She used nice long strokes with firm pressure and was receptive to feedback from me on whether to press harder or lighter. I left feeling relaxed and well-taken care of. Mon Siam is a treasure tucked away on the Alameda. There are restaurants and a couple shops close by, like Recycle Books and New/Found Vintage Market. I enjoy spending time in that area.

I understand Swedish massage is typically lighter, but I expected more pressure given the "firm" description -thinking I'd have the best of both in one massage. While the massage was enjoyable, it felt lighter than my preference and left me wanting more. It wasn't bad by any means, just not my style, as I prefer a deeper, more consistent pressure. I've heard some people complain that their pain didn't completely go away after a session, especially for more serious conditions like a bulging or dislodged disc. I think that's not a fair expectation. Lily is a massage therapist, not a doctor or a surgeon. Even medical treatment for those conditions takes time, and sometimes requires more advanced care. Massage is meant to support your body--not to "fix" everything in one visit. What Lily does extremely well is help release muscle tightness, improve circulation, and help your body relax. I personally tend to overwork my body, and I often have tightness in my arms, legs, and knees. After a few sessions with her, I've felt significant relief, and my muscles feel much better each time. If you're looking for someone to help with muscle tension, stress, and overall relaxation, I highly recommend Lily. Their online booking system is also very convenient and there is easy parking in their lot. The offer a 5 massage package (you get a discount if you pre-pay) and we usually get those. The signature massage (mix of Thai massage and other techniques) and Swedish massage are both excellent. If you have any areas of focus you can let them know beforehand and they really do their best to focus on your problem areas. I highly recommend them and have been disappointed with other massages after I started going here :)
