I booked a Signature classic facial with a gift card my girls gave me as a gift. Before going they have you fill out some forms to ensure your skin type. When I arrived I was greeted and checked in. They took me to a waiting area where you get a locker to put your personal items in and a robe to put on if you so desire. Once Olivia came to get me...she escorted me to my room and asked me to remove my shirt to put this towel around me while she left the room. Olivia came back in and explained everything to me. Then the magic started. She initially began to clean my skin...ahhh the smell was so wonderful and relaxing. Soft music played in the background as she massaged my face. She then exfoliated my skin and put mandelic acid on. She put warm steam on my face whole she gave me an arm and hand massage. Then she used a warm towel to wipe that off and did an extraction of my Tzone. Then she put more moisturizers on my face. Oh my was this an amazing experience. My partner purchases gift cards for massage and facial for our adult Daughter and I multiple times a year for the Spavia on Blue Oaks in Rocklin California. I live a pretty good drive away from there (we used to live closer) it's about a 30-35 minute drive each way from the location so it is important to me to get both of my services on the same trip. I explained that when I book it. I was looking forward to a relaxing spa day as a way to spend my day off of work. Let's back track to last year...I took the day off work on that day, drove there for another spa day and was told upon arrival that they had to cancel me. Needless to say, I was very upset and disappointed. They told me that one of the staff had a medical emergency and there was nothing that could be done about it. They told me the owner was on vacation and couldn't be reached, and then said they could not refund me for the gift cards. So I just had to lose my vacation day I took off work and the gas I used to drive there. They pleaded with me to give them another chance. I consented and said we would give them another chance. Fast forward to today. I had my massage, and was seated in the waiting area for approximately 15 minutes waiting for the Esthetician to call me and they told me the same story AGAIN. The esthetician had a "medical emergency" but they would be happy to rebook me. They proceeded to tell me the "owner was in vacation" and couldn't be reached. They told me they could not refund me. Literally the exact same story I got last time. I do not have any other available days off coming up that I can use to drive all the way back there for a service that I don't even want now. I have a busy job and work 6 days a week. My partner does this so I can have a full day of relaxation. How does the EXACT same scenario happen twice? Both times the owner cannot be reached? This is not a proper way to do business. The first time I thought, OK...stuff happens sometimes. I did not say anything negative or disparage this business. Today was amazing. After my first visit during my first pregnancy over 5 years ago, I have been desperate to take care of myself again! The owner, John, had set me up with Shane that he recommended for my needs of tension, never ending stress and exhaustion. He didn't let me down with this amazing recommendation! From the moment I arrived something this time let me relax knowing I felt very heard, I can't tell you why. I vaguely told Shane what I needed and that Ive got a 3 and 4 year old at home one year apart on the day so my stress levels are through the roof and my body's in dire need of self care! If purchasing a gift card for a loved one, be aware that due to Spavia's "corporate policy" the recipient is required to divulge their own credit card information in order to book services, irregardless of whether that credit card is even used. My son purchased a gift card (worth several hundred dollars) as a present for me. After not being able to book online, (being prompted to leave my credit card), I called the salon. Staff member Cynthia interrupted and said, "That's company policy, there are NO exceptions." It's understandable that the business needs to make provision for a no-show, but they have the $$$ from the gift card-they are already ahead of the game. If they are unable to deduct money from the card, then that should be addressed internally, and not expose both themselves and the customer to problems. With IT security breaches increasing and spiraling costs that we all bear because of credit card fraud, this "corporate policy" is just poor customer service. Really disappointed, and I've not even been in to the salon yet. I will be letting my son know what's happened, and unless he is willing to address this issue, the charge for the gift card will be contested to his bank, which BTW is more aware of needless information gathering than it seems Spavia Blue Oaks is. read more

I got a gc for my birthday. I'd never heard of this place and was super excited to try it. I absolutely LOVE massages! I get them regularly, have tried all different types of massages, at many different spas. The ambiance 10/10! Very relaxing and comfortable space in the changing and waiting area. Staff was friendly but professional. They offer a couple little beverages, like tea and water. Massage itself was -100/10. He did nothing. He spent most of the time rearranging the sheet or pausing. It was the worst massage I've ever experienced, including my jr high boyfriend. Also, I had filled out the questionnaire before hand and he obv didn't read it bc I selected the option with limited talking (I'm there to relax!) and he wouldn't stop talking about how he'd recently had a child that he wasn't all that excited about. Oof. He was honestly kind of weird. It was not enjoyable. Next was a facial. I've never actually had a professional facial before, so I was excited for that! It was a mostly comfortable experience. She massaged my arms and it was GOOD! It made me sad she wasn't my masseuse for the body massage!! I did notice that she was applying the product much closer to my eyes than I usually do, but I thought, wellll she's the professional and I don't know anything about facials, who am I to question her....Well that night when I was trying to go to sleep my eyes started burning. They were actually watering, burning and irritated for about two days. I couldn't wear eye makeup and the whites of my eyes were a little red. My friends and I booked a birthday party here. We had four massages and one facial because they could not do more than four massages at the same time. I received the facial and my skin feels smooth and well cleaned. After your treatment, you are given warm tea or water. They allowed us to privately relax in the men's side of the retreat and allowed us to bring our own snacks and drinks while the birthday girl opened up presents. I'm not one to write reviews but this place and massage therapist Millie did amazing! I do a lot of heavy lifting and knew I had a lot of tension and knots on my shoulders and lats. Millie before starting asked me how I would like the massage. And confirmed I wanted firm and to attack all knots. She DELIVERED! I didn't even know my jaw could have so much tension and she was able to release that as well. At the end of the massage I felt so much relieve and was able to move my neck and shoulders so loosely (if that makes sense) that I forgot how that felt. 100% recommend and if you want firm, Millie is your girl! I had got the Premiere membership to give their services a try and cancelled it after the minimum 3 month commitment. I was a little irritated right off the bat when signing up. I had inquired about the membership a week prior to signing up where the front desk employee gave me all the pertinent information but failed to mention they were going to implement a monthly price increase in a few days. That would have been nice information to have, but I reluctantly joined anyways. I've tried many services and overall could not justify the cost for the quality. Massage- of all the available services this is probably the only one I would return for. A pretty typical massage and is relaxing. I think they use lotion though, not oil, which is fine but it would be nice if it was warmed up a bit. Facial Peel- absolutely not worth it. I had ZERO peeling and felt like it made no difference at all in my complexion. When I was gowning back up, I also noticed that the esthetician left her notes in the room which had step by step instructions on it. I would hope when there's only a handful of peel options a 'how to guide' shouldn't be needed if someone is well trained. Body Wrap- got the job done in that my skin felt smooth and exfoliated afterwards. The shower setup was nice as well. However, the actual process was uncomfortable. I slept on a plastic tarp that was later used to wrap me up and the leftover scrub on my body made me keep squirming making it difficult to relax. When I voiced my concern, the therapist compared me to the princess and the pea! The hot oil scalp massage also felt more like a mask than a massage. I don't feel like much actually made it to my scalp and it took me 2-3 days to eventually wash all the oil out. I wanted to like this spa, but between the price and quality of services I think I'll be going elsewhere. read more

Let me start by saying the massage is always the most important part. I don't care about locker rooms, waiting areas or robes. For how much this place charges they should have some massage therapists that know how to identify muscle knots and places of tension build up. The two massage therapists that helped my girlfriend and I were lazy or inexperienced. We both selected FIRM pressure and definitely received Gentle instead. I've never felt more sore or uncomfortable after a massage, but some how I did at this place. Both of us recommended you never go here and spend your money somewhere else. Even the cheap Asian massage places are more beneficial then this place. read more

I wanted to do massage and facial also but they didn't have availability so I booked a 100 minute massage. I don't know why I didn't receive any massage on my head. I thought he was going to do it last.. but didn't. 100 min should be head to toe. I really enjoy having my scalp massaged, my toes individually rubbed and lightly pulled along with legs getting stretched out. Over all it was good but would of been great with more detail. Had the opportunity to enjoy a couples massage with my friend back and March. The business looks small when you walk in but your led to a large bathroom to change in and given a locker to secure your belongings. After you change, you walk into the next room to relax until the masseuse is ready. We hung out in there for a little bit since we were a tad early for our appointment. The warm bean bag things for your neck were a nice touch. Finally we were called back to the room set up with two massage tables. Our masseuses asked us about our problem areas and our pressure preference. They left and we got under the blankets on the tables and waited for their return. From there it was 90 minutes of bliss! The masseuses are very attentive except one kept calling my friend by the wrong name. Hahah! No worries, her massage was great I think she's going back tomorrow. I 100% recommend! As a Mother's Day gift on May 12th I scheduled my mom an appointment at spavia for today Thursday the 16th for a 100 minute sports deep tissue massage with Dante. My little sister who is in elementary school had a shortened day today due to their open house in school later so my mom had to shorten her massage to 60 minutes and they were extremely accommodating when making the changes as well as being completely receptive and kind anytime I called to make clarifications about her upcoming appointment. Upon leaving she immediately called me and told me how amazing she felt after her massage and how great Dante did (highly recommend!). I wanted her to get a treatment at the fanciest and best spa in our area and spavia did not disappoint! As mentioned in other reviews she let me know that she was provided a robe and slippers as well as a locker to secure her belongings during her massage which I love. We will certainly be coming back for massages together and getting memberships, thank you spavia for giving my mom the amazing treatment she deserves!!! read more

So an update to my review. Spoke with the manager who had an answer to every one of my issues, but not to my satisfaction. The therapist never checked in with me at all. The manager was never once on my side. Because I have no desire to return to the possibility of another horrible treatment, she said there was nothing she could do for me. She mentioned that the therapist had worked for a professional sports team. Even those therapists check in with the players to make sure that the pressure is ok and if there is any place that is of concern. If that happened, I would be charged 50% of the service I booked. Booked this place for the wife for a nice 80 minute massage. Hoping she'd come back relaxed, however all I got was an earful about how awful her massage was. She described it as a very, very light massage with the massage therapists phone buzzing on vibrate constantly through session. "It was like an 80 minute massage of someone just reapplying lotion over and over again." She kept having to remind the massage therapist to go a kneed a little harder. After the session was over the wife brought up the issue with front desk. They just chastised her and told her to next time just book a deep tissue massage. Definitely avoid this place. Best massage EVER! I had a seriously limiting shoulder pain and was recommended to Spavia by my aerobics instructor. I signed up for a 100 minute massage and got Elizabeth. I'm a big believer in the value of therapeutic massage so have had hundreds in several cities and states but never a massage this great. Elizabeth was amazing and I was so relaxed I fell asleep half way through. Also, her knowledge of anatomy and the application as well as suggestions to take home were an added benefit.
