Being rolfed has been on my bucket list for years. After recently retiring, I found the right Rolfer - Emily Wishall. Before I committed to the 10-series,we met and she addressed all my questions and concerns completely. She explained the 10-series well and how it would address my issues - hunched shoulders, uneven gait, sore knees/hips/neck/more. The most frequent complaint about being rolfed is that it is painful. Let me assure you, that is not the case with Emily. She was tuned in to the level of pressure that you can tolerate, even without you telling her. She uses a light oil when pressing the skin so that the skin doesn't "burn". I signed up for the 10-series feeling confident she was the professional practitioner I needed and could trust to get the results I was seeking. She begins each session with assessing your walk and stance and addresses any questions/concerns from the last session. After the session, she again assesses you to see what has changed. She provides written information regarding the sessions, responding to any specific questions, and even provided some simple exercises for me when asked to keep me aware of the changes in my body. Working with Emily was a pleasure. She is professional in her approach, warm and supportive, listens thoughtfully and follows up with information that is relevant. Her maturity, skill and approach made the entire experience successful for me. I completed the 10-series and was fundamentally changed. My neck is "longer", and my shoulders dropped and relaxed. My walk is so different - free, relaxed, balanced. She even noticeably diminished the scar tissue in my neck from a whiplash injury 20 years ago. My soreness became negligible and I have been able to maintain the changes for the last 6 months, in part because of the educational support she provided during the process. I highly recommend Emily. I just finished going through the 10 Series with Emily. What an amazing experience. My physical structure is in a place it probably hasn't seen in 30 years. My need for my chiropractic visits have reduced substantially and more importantly I feel great! Emily is incredibly thoughtful, pays close attention to your body structure before and after every session and talks with you about what she saw, what she did and what you should be thinking about regarding your posture. It was recommended by a chiropractor to try rolfing but I was afraid because I'd heard how painful it was. I gave Emily a try and have been seeing her for over a year now. She really knows what she's doing. And it is not painful. She helps keep my body aligned and supple and flexible. I am a college athlete and had a back injury from lifting. I had an x-ray, MRI, saw multiple sports doctors and nobody could figure out how to take my pain away. Emily has been working with my son for about 7 months. He has severe scoliosis and was a candidate for surgery but we were trying to avoid that.
