We have recently found black mold in our vents. We made TWO emergency maintenance orders for it as we have two small children, one as young as 3 months old. Never got put in. Called this morning, that one wasn't put in either. Called the office directly, that one was finally put in. And the whole time I got told it was dust and dirt and "mold isn't a thing". I was asked if i was a first time mom and when i said no, the older maintenance worker had said "just wanted to make sure you weren't just an over protective first time mom". We have been sick since before November. We have had respiratory infections, pink eye, cough that never leaves, my son and i have been on constant nebulizer treatments for our asthma, sore throats, etc. A month ago we had annual inspection, I had notified the office lady plus maintenance who was with her and was told it was the air filter. It is not. But they switched it out anyway. Nothing is being done. It is currently inhabitable. We are being told we are wrong, Arizona "doesn't grow mold" and that we don't know what we are looking at. Changing vent covers isn't enough, the whole system needs to be sterilized. People die from black mold. But they don't care. Please go somewhere else. read more

This companies slogan is "weidner cares" the management does not care about anything but getting the apartments filled and making money off of residents. They appear so nice, involved, and clean when you go to view and speak with someone. Once you move in you're thrown to the wolves and all the imperfections and lies come to light. There's several issues with pests, stray animals, unequipped and lazy maintenance men who have no kind of customer service training and are rude. They take weeks to fix things you can't terminate a lease over and the second you have a maintenance request that you can terminate a lease over they blow up your phone and rush you to be on their time to fix it. They enter without notice or warning. You can email and call about not getting notified when the water to your building is off, you get empty promises and still no notification to changes in the premises or huge construction zones expectation times. They struggle with keeping a clean property all around. The pools are gross and the main one has been inoperable for over a year. This is the worst experience I've had with an apartment complex. I cannot wait until my lease is over. I wouldn't recommend this place to a homeless family they're better off in the streets. read more

Might as well live in my car, total insanity. wouldn't live here again for half the price. Spent the first 3 months trying to get working AC, spent the last 6 months with no warm water. Can take them weeks to address a maintenance request. management will outright ignore your emails if you try to bring up issues. in constant violation of lease agreement. cops are called on a near nightly basis for one reason or another, place doesn't close the gates so it's crawling with homeless drug addicts all the time. If I had known I wouldn't ever have AC and warm water simultaneously I would've just lived in my car. front office pretty much told me I'm SOL and will have to deal with cold showers. read more

There are birds living in apt 3130 lol .... Door has been wide open since the office showed the apartment on Monday. We tried to tell y'all but you keeping saying "we will send someone to check it out" but, it's still open & currently occupied by pigeons ... Future Residents: My Bestfriend who's lived here for 1year now has only had one issue and it's how attentive the office is. They don't care that her fire hydrant has been broken for 3months now, that her flooring is lifting because of a water leak and that her neighbors door (i don't think they live there anymore) has been open since Monday. She had me call for (her English is not great) her 3 times now. Security said "we can't do anything our people don't get there till another hour", i called the office for her twice now and both times they said they would do something about it but, no movement. Update: Someone just moved in today and the office didn't tell the new tenants the door has been open for 4 days now & that pigeons were living there! Lived here for 2 years -Maintenance sometimes took longer than a week to get things fixed -truck was broken into twice -people doing drugs in the parking lot - manager told me a one month notice to vacay was sufficient. Once I moved out and turned in keys, the office said they required 2 months and that I needed to pay rent for the month. Sorry in advance, but this is a long review. There was a little "please leave a review" card on my kitchen counter when I moved in, so here I go. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars and not 1 is because Destiny was great. She was very personable and made the application process quick and painless. The apartment itself also has a nice-sized balcony and washer/dryer. The area is not too loud, but the paint job in the apartment is ridiculous, there's paint everywhere. I can also hear every step that my upstairs neighbors take, along with their dogs and children. I'm also pretty sure they're insomniacs because they are constantly walking around and 2 AM, but nothing earplugs can't take care of. Now for the real issue: I moved in on December 29th, and I have seen more COCKROACHES in these 2 weeks than I've seen in my entire life. On my second night here I saw 4 in the kitchen, 3 crawling on the walls and floors (and my unpacked boxes!!) in the living room, and 2 in my closet. The office was closed for a few days for the new year so I couldn't contact anyone until Tuesday. The lady on the phone assured me, that someone would come the next day and assess the issue and spray, or if it were a big issue, they would do a "clean out". I had work the next day so I put my cat in the bathroom to try and keep her out of the way while they were here. When I got home, my cat was out of the bathroom, but I saw no evidence that anyone sprayed (granted I've never had any sort of pest issue in my life, so I was unsure what to look for), and no service papers were left. But I do know, the roaches were still in full effect! I went to the office that Saturday and asked if someone had sprayed at all and was told that they couldn't find any record of them coming into my apartment (not sure who let my cat out of the bathroom, but OK?). She assured me that someone would come out again next Wednesday. By this point, I could barely move around my apartment without seeing a roach, they were out at all hours, not just at night. I asked the office lady if there was any way that I could change apartments (because they really are decent apartments and I would be happy to stay). She said unfortunately not without "upgrading" and I would have to pay a new deposit/fees etc. I asked if there was a way to break my lease without paying a fee considering, this apartment was very clearly infested before I moved in. She said it was not likely. They "sprayed" again this past Wednesday, and all it did was move the roaches from the kitchen to the bathroom. At this point, my anxiety and nerves are so bad. I'm literally tip-toeing around my own apartment looking for bugs in every room before I walk in. I'm scared to unpack but I don't know if they are already in my boxes. I only stay in my room because I've seen the least amount of roaches in here (even though I've now seen 2 in my bed). I've been here 2 weeks and I've yet to cook anything because I don't want to attract even more to my apartment. I've left voicemails with the office on days that I work and wouldn't get off in time to go talk to someone face-to-face, and I have yet to receive a call. I've even sent an email explaining the situation and asked for a response or a phone call... nothing. Unfortunately, I'll be breaking my lease when I get my taxes because there's no way I can live like this for an entire year. I just wish the office cared at all about these issues. Been here 3 yrs now. Here are my pros & cons. Pros: Neighbors are humble, quiet and keep to themselves. No issues with any of them. Some can be annoying but found that talking things out helps. Noise, not really anything you wouldnt expect from large apt complex near freeway. ER vehicles, traffic and the ocassional car accident. Sure we have people driving through with their music loud & ocassional scene of couples or random people fighting/arguing. But its not all the time. Office staff- dont really go there unless I have too. I do see there are alot of different faces, not familiar with anyone now. Last time I went in the office, the young lady at desk was professional and nice. Maintenance guys are alright. Ive met some really nice people who have come to fix things. And maybe one who wasnt. Now for the CONS: ROACHES. Big problem! The kitchen- cabinets, drawers and undersink. Dishwasher is infested. I no longer.use it. The bathroom is getting them more since neighbors left. Now the bedroom, this drives my anxiety insane to no end! One was crawling down the bed, which promtped me to write this! I wasnt able to catch it to kill it so now my anxiety isnt going to let me sleep. Because Im going to be worried about it all night! Ive experienced them crawling on me as I slept. Crawling on my face! My blankets, bed, dresser and walls. They come out from under carpet, vents, drains, outlets and even the front door. Ive done home remedies, spraying them down with Raid & whatever is recommended by pest control, which worked for a short time but the ocassional need for someone to come out and spray is needed morseo weekly. I have continued to remove things from my apartment so there isnt so much clutter or places for the roaches to nest. Other cons-mold in shower, no matter what I use is not working; fan in bathroom is non-exsistent. Carpet. Carpet is disgusting. This was not new or cleaned when I moved in. Stains rose up after I had it professionally cleaned. I have to get it cleaned at least 2xs a year. Lastly, RENT. Seems we are upped by $300 or more at renewal time. I dont see why it should be. If I have to pay $1500 for one bedroom, then I shouldnt have a roach problem. Its not just me, Ive spoken with others who are frustrated with this problem. So overall, isnt all that bad. Please read ALL other YELP reviews too, I'm upset I didn't before leasing here. The reviews you'll read are VERY accurate. This place is a disaster& it's 2022. There's still no hope! For 1: The complex is infested with bugs! Roaches to be exact. The complex say they come every Wednesday. Therefore, no matter how many times they come& spray the bugs never leave. It gets worst! For 2: If you ever need resources or guidance on a EMERGENCY situation or even a general question, THE LEASING office doesn't answer phone ever. Call them right now, I bet it'll go straight to voicemail. They have LACK of communication, they always say we'll have someone call you back ASAP. Days go by, nothing so you have to call them again& they repeat themselves. And then they send you a email and want you to discuss it with them via email or in person. I have TWO jobs I can't come in during office hours! For 3: The carpeting is not put together right! Literally strings hanging out. And where the title& carpet meets are sharp, could eventually cut your foot. THEY WON'T fix it unless you put it down before you move in. Or BLAME IT ON YOUR PET. ( again read the YELP reviews) For 4: "Catie" The property manager is BEYOND rude! Every phone call I've had with her, she caught an attitude to simple questions. I feel like I need to update my review considering my 2nd lease term with motif was absolutely nothing like the first. If you're a first time renter here go for it, they'll treat you like gold; however if you're considering moving units at any point I'd advise against it. I was in a one bed unit from 05/2020-04/2021 it was great after I moved in I really had no issues, I was in the building right off cactus facing the road so the noise was bad but bearable. Maintenance always came within a day or two of the request, no complaints about the maintenance staff, their supervisor however... Which brings me to the 2nd lease term. With things switching to WFH we needed a bit more space & decided to upgrade to a 2 bed 2 bath, we were there from 4/2021-2/2022. Before we moved in fees were always a surprise, we were constantly being told different amounts for the deposits, if I remember right we ended up paying $200 more than we were initially told. When we moved in there was food stuck to the counters, hair in the bathroom drains & stuck on the walls most of which was painted over, my favorite part someone's used false eyelash in the 2nd bath medicine cabinet along with some brown goop. I wish I had taken more pictures but the vinyl (which they're now charging us for) was peeling & coming up where the 2nd bath and kitchen meet, the picture attached is how they "fixed" the carpet in the first bedroom which had a stain too, we're also being charged for carpet replacement, why when they needed to replace it in the first place? I understand I had cats but the damage was done before we got there. These people have absolutely no respect for anyone elses time or schedule. During our move out process in January we were scheduled for our move out inspection, no problem, the problem however was with their lack of communication within the office and with their residents. When the 1st inspection was scheduled it was perfect, I was off work & had the day to wait I was told between 10am-4pm; around 3 when no one had showed I called the office & was told the maintenance sup was out so no inspections were being done, ok fine but dont you think some kind of notice would have been nice? They email blast you any other time. This happened 3 other times before it was agreed (end of Jan) that no pre-walk was needed since it had become such an inconvenience & we were sch to move the 2nd week of Feb, I was told this was documented & I was assured I wouldnt have to worry about getting anymore calls about the pre walk. Then on Feb 9th (3days before we were supposed to be out & moving to a different county), I get a lovely voicemail from the maintenance sup Alan, at 12 o'clock in the afternoon on a Wed. I was working, sorry other people have jobs too Alan; The voicemail went as follows "Yeah hello this is Alan from motif maintenance I was supposed to possibly do a walk between 10 and 1 today if you're out of the apartment but, I don't know, no answer, thanks bye..." I was given no 48hr notice telling me someone would be entering my home, in AZ this is illegal, I was also told a week before that I didn't need to worry about a move out inspection. So I called the office around 12.30 and spoke with Christina I believe, who told me she would figure out what was going on and then give me a call back. I made it extremely clear that I was working from home with sensitive info & would need some kind of notice before they got there so I could make sure I wasn't taking calls or in a meeting, she said ya no problem they would try to get there during my lunch hour if possible, which was around 2. I heard nothing back, until 4pm when someone from the office and I'm assuming Alan came to my door, banging like they were the freakin cops. I was sitting in the window right by the front door, working, which you could see from the stairs. I was on a work call so having someone pounding on your door during that isn't pleasant. Why was giving me a call to let me know they were coming so hard? Again, no 48hr notice so they shouldn't have been there in the first place. Now that we're out, I get 3 emails on the same day Feb 23rd, telling me there is a $143 balance owed on my account. This is the first time they had contacted me about it. 4 DAYS after, a Sunday, I get a voicemail telling me if I don't contact them about the balance or put $74 on my account they would send the balance to collections. Little soon for that don't ya think? Considering we just left their unit less than 2 weeks ago? And they called me an hour before they closed? how convenient for them. All in all if you can find somewhere else to live I would definitely do so, their $400 rent increases aren't justified and you'll end up paying to get your car out of their tow yard at some point or replacing your valuables. This is the most ghetto place I've ever seen in my life, and I moved here from LA. SHORT STORY DO NOT MOVE HERE. Parking is horrible Leasing office doesn't care about issues You can hear everything all the time ( people fighting, music) Police are constantly having to be called Homeless people digging through trash cans Parking lot, grass areas etc disgusting Constantly having to put in maintenance request Gates don't work Cars getting broken into and hit with no cameras on property. LONG STORY: If you want to deal with your neighbors domestic problems and get your car broken into and hit in under six months of you moving in, you should definitely move here. And they are really helpful because they don't have cameras, and the police are called so much they won't come, unless someone is getting stabbed. And I know that because my neighbor was getting stabbed. My roommate and I have filed so many police reports, and have contacted the leasing office so many times with nothing being done about our issues. I've never felt so disrespected, depressed, anxious and miserable in my entire life. I'm not even 21. This place has literally sucked every ounce of happiness out of my soul. I've had to get a therapist, a stress dog, and I literally had to get my schedule moved around for work so that my clients can't hear the arguing or noise coming from the apartment above me. All of this I have related to the front desk and you know what they tell me. Keep reporting this to the police and keeping note. It's literally pathetic, just say you don't care and aren't going to do anything instead of that lol. What ever you do please do not move here for your mental sanity. Even if you don't have neighbors that are fighting each other, the appliances don't work. Our patio started leaking water from the wall a month after we moved in and we've had maintaince people in our apartment almost every month since then. It was so bad that the paint was chipping from the wall and from the floor of our patio. That situation was a whole issue because they were saying it was our fault that it was leaking. How is the neighbors above us, USED water leaking onto our patio our fault? And our dryer is constantly not working. Any over head cover whether that's under the microwave, or over the ac unit is popped out, and our screen/patio door wasn't even working when we first moved in. We also have to slam it to close it probably because it isn't on the door frame straight. This is what I mean by ghetto. Like where am I? Is the part of town really the run down part of Phoenix? And we keep having issues with the bathtubs where the fountain will get stuck so the only option you have it to take a shower since the stopper is stuck for the water. That's honestly fine but not when it comes to cleaning. Just don't move here. I didn't want to move here in the first place honestly, it's as run down as it looks. Just disgusting. And there's homeless people walking around the apartment and digging in the trash cans. Their gates also don't work as well, and that was the main concern we expressed when we looked at this place. They of course lied to us and said it should be done by the time we moved in. Parking will be a major issue for you if you work from 8-5pm. You will find no parking whatsoever and will have to park down the street or something. But good luck because my roommates car got broken into, my car got hit by my neighbor, and someone got their tires stolen out there car. So it's just not a safe thing to do overall. In conclusion, what ever you do. Do not move here. Save your money and move to a safer area or at least an apartment that cares a bit more about its tenets. read more

DO NOT RENT HERE!! I lived here for the past 7 months in Apt 1005 and parking is horrible. My husband has had to park towards the back of the apartment complex outside. And got towed. Not to mention the weird people near the trash bins lurking around. But as well as having roaches in my home. We had gotten the apartment sprayed three times and they kept coming out! I went into the office and told them about it. They said " they're going to start coming out because of the spraying and begin to die". That's a lie when roaches should have been all dead after 1 spray visit and that's it! Maybe that's because the company they use is cheap! Plus my apartment was one of the "premium renovated" so it shouldn't even be having those problem! It's definitely not worth what we are paying. NO ONE should be living that way EVER!! Plus front office is horrible has bad communication! I had cockroaches crawl on my Bed! Seen n some of my blankets, on my counter tops, walls and ceiling!. I had no idea where they were coming from. I had to continuously go to the office and to get them to get on top of things. Lizette the leasing manager, told me she was waiting for them to call, pest control, like if it was something to take so lightly and from my previous customer service experience and working in Realtors office you keep calling until you get them out there on the property to spray that same day. Not a week from that day like I had to wait because they come every Wednesday lmao. I lived near the front of the office and even on some occasions as I'm walking to my apartment, the buildings Lights were shut off... why?! I have no clue but I'm alone and it's dark and you never know who's lurking in the hallways. Even one day as I was at my home (where I should have the security for being comfy or in my underwear) my husband comes in mad saying men from the outside were staring. Not to mention my room blinds were completely closed. So lack of privacy there. They must get the blinds cheap or something because they will even break from opening the blinds. On some occasions in the bathroom, not sure why, I can smell smoke or weed. We don't even smoke in this house so not sure where that was coming from! The day the landscapers come they blow all the leaves into my patio. I know this because I'll sweep it out and it'll be there right after. They just need to be a little more careful is all. Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Don't waste your money here! I couldn't live like that anymore. I tried to do an emergency move out and they declined that, had me do a 30 day noticeable still live under the circumstances that I mentioned above. So I cleaned my house and got the carpets cleaned as well and they sit there and charge me a shit ton of money. They sent me pictures of them pulling back the carpet saying there was pee stains and a few other things. When we received our apartment ,and as you can see from previous people and reviews, the condition of the apartment when received was horrible compared to how we left our apartment. I'll attach pictures but they steal from you. They went the extra mile to not pay us our deposit back. The office people I cannot emphasize are rude and they act like it's for your best interest but it's not. They never follow through on anything. It was the WORST experience EVER! People rolling their eyes at you. Don't communicate as they should with you. And overall don't value you as a resident. Don't waste your time here I can't stress this enough. It's horrible. You get roaches, rat poop, poor customer service, rude employees, occasional hallway blackouts (making it unsafe), weird people lurking. Trash everywhere. And so much more. read more

While I'm lucky to not have an apartment infested with bugs, I can't say enough how miserable these apartments are. They're extremely expensive for the quality you get. (Example: my apartment is considered one of the newer, renovated ones and upon our move in last December, there were lots of things that were damaged lol) Second, people are constantly fighting and yelling about their dead beat boyfriends cheating on them. Dogs, specifically near buildings 103-106 are CONSTANTLY f*cking barking and when the office says they're going to address any noise complaints, they don't. Pretty sure Catie and all the other women are scared of 90% of the tenants and instead leave us to fend for ourselves. Safe to say I won't be renewing my lease. Also, most of the girls in the office gossip and stare at you. Especially Ailene, I'm pretty sure that's her name. Can really only say good things about Jessica, other than that, this place is a waste of money and will only keep you up at night in misery. Families, steer clear. Adding to my review because the manager messaged me and is treating my concerns as if they are made up. I didn't include this because regardless, it doesn't change the fact that I won't be renewing my lease but it seems I must make my disgust clear if this apartment won't make any changes other then fixing the holes in the ground or fixing the parking situation. At my previous apartment here, our downstairs neighbors were blasting music from 5pm-5am every single day. you can see how this can be extremely annoying especially when you have a baby. when we asked them to turn down the music, the dude tried to fight my husband. office told us to record any time he confronts us and Catie told us she didn't want to hear/see the videos/recordings and would only accept something from their security. Called security and the neighbor told them that it was a Saturday and lied saying he had it at minimal volume and security just accepted it and left. Made multiple calls to police (as advised to) and filed reports and nobody did anything even with that. I contacted the main Weidner office location, spoke to Maria and was able to move to a different building. Unfortunately, the joy of this was short lived (as mentioned above) because you have neighbors who pull into the complex blasting their car speakers at all times of day or fighting in the middle of the night/early in the morning. On site security would be more effective if there wasn't only one guard on duty. Again, steer clear if you have a family or just simply enjoy resting in peace while you are off work. There's a difference between living noise and full on disturbances. Rid this place of the ghetto please. read more

I moved here in the pandemic on 2020 and I wasn't allowed to see the place. My first year was great UNTIL I decide to renew. I have new neighbors and The walls are SUPER THIN! I literally hear my upstairs neighbor SNORE!!! You can hear them blasting music and coughing and a baby crying. I've even heard them flickering lights, closing doors. Their bed creaking, and their phone vibrating off the dresser (I kid you not). I've made numerous complaints because they stomp and blast music and nobody seemed to care. They rather have me file numerous complaints then to actually do something. All the recommendations they gave me involved ME paying even though I was heavily inconvenienced. I will be breaking my lease for the first time ever. ALSO if you have packages from USPS they will NOT deliver because the complex is "too big". You have to go during business hours and if you get off at 5 you have to wait until your day off or a Saturday. If you value your sanity do NOT move here. I called and asked if I could tour the 2br/2ba at 1004sqft. They made an appointment for me to view it today. I entered and they handed me a piece of paper and pointed as to where to go. I had a bit of issue seeing the numbers. There are no sidewalks outlining their parking lot making it difficult to walk about the community. While I was getting information 2 police officers were speaking with the property management. So my first impression of the apartment interior wasn't bad. The carpet seemed plush and lots of natural light. Then as I walk through a bunch of stuff stood out. The first bedroom didn't have a regular door, it had closet folding doors. The kitchen was in bad shape. The cabinets had been poorly painted with brown paint. It looks really bad, especially with upgraded appliances and counter tops. This screens "I'm cutting corners". The microwave wasn't even above the stove like the pictures online showed. They had this giant microwave occupying the limited counter space. Then I noticed that the unit only had one bathroom. This was not the unit I requested to see. When I addressed that with the leasing associate she said that the 2br/2ba wasn't available to tour right now. That's understandable. The person who I spoke with should have stated that because I was explicit that I wanted to see the model that I would be looking at renting. That's why I waited until Wednesday rather than coming in Monday. I will not take anyone's word that another model will be nicer. I looked at this property because I've toured other Weindner properties and liked the service and properties. Every other time we've been greeted enthusiastically and given a little folder with all the information. Then they would take us on a tour while answering our questions all while wearing a mask and keeping distance. Here I was just given a piece of paper and told to do it myself. After 2 1/2 years we decided to break our lease! I'll speak of the good things first. This is MY personal experience. Maintenance was always on top of their stuff, if we put in a request they were there that day or the next and they never gave us a hard time. Loved the modern look of the apartment but not every unit is updated! Loved how they had thankful Thursday and tried to put together activities for the complex community. But because it is an apartment we were constantly hearing our upstairs neighbors, so my suggestion is request the 3rd floor if your bothered by noise. The office sucks! I never called them unless I had to and even then I ALWAYS had an issue with miscommunication or them just not knowing what the fuck their doing. Parking is crap if you have 2 vehicles good luck buddy. You will see a few roaches during the summer but it not like infested. Our guest bathroom had a pipe in the shower that always leaked this nasty stuff. Obviously we saw our fair share of drama and cops. There are so many stray cats living here which I didn't mind at all but ya. This place is decent. I personally would have kept looking but I rushed into this place just because it LOOKED nice but please don't be fooled. If you're looking for an apartment good luck. I've lived here for just over a month now. It's not perfect but overall I'm very happy. The leasing staff and maintenance has been great. Anthony did an awesome job on the tour before I signed my lease. This is a nice community for the area. The appliances in my unit seem relatively new. Free breakfast for residents Monday through Friday is awesome! Cons: Parking situation is bad with limited uncovered parking if you plan to have a guest visit. I would be so interested in peeking into the apartment of the neighbors above me. Ever since the remodles were completed you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on up above you. You can hear the stomping around, things being slammed against walls/floors, people peeing, you can even hear the floors squeaking when they're having sex; which is actually funny to listen to how quickly its over. The remodeling has seemed to make everything echo so if you live below with anyone above you then you don't get much rest. I've lived in these apartments since November 2018. Motif Apartment Homes always have activities for their residents and foodies. They even cook breakfast every day MONDAY-FRIDAY! These are the best apartments I've lived in Phoenix, they have granite counter tops, new appliances, comes with washer and dryer, everything is renovated!! The best thing is they value every resident and you pay rent, maintenance requests through a resident portal app. And it's very easy and quick! Maintenance is very nice and they are fast when you need them. I never had a problem with my apartment and I am so happy to call MOTIF my home! There are some things that management is doing ok with but I honestly would not be renewing my lease next year. I've seen a lot over the last 3 years of living here but the worst part of everything are the people they contracted to do the renovations, a couple of their regular maintenance people, their front office staff & the constant issues with water leaks & shutting water down. Point in question....the leak that has been in front of my building for over a month now, if not longer. It's ridiculous. You are trying to turn the complex into something it's not, upscale. This apartment complex is the worst I've ever lived.. ive been here 2 months going on 3 and it's been a disaster from day one.. My apartment was not cleaned before I moved in and if it was they did a crappy job.. The carpet upon my move in was destroyed and they won't replace it.. I've posted pics of what comes out of my carpet every time I vacuum and its disgusting! I've talked to many people in this leasing office addressing these issues from the cleanliness to the crap coming out of the heating system to the mold growing on the bathroom walls to the carpet needing to be replaced.. the allowed a vendor to enter my apartment with out my consent to inspect my carpet and hes a carpet cleaner not a carpet inspector and he says the carpet doesn't need to be replaced but let the pics tell you what needs to be done!! This place is rotten and I'm looking for anyway to get the heck out of here I get lied to every time I talk to the office and maintenance manager hes a moron!! He told me in regard to the carpet and the amount of stuff that comes out of it everytime I vacuum is because this is Arizona and it's a dusty place lol moron.. Dont move in here!!! I usually do not leave reviews. However; I felt the need to provide my experience living here. First off, the price of rent is not worth it. They can't even tell you how much rent increased , it just goes up. The apartments are very old, can hear everything, old appliances, bad paint job . Some neighbors are very inconsiderate of noise with banging, stomping all odd hours at night and early mornings, sometimes ALL day.I will make many complaints via email, phone and text. No one ever answer the phone . So it's pointless to call, they will say came help , but never do with the issue of noise nuisance . This place will drive you insane, don't think you can have peace living here. I suggest do your research before moving here. I been wanting to break my lease multiple times. read more

If you value sleep at all, DON'T LIVE HERE. They literally always have some type of construction or remodeling going on, it always starts at 7 AM. And if you're lucky enough to be in a quiet (for now) building, they have the leaf blowers going every morning by 8 AM. I just want to know why it takes over an hour most morning to move on from outside my window. I work nights, and then try to spend my days doing coursework (online college), but have to seriously leave to get some peace and quiet for studying. THERE IS NEVER PARKING. You get one covered spot, so if you have more than one car, good luck. Come home after 5 and you'll be walking 5+ minutes from your parking spot. (And I live right across from 2 big uncovered parking lots- it's always full). Back to the remodeling. If you're unlucky enough to live in a building they are working on, they turn off the water frequently, and never tell you when. Once, I was literally mid shower and the water just stops. Imagine being cover in soap and not being able to rinse at all. I moved from a non renovated to a remodeled unit, and the remodeling work is done very poorly. They missed parts of the wall when painting. They never nailed down the tack strips (asked them to this twice before I got tired of pricking my toes and did it myself). When I moved in, the front door's insulation was completely trashed. If you need something fixed, you fill out a maintenance request. But don't expect them to fix it on the first time in your place. I had a broken A/C (in my renovated unit) and it took them about 5 requests before they finally took my wall apart and fixed it for real. There are ALWAYS cops here, and often helicopters circling the place. Once, cops pulled someone over into the complex, the man got out of his car, and hid inside somebody's unit! I woke up to screaming from the next door building in the middle of the night. I've lived here over a year, when I first moved in, there was a drive-by shooting outside my building. I once got swat teamed just leaving the complex, the cops thought I was hiding another runaway (like???). Location is convenient, right off I 17. Too bad it's such a bad area. There's a park right next to the complex- but there's always homeless people there, so maybe not the place for your kids alone. MMJ patients are specifically prohibited from medicating in their own homes here. The 4 pools are almost always dirty. The tap water here has a hard time getting cold. Not a lot of friendly people, sucks since the walls are so thin you hear everything they do. The leasing office doesn't help with anything. They obviously don't care for the environment, as they have chopped down many trees since I've lived here. And there are no recycling bins in the complex at all. read more

Motif is the worst apartment complex I have lived in. the incompetence and lack of cleanliness Is real. homeless people walk freely in and out digging through the trash 24/7 or just walking around the complex with backpacks. Yet the gates are NEVER operational. the management will send out an email about not feeding stray cats but allows homeless people to walk freely in the community. cars get towed if you happened to not put the tag on it. the apartment always have a stench and maintenance sits around chitchatting all day. I moved in to save money but it has not been worth it. I've only lived here 5 months and I have regretted each month. Pay a little more for something with 3stars or higher. It was an absolute circus from the very first day my roommate & I came to tour. There is never any parking to the point people are parking on the access road- which is causing them to get tow tickets put on their windows. I'm literally eating out again as I type this because I walked in my kitchen and AGAIN was greeted by multiple sized roaches like I am pretty much every single time I walk in the kitchen. It's literally roach infested and I couldn't keep it any cleaner then I do. Roaches in the kitchen, bathrooms and I even found one crawling on my bed. A little tiny baby one. What a joke of a apartment complex. Homeless walking around almost all hours of the day, if you decide to live in the 3rd floor your mailbox is all the way in the back of the complex. Nowhere near enough parking especially since other tenants leave their work trucks in uncovered spots and just swap their work cars & own vehicles so they basically always have 2 or 3 spots. Most of the office employees couldn't care less about you or your issues. My AC was leaking ALL SUMMER 2021 and they came out to "Fix" it twice, still leaking when I left. Told me gates would be working before 2022, still don't work obviously. They also raised the rent $400 this year for 0 reason, they have made no improvements to the property and they want more money? Save your money and rent elsewhere. Especially if you have dogs, they'll call you once a month to tell you your dogs are barking too much. They're dogs!! read more

If I could rate it 0 stars I would. Take your money elsewhere people, you're better off living somewhere else than here. There is so much and don't know where to start. From bugs, broken things that management wouldn't send someone to fix appliances, to people stealing things out of our truck, to getting the smell of weed through the vents knowing we don't smoke. We cut our contract in which we came to an agreement to pay a certain amount and be done with it. But after literally paying off everything we get call from a debt collector saying we haven't made no payments toward Motif Apartments. When we have the money order receipts of which we have made to the apartments and the lady upfront said she couldn't make a receipt, yet we get sent to collections and have to pay everything all over again.
