The company who initially made the garter sent the wrong one to me. I was in LA. Wedding in Frederick, M.D. Company who I had ordered garter from was not getting back to me....what a nightmare. Expressed it to M.D. She was one of the two who said they would make time to embroider after calling 20 places. Had to have it done same day. The delicate lace was a concern Angie said but would give it her best shot and it came out SO BEAUTIFULLY!! Better than the company who made the garter!! Upon bringing it in, she was done 1 hour later. She has top of the line equipment also!! Not to say she will be free all the time for last minute jobs but this shop owner goes out of her way for her clients and cares!! You will not go wrong with her for small or big jobs!! Below is the long story...... Tried to find someone here to fix error. No one had time to fix garter and no one had time to embroid it even if itwere fixed. It was last minute. Found a amazing bridal shop in LA called Bella Wedding Bridal. The best wedding dress shop in the country!! They removed the wrong initials on garter and replaced it with beautiful matching lace of garter. They also tried to help me find someone to embroider calling all over town. However, no one had time and too last minute. I had to express by 5pm to M.D. At least I thought bride will have garter on wedding day and will get another one to her for her keepsake. Expressed to M.D. then thought to call around to ask if anyone can embroider garter. No one had time etc. Found Angie at Embroider Me. She said she would give it a shot given lace and machinery. She did not want to damage so she would take a look first. She told my friend to bring it in right away. 1 hour later it was done and AMAZING!! Better than the company I had ordered from and with the correct initials at that. Angie had a very busy schedule but she made time and did the best of the best embroidery and saved the day!! The first thing you notice when you enter the store is that everything is hodge-podged together- the "shelves" are the type of shelves you put in your basement or shed to store boxes- definitely not what you'd use for a store display. That being said, it's new and I'm sure it's expensive to open a new store, so whatever- looks aren't everything. They have a decent amount of items in the store for the size. Good quality sketch pads and pens. My major issue is the attitude of the owner. The owner of the store took every opportunity to speak poorly of the newly closed art supply store that was next door. The owner worked there for many years and opened this current store after the other store closed. When I walked in the first time, the owner was in the midst of a conversation with a customer about how "crazy" the former store owner was, etc etc. That customer left and I was the only one in the store. Since I live in the neighborhood I asked her questions about her new store- I didn't know she had any ties to the former art store in the same shopping complex, so I got to hear how awful this other owner was, how she wanted to overcharge her for everything, etc. I came in again last week to grab a sketch pad and it was the same story- I could hardly believe it. All this effort and breath wasted to put down a business that doesn't even exist anymore. I was so off-put by it, that I didn't even buy the sketchpad. As a business owner in Frederick myself, I think it's pretty easy to assume that we should all play by rule #1: do not speak ill of others when representing your business. Period. I don't know the history between the two women, but that doesn't matter to me- it's just bad business to speak poorly of others. She could have taken the opportunity to explain how she was going to do things differently, what she will carry and her hopes for the store, etc etc- instead she decided to take the low road and insult a company that is out of business and of no threat to her store. While there aren't too many places in town to purchase artist supplies from an independent dealer, I won't be shopping here again.

Just like everywhere else in Frederick when we walked in we were greeted by lovely staff who were more than happy to show us around! I went in expecting to see books and saw so much more!! Letter press art work, book binding workshops, dark room photo developing this place quite literally has it all!! In our short 20 min visit I learned so much! I also learned that I can come back for classes and once I have the basic machinery and cleaning classes down I can come back for open work time in their space! They have a protest sign making class coming up that sounds super interesting and im going to try my best to get back for some special workshops soon!!

The one guy…read moreworking was willing to take what I wanted to ship despite the size of the package and the fact that he was only a few minutes away from shutting down, and he was clearly exhausted, kind of ill, and somehow, *somehow*, still managed to be patient, understanding, and most importantly stuck to hygiene procedures despite it all. He put up with a lot for one shmuck's package sending a lot of groceries to somebody struggling to keep herself fed. Hasan is a bad ass of the post COVID era. He has my respect. And given how grateful I am and the person I'm sending food to while she's struggling to feed herself, I'm not stretching the truth right now.

I've been working with Special Tees in Gaithersburg for several years now through Loiederman Middle School for the Creative and Performing Arts. We do 2 productions a year; we order our cast and crew shirts as well as our general Loiederman Drama shirts. Everyone at Special Tees is great to work with, but working with the director Hannah has been a true creative collaboration. The time and effort put into the shirt designs and the quality of the prints are truly superior. Being a specialized program-our school strives to stand a cut above in our arts programming; Special Tees simply delivers a superior product and superior services-and directly supports our goals as a theater program. At this point, I can't imagine a production being done WITHOUT Special Tees.... Lastly-the shirts and designs hold up well-I have production shirts going back 5-6 years that still look great. Couldn't recommend them more! In fact-we did a glow in the dark shirt a few years back-I recently put it on at bedtime and I thought I had left the a light on.....nope-it was my shirt! In May 2023 I purchased an event shirt from Special Tees for the American Rocketry Challenge for my Son who was a participant. However, in all the excitement of the event, watching the rockets launch, I inadvertently left the shirt on their table. I didn't discover I had left the shirt until later that night in the hotel when we were packing for our early morning flight. Once I got home I contacted Special Tees by email and asked if I could get another shirt. They responded immediately and shipped me another one right away. I used these guys for my company shirts for a promotional day. They not only took on the order on rush status, they took modifications until the day before they were needed. I wouldn't ask this of them typically, but it was amazing they were able to do it for me. I cannot recommend Special Tees enough! The entire process - design, submission, image rework, quote, and payment - was smooth and simple. I created my own shirt design and submitted it via email. This place is awesome! I use them to make all the jerseys/shirts/swag for my football league and they come through every time! If you need something simple or have a complex order, they really take the time to work with you and get you what you need... and they do it fast! The key is that it's a local business, they can do everything that the big online company can do, but being able to meet in person and see products in their offices makes all the difference in getting exactly what you want! read more

Our school ordered our end of the year shirts for our 5th graders through special tees during the pandemic. Due to the circumstances our timeline continuously changed and shortened. I needed an expert to help me understand the complexities of printing a 6-color logo at shoulder size while maintaining the level of detail in the artwork (a JPG file). Great company that helped me out in a pinch. I needed 100 custom wedding t shirts made by the end of the week (it was Tuesday) and they helped me design and print all of them within our time constraints. They even made a new batch after the first one had an error in it (even though the error was 100% my fault). Well, I pick it up 2 weeks later only to find that the shrinkage issue was never fixed. I never received receipts from the business, was never asked if I would like a copy of mine, and this business' phones are not operating for customer/clientele's convenience. There is certainly a language barrier with the owner, however, it seems worthless to go in and attempt to get this fixed a second time. there are better cleaners around the corner, don't waste your time here.
