1.Worked on my 08 volvo and left rubber gasket off oil the filter cap cover causing it to leak. 2. My nephew went to them for inspection of a wheel issue and they said it was ok. He went back and they refused to check it again. So he had to go to another shop to fix it. 3. 3rd vechicle- my sisters chevy trax. They over tightened oil filter cap. While trying to do a simple oil change that I have done thousands time. Filter cap had had a slight crack on top of cap where a socket it used to remove cap because of over tightening. Attempted to remove it by unscrewing the cap counter clock wise. The cap was fused to the housing and cracked more while trying to turn it. For principle perposes I had them fix it. I was getting no where with it. Especially after the other incidentes with my car and my nephew's. It was a matter of principle. They turned around and said I tried to remove the entire filter housing completely which was a complete lie/a fabrication of the truth. It was a issue with over tightening the cap then not claiming responsibility or being liable for it. They did get it out and flushed it out with two oil changes, which I paid for. Do to debri from the broken cap. But to fabricate a story that I was trying to move the complete housing is dishonest and the other two incidences,I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Went to get my car inspected... the guy there stated my tail lights were illegal and my front plate mount was illegal. My tail lights were DOT certified and they didn't even bother to check. There's nothing Smokey about my taillights, they're black and they light up perfectly bright. Never had issues with police and he stated that cops are on the look out for those. Brought it to Joe and Perky's and what do ya know? It passed with no issues. If you're going to inspect cars, know how to inspect them. read more

My girlfriend brought my truck in to them for an inspection. I have no idea what their angle was or if they didn't feel like taking my money but they turned her away after driving all the way there because they can't do an inspection with my trailer hitch installed and the back seat must be completely empty. Having family in the state of mass who is a certified mass inspection center, there is nothing requiring either of these requests. This place took advantage of my son who is just learning how to take care of his car. He knew he needed new wiper blades and a horn so he left it with them. He realized that he wanted an estimate, obviously, before they did any work so when he called them they gave him an estimate plus they tacked on a $50 fee for checking out the car. This was never brought up when he dropped off the car even when he made it clear that he didn't know what to do. It seems like the business took advantage of a young person and that's a shame. The owner ended up screaming and yelling at my husband and my son and it didn't end very positive. We basically paid the fee because enough is enough. But I want to make sure other people don't get taken advantage of. read more

you need to know that jakob shurtleff is a crook. if he is going to screw someone over a $40 sale, imagine what he will do to your service repair. i sell new stihl parts on ebay. he purchased a carb and opened a return request stating that the carb was defective. i figured he mis diganosed an issue. no!! hes a parts thief!!! he returned a rusty carroded carb in its place. a few minutes of searching and i found his business. its definatly him with the same name and phone number. he shows to be employeed as a tech here......stay away from here to avoid being screwed over. read more

I was having an issue with the ECM on my 2007 Lincoln MKX. After having the original ECM repaired it failed and 2 subsequent remanufactured ECM's failed. The vehicle wouldn't start, not even an attempt to turn over, just silence when you turned the key. At this point even the dealer refused to diagnose it. Having no where to go I turned to Sparks Auto. I had the vehicle towed and within a few days my vehicle was working and the price for the repair was reasonable. One of the employees (jake) was kind enough to call AutoZone and have them replace the battery under warranty as AutoZone had deemed the battery ok. That's above and beyond service. I've been taking my car here for almost 3 years, and I always have a good experience with them. I never go here for inspection stickers or something simple like an oil change, but I will always go here for any other work. My car has been a pile of problems for the past two years, and Sparks has always been able to find the problem and fix it. There was one time when I had a check engine light on and it took a few tries to figure out what was causing the issue. Sparks never charged me for the extra labor after the first attempt to fix the issue that was causing the light to turn on (but they did still charge me for parts, which is totally understandable). Compared to other places that do car repairs, I find their prices comparable to other "not shady" car repair garages (Sparks is very by-the-book), and they warranty all of the work they do, which gives me peace of mind. I strongly recommend Sparks for car repairs, and I will continue to go back to them for as long as I live in the area, regardless of what car I own. read more

We did have a small problem with our windshield wiper replacement but Chris went more than out of his way to make it right. I was visiting from out of town, when I noticed radiator fluid leaking from my Jeep. I found Sparks Automotive on yelp! Glad I went there. They gave me an estimate and replaced the 17 year old radiator and hoses. The final cost was inline with the estimate. People were very nice and knowledgable! I hit a curb with my car and clearly bent something, the alignment shop couldn't tell me what was bent so I passed it off for a while. I came to sparks to replace a broken brake line because winter storm Nemo was approaching. Not only did they fix my brake line but they found what was bent and gave me a very reasonable price, after installing the new part found something else was slightly bent. Rather than order another part though the straightened it with their press and then adjusted my camber adjustment bolts I bought as a crutch. They did all those last things for free. My car finally drives straight and it was garaged during the storm. I can't recommend these guys more they're awesome! read more
