I was hoping to have a VBAC after having a traumatic c-section experience last time. I would not have achieved the VBAC had it not been for the incredible midwives advocacy for me and support of my goal. Virginia and Lorell were so supportive and attentive to my questions and concerns. We had some complications immediately after delivery and Lorell's professional and calm leadership made the whole experience feel so positive still. I would recommend the midwives to everyone! The only downside I experienced was that it was occasionally hard to get ahold of the front desk by phone. However, everyone in the office was friendly and helpful including the front desk staff, the MA's, and the ultrasound techs.

I asked for a referral and got on hormone replacement therapy. 3 months later, Intermountain health dropped all gender affirming care for everyone, including referrals to other clinics who do it. with no warning, I got a letter in the mail. they have handled everything my family needed very poorly, including diagnosing too quickly, and refusing to assist in multiple ways that I have not mentioned. I will never be going to another clinic, ER, or hospital associated with Intermountain health again.

The doctor had called me a day or two before the appointment saying she was too busy to meet with me personally and wanted me to see her nurse. Seeing how this was my first appointment, and I was meeting the person who would be delivering my baby, I refused. I wanted to see a doctor for such an important appointment. During the appointment, she did the routine exam, and then performed an ultrasound. During the ultrasound, she was unable to even find my uterus, and asked me to use the restroom, which was out in the hallway. She made me go out there in nothing but a drape, and there were other patients out there that saw me undressed. I had to walk past them practically nude, past women with their children and husbands. I was humiliated, but hurried through the hallway back into the exam room. She took a second try at the ultrasound, and things did not look as far along as they should with the pregnancy. She told me to come back in two weeks to make sure, but that it was very possible I would miscarry. She then JOKED about me getting to drink over the holidays if I did miscarry, and then said "If you miscarry, it will be the period from hell. Take Advil.". And then she left the room. No compassion, just "this is how it is" attitude. No instructions to come back if I did miscarry. Nothing. I didn't get to ask questions, and was left in total shock. I got dressed, and went out to make my appointment. The doctor was not available for three weeks, instead of two, which seemed like a lifetime to wait. She was standing right there and didn't try to get me in sooner. I think they felt since I was likely to miscarry that they didn't need to try to work me in, I could just take care of myself at home. I went home, and waited for two weeks to miscarry, completely shocked and feeling pretty down. I finally got tired of waiting, called another doctor who got me in the very next morning. And guess what, the baby was perfectly healthy with a perfect heartbeat. I went through two weeks of expecting to miscarry for nothing. I have been in Dr. Christine Hansen care for 7 years. There were two instances where she kept…read moreinformation from me. First when I got a full STD testing, I was told all is well. When I wanted to share the results with my boyfriend now husband I realized I tested positive for HSV-1. This although might seem common in USA but it was news to me. I had gotten it from my ex-husband. So the doctor made an assumption to not share this. No big deal... let's move on. Second time I went to the doctor sharing I have very painful periods in 2023. The doctor did a vaginal ultrasound and said they didn't find any problem and everything looks good. I dont have pcos or anything else. It's just my physiology that causes painful periods and they can prescribe a stronger pain reliever. 1.5 years later my endocrinologist does a renal ultrasound and finds an ovarian cyst. They feel concerned and a few months later they repeat the exam and the cyst persisted and has slightly grown. I call my obgyn receptionist and notify them about this and they mention that I have had cysts before. I am shocked to hear this. I call again to get more details and find that I had a complex cyst on my left ovary and a simple cyst on my right side. Well 1.5 years later the complex cyst has doubled in size. I had a co-worker ask me for obgyn recommendations stating they wanted to change their's due to poor bed side manners. It turned out it was Dr. Christine Hansen. I wasn't surprised since I had heard this before. I chose to stay because she was recommended to me by a close friend who is a local and I agreed with her this doctor does feel smart. I do think this doctor is smart, but she makes assumptions and keeps info from you. She doesn't trust that your genuine concerns and dismisses them (for whatever reason). I can't trust her a third time. Regarding all the negative reviews for the receptionist, I have to thank her. This one star is for her. Now the painful periods make sense. I called them several times and left messages, they failed to return my calls. My insurance company called them several times and their office couldn't be reached. I am not sure why it is so hard to reach this company over the phone. Despite the bad billing experience, I did really like my doctor and the nurses. I am just not sure what happened when it came to the actual billing part. At this point, I have to pay my entire bill (close to $800) as my insurance can't do anything.
