone was beyond rude. I know the issue wasn't her fault per se but when you work in a customer facing job you sometimes have to apologise for things that aren't your fault. She was really dismissive of me and eventually I told her that I would have appreciated an apology as it was a big inconvenience having taken time off work to go to which she replied "I'll let the optician know." Oh. Right. I'll never go back here!

They have often helped me out when I run out of lenses and have provided a free sample pair to tide me over until my order comes in. Staff are lovely, very professional and highly skilled. Even though I have moved out of the area I still continue to go back to them.

I was quite shocked when presented my prescription from spec savers in a digital format (took a picture of prescription in case I lose the paper one) and it was rejected saying it is required by law to show the original prescription. Seriously, in this age we still need paper? What about saving trees etc? Just kidding about trees. It is easier to but a gun in some countries than a pair of specs in this shop. Selection was quite small. Not coming back. Going to Omni's Spec Savers instead.

I found that bit a little funny, I'd rather have to pay if I dont order anything from them following the test (like the crowd on Talbot street do, something saver) at least with them you could order a pair and in a year's time you can ring them to get the prescription FOC and choose where to order other frames from. But anyway I am pleased with the service they gave me. I brought my own frames which was no bother at all, cost the same as if you did order the frame with them but I'm not mad about all these rectangle monomania and their choice is a little limited since it is a small shop. Got them ready 2 days later.

There is something quite charming about this old school style opticians. The people that work there are very warm and friendly. It differed from my specsavers experience in that It didn't have that cattle market feel. The lady Kathy who tested my eyes was lovely and the gent that helped me pick my glasses too. I highly recommend going to this shop. Very good service and it felt that the people working there genuinely cared.
