We went to the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds to go to the 2023 Garlic Festival…read more As far as the fairgrounds go I don't have any qualms with the space. Parking was relatively easy to get in and out of. There are colored zones to pay attention to so you know on which side you parked at. I don't know how well it's managed during an actual fair because I am more urban in that sense and would just as soon go to the fair in Puyallup but for festivals like the ine we went to it seemed to fit the bill nicely. The Garlic Festival itself has it's own Yelp entry which I have a review for from several years ago but that entry is listed as closed probably due to the festival being inactive during the pandemic. The festival has changed since I was last there. They have a lot of food with garlic, vendors selling garlic and other things you would see at a farmer's market but they also had a whole building at the fairgrounds playing up the relationship vampires have with garlic so there were a lot of vendors in this part of the festival that specialized in more Goth type art, gear and household decor (and more) which I really, really enjoyed. Forbidden Love was the name of this sector of the fair I believe. Yes, the Garlic Festival seems to bring in more attendees each year but it seems like the fairgrounds here are still a suitable place to have this size of festival.
