They do not listen, they do not investigate, and they clearly pick and choose who they want to side with. Communication is awful unless it's them sending out complaints or threats. From the day I moved in, I've felt targeted. One of my neighbors openly bragged about getting the previous tenant--who was a Black woman--evicted before I even unpacked. She is clearly buddy-buddy with the office, and it shows in how situations are handled. It feels discriminatory and extremely biased. I travel often and am barely home, yet I've received multiple noise complaints. When I asked for exact dates and times, I provided proof that I was CLOCKED INTO WORK during every single incident they claimed happened. Instead of acknowledging that, the office refused to even look at my evidence. That tells you everything about how little they care about the truth. The living conditions are just as bad. The unit is infested with roaches and scorpions despite multiple pest control requests. I woke up to FIVE dead roaches in my bedroom. Maintenance is useless--I submitted a work order for a broken light when I first moved in, someone came to "check it," and it was never fixed. The property is filthy and neglected. The pool has been empty since I moved in. Dumpsters are constantly overflowing with trash and furniture. Parking is a nightmare--I have one assigned spot, and my car has been chipped multiple times from neighbors hitting it with their doors because of how cramped everything is. Meanwhile, my neighbor's large dog barks constantly and my upstairs neighbor stomps day and night. I've never complained, because I understand apartment living comes with noise. Clearly, that same basic understanding is not extended to me. After recently being hospitalized for breathing issues, I am seriously concerned about the safety of these units and whether there may even be mold or other environmental problems. This place is poorly managed, unfair, and completely unacceptable. Between the disrespect from the office, the ignored evidence, the pest infestation, and the overall living conditions, this has been an awful experience. They have also repeatedly sent me 10-day notices claiming I have unauthorized occupants living in my unit, which is completely false--I live alone. I've offered multiple times for them to come inspect my apartment and verify this themselves, but they have shown zero interest in actually checking the facts. Instead, they continue to make accusations without proof, which is not only frustrating but feels like harassment at this point. Save yourself the stress and do not move here.

There were some office staff and maintenance employees who were friendly, professional, and genuinely tried to help. Unfortunately, one maintenance employee in particular, Robert, was involved in most of the issues I experienced, and it made living here far more frustrating than it should have been. I had multiple maintenance requests that were marked as completed before the work was actually finished, which meant I was constantly following up on repairs. It often felt like the priority was closing work orders as quickly as possible rather than making sure the repairs were actually completed. The biggest example is my laundry closet door. Maintenance removed the door, folded it up, and left it next to my washer because they said they needed to order a replacement part. They never came back to install it. After I moved out, I was charged for the damaged door. I disputed the charge and explained that maintenance had removed the door and never completed the repair, but because the work order had been marked as completed, I was told there was nothing they could do. Being charged for a repair that maintenance started but never finished is unacceptable. I also dealt with an ongoing bug issue. Pest control told me my front door needed new weatherstripping because there was a gap allowing bugs inside. When I asked maintenance about it, I was told the pest control company was "just spraying water" and that Weidner used them because the company was owned by someone's spouse in Weidner corporate. As a resident, it was frustrating to receive conflicting explanations instead of simply having the problem addressed. There were also abandoned vehicles sitting in parking spaces for months despite the property's towing policy, even after I brought it to the offices attention multiple times. Carolina was the person I dealt with regarding this issue, and both interactions left me feeling like my concerns were being dismissed and it was an inconvenience. I don't understand why enforcing the property's own policies seemed to be such an issue. They also sent out emails to residents complaining about various things like smoking on the property, but their own maintenance workers regularly drive around on their golf carts smoking cigarettes. For the amount of rent I paid, I expected much better communication, accountability, and follow-through. Instead, I spent far too much time chasing repairs and dealing with unfinished maintenance. While there were employees who genuinely tried to help, my overall experience left me feeling like resident concerns weren't taken seriously. I would not choose to live here again, and based on my experience, I would not recommend this property. It's very "slum lord" the way that it is ran.

Desertscape (previously Royal Palm) has been managed by Cobblestone Communities since 2021…read more Previously management allowed the park to deteriorate somewhat, but it was still a nice place to live and management was helpful and involved. Since taking over as manager, Cobblestone has had 5 on site managers, with each change of declining ability. Current management has apparently no authority without referring to "Corporate" and corporate refuses to address the concerns of the residents. Several have sold and moved and some even abandoned their homes just to get away. Cobblestone did massive remodelling after taking over, but the construction took nearly two years, plagued with delays and shoddy workmanship. Today it looks nice, but much of the infrastructure doesn't work. If you plug more that two crackpots in the kitchen, the breaker will blow. Lights in the BBQ area are attached to the ceiling with zip ties. I can go on. Problems like these have been reported to management, but nothing is done. There are some really nice people that live here and they put on some really nice activities. Cobblestone does supply some financial support, but otherwise is not active in the community. Desertscape has a great location and with proper management it could be a great place to live, but while Cobblestone is involved, stay away.

If you are an educated person pick a different place you will not find like-minded individuals inside the park. I often think it's a prerequisite to have mental issues to be a resident here. Once you buy a home in this place it will be nearly impossible to sell it. Places have been on sale for 3 years and no one is moving in. The rent is as high as a luxury apartment. In the past the only thing going for it was that it had cheap rent. Not the case anymore and many people have been kicked out because their SSI does not cover basic bills. They treat seniors awful which is shameful. The person who suggested I move in here is no longer my friend and an awful human being spreading lies about me to all the neighbors causing an unsafe environment for me that is in legal advisement. She is literally the Karen of Desertscape. I literally work 24 hours a day just to avoid coming home and pay unexpected expenses. Who wants to spend their life like that especially their retirement? The nice people that I didn't mind are all moving or have moved. They have done some very unethical things to my neighbors that could be considered elder abuse. I have a mortgage so I'm unable to move but working on figuring out some legal options. In the meantime I just keep to myself for safety reasons. Also, the responsibility of chores and charges on utilities was misinformation and lied to me when I moved in and now sadly most residents can't afford it or not physically able to keep up. it's in a horrible neighborhood that is crime ridden and very noisy and they refuse to hire a security guard which was also promised when we first moved in. The new owners do not have a good reputation and do not live locally. There's also been a lot of thefts. The only good thing is it's close to the light rail so I can actually walk to the light rail to get to work and the airport when I travel. It seems to be a good option for handicapped people who don't have a car in order for them to get around. But really it's the only benefits to living there. Look elsewhere. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Smelled like cleaning agents but I figured that was a good thing. It was not. The staff had released a "smell bomb" to cover the fact that a smoker had lived there previously. I have asthma. They explicitly said it was a strict non-smoking community. Now all of my clothes, bedding, and furniture reek of smoke and I often wake me up with coughing fits. The trash at the complex is never emptied, and people feel the need to overfill the public cans (see pic). Shattered glass tequila bottles from a burnt-out bbq litter the sidewalk and grass around the communal BBQ pits. My dog cut his paws on a morning walk (see pic). The pools are filthy, literally a green color due to algae buildup (see pic). Scorpions have free domain here. I have killed many inside my apartment, and trapped even more on my patio. Eerie to know how close they are. I have called the police 3 different times for domestic abuse (all different parties involved). So yeah, if you're a wife-abuser or drug addict this place is fine. If you're even a halfway-decent human, stay away.

Within our first four months of renting, our unit developed a serious cockroach infestation due to the neglect of cleaning by neighbors. Our apartment was full of hundreds of roaches; they lived under our couch, behind our fridge, and in the bathroom. We notified management the second we saw the first roach. To summarize, we received five "bug bombs" that we had to do extensive preparing for (emptying cabinets, covering furniture, and leaving the apartment for the day). None of these treatments were successful, nor did management try to solve the problem beyond introducing harmful and obviously meaningless chemicals into our apartment. When we chose to break our lease, we had to fight to get out of paying our buyout fee even though the tenants were ignoring their legal responsibility to provide us with a safe and healthy apartment. The ONLY redeeming quality of this apartment complex is a manager named Sara. She was the only person we felt cared about us and our situation, yet she was prevented from helping us by her boss, a woman who "managed" the property out of California. Please do not take this review lightly. You do not want to live at AZURA. SideWe also had packages broken into, lack of hot water, and countless issues with maintenance.
