My neighbor's cat, Cannonball, was stuck 30-40 ft in a tree for 2 days, crying and in distress, in 100°. After spending all day trying to lure her down, on the phone with non-emergency, animal services, the fire department, and arborists, Speck and Sons Tree Service came to the rescue! If you are in the Sacramento area, and in need of a cat being saved from a tree or tree services, please reach out to Speck & Sons! This man is an absolute hero!

Scary work but Ken Jr. makes it look easy.

Great response time and great work! They came and removed a couple of trees today that were not able to be saved. Ken Jr. made short work of tall trees and offered a very competitive price. The crew left the work area clean and even put my lawn furniture back in place before they left. I highly recommend Speck and Sons for your tree care needs. They're Awesome!

Ken rockin' the saw.

Showed up on time, Gabe a fair estimate and came back to trim the trees. Did a great job and took all the branches away. Very good company.

When the on-site crew was asked whether they had obtained a tree removal permit, they said they did. No permit was issued for the removal of this tree. The supervisor then made a troubling suggestion: when I objected to the removal, they suggested they could simply cut away the half of the trunk that stood on my neighbor's side, leaving my half behind. He also suggested that the roots will be cut away to grade for a road. He strongly urged me to allow full removal, warning that once the tree is dead it would create a safety hazard. Since the tree is on both properties, it was implied that I would have to share the costs later. This communication felt coercive and manipulative, pressuring me into consenting to an action I did not agree with. Evergreen Tree Service proceeded with the removal without respecting the shared ownership of the tree. Their conduct raises serious concerns about ethical standards, legal compliance, and respect for property boundaries. I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking professional, transparent, or law-abiding tree services. The work was performed by: Evergreen Tree Ent Inc. USDOT 3966782 CA 619107 LIC 1095761

Bruno Ferazza Tree Service - Removing top-weight from a tall oak tree

David was thorough, courteous and said that although he was booked up 2 months in advance, he would try to squeeze me in in the next few weeks. He called me and said he could fit me in the following week. I was quite pleased to get it done before all the oak leaves were going to land in my yard! Two days before the work was scheduled, he called me to say he was having problems with his wood chipper and needed to take it in for service. I was disappointed and a little skeptical, but what can you do? Either it was a lie or it was the truth. Regardless, my job wasn't going to be done on the date we had scheduled, so I resigned myself to having purchased another bad deal on Angie's Big Deal. (I have had several of these deals be unsatisfactory.) He (David Ferraza) called me the very next day and said that he was going to try to rent a chipper and still do my service on the day we had originally scheduled the service. I knew doing that would cost him additional money, and I was so impressed that he went above and beyond like that. I still wasn't sure that it would happen, and neither was he. i didn't hear back from him again on Sunday, so when Monday morning came, i assumed my job wasn't getting done. He called me early Monday morning, as I was leaving for work, told me he had good news, that he got his chipper repaired more quickly than he expected, and wouldn't need a rental, so could I please leave the gate open so he could do the work? Luckily he did catch me before I left. I came home and what a difference! David was thorough, left no mess and now there is lots more light in my backyard. I did lose some privacy, but the extra light should allow other trees and plants in my yard to grow. I was sad to lose one of my trees (a big palm that was just too close to the house), but it had to be done. I would hire him back in a heartbeat and can't remember anyone who communicated as well and went above and beyond the call of duty. So many other tradespeople give you all kinds of stories for why they can't complete the work they promised in a timely manner, but David was telling the truth, and then did everything possible to make sure he did right by me and still completed the job on the original agreed-to date. I wish I could have paid by credit card-he only accepts checks. At least that's what he told me.

As a small business owner who owns a home services business, I have very high standards for anyone…read morethat I hire to do work around my house.... My company gets 5 star reviews all the time, but that's because we are excellent, and because I have such high standards for my own company, I don't give out 5 star reviews unless someone truly earns it, and Jaysen with Westlake Land management went above and beyond for me! We live on 5 acres with a stream running through the middle of our property. Over the years, the land alongside the stream became choked with trees, blackberry bushes, and worse yet, poison oak!! It was so bad, that this part of our property was no longer usable, and given the steepness of the terrain along with the berry bushes and poison oak, I decided this was NOT a job for me ;-). I found Jaysen through FB marketplace and took a chance on this young budding entrepreneur and was absolutely blown away! He set clear and realistic expectations, communicated well, showed up on time, got right to work, and did a better job than I ever dreamed was possible. In a word, he worked his BUTT off for three days and not only cleared the tangle of vegetation, but also removed some large trees that had fallen across our stream and removed some large dead branches because he thought it would look better.... the property now looks better than ever and I will heartily refer him to anyone who needs brush clearing / tree trimming services.... and I made a new friend to boot. It doesn't get any better than that. If you need someone for land clearing & brush mowing, Jaysen with Westlake Land Management is THE MAN! Sincerely, Aaron Zambrana, Owner AtoZ Window Screens www.AtoZScreens.com

In late October, we had a roof leak. The roofer who fixed the leak suggested we clear the large…read moretree limbs hanging over the roof (which had contributed to the debris buildup that led to the leak). We got three tree care quotes, and ended up choosing Jesus (the owner of this company), even though his was the highest bid. The main reason was Jesus, who grew up learning from his dad Jose (a long-time tree care crew of a different tree service company). Jesus clearly cared a lot about the trees (e.g., making sure the trimming project would leave the trees healthy), while understanding our needs. So, he suggested changes to some of the limbs and locations of the cut I had envisioned, and explained why. I also liked the fact that he and his dad, along with a few other crew members, would be working on this project. Time line: Originally, I had left a voice mail (Tue), he called back the following day (Wed) to arrange a visit in two days (Fri). On Friday, he gave a verbal quote. I informed him of our decision to go with him the next day (Sat). He emailed a written contract on Monday, and they came early that afternoon to complete the project. We are very happy with the result, and will follow up with his suggestion on maintenance work in a year or so.
