Sparkles has become my go-to car wash. The cleanliness of the bays is top notch. Everything is well maintained and there are plenty of bays available, which makes it convenience of my time. They also offer touchless car washes and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it performed. I found it did a better job than the CO-OP I used to frequent in the past. Thought I'd do a quick update. Since my last visit, the self wash bats have changed a bit. The system to select what you are washing with (soap, wax, rinse, brush, etc.) is now a switch and easier to operate than their previous touch key pad. You now have to start with a minimum of $2 and can add a $1 at a time. I prefer not having a minimum $ start amount as I'll often take a break for 30 seconds or so to switch between foam brush or rinse and now I feel a bit rushed to get my $'s worth. I realize it's a small $ amount but a change that costs me more in the long run regardless. read more

I've been going here for a while but today I had a very bad experience as the worker pressured me to leave by washing a car right next to me (with many other spots available), getting me very wet in -20 weather and telling me he needs to close up. i was there from 6-7 and they close at 8. I felt very mistreated and I won't go there again read more

The customer is always right, unless you go to the St. Albert Sparkle Car Wash! The machine malfunctioned on the second toonie and only gave me 30 seconds before the water pressure shut down to a trickle when I switched it to rinse. I waved the owner over to explain what happened and he pompously proceeded to tell me that I did not know how to use the car wash and tried mansplaining the process to me. I patiently tried to explain it again, because he didn't seem to understand. He just got mad (I've never seen him smile in all the years that my family has used this car wash.) He was talking to me like I was a dumb woman who has never used a car wash before, pointing out the picture instructions! Then he turned it on to show me how it takes a while for the soap to come out and sprayed the water on the ground for the full two minutes!!! When he first turned it on I thought that he was going to hand it over for me to finish cleaning my vehicle, but he yelled no at me and pushed my hand away. He told me that he didn't believe me and that I was lying. That is when I lost it on this chauvinist pig, there is no way he would have treated my husband that way! I've never yelled at a business owner in my life. All he needed to do was say I'm sorry and add one minute to my timer for me to get the soap off. Instead he wasted $2 worth of cold water down the drain and he lost three customers from our household! Don't bother with this cheap business, there are so many other better car washes in town that don't treat women like they are second rate customers. read more

I must say that The owner did make efforts to contact me and that is admirable. He was not the problem but an employee and we can't always be on hand to make sure things happen properly. I will give them a second chance but just not for a bit. I hope others have better expereinces due to the sharing of this last visit. :) read more

Best car wash in St. Albert! Tonight I wanted to run my car through the wash to get the winter grime off - knowing full well it would get dirty again on our slushy roads. So I purchased the cheap wash at one of their touchless bays. While sitting in the bay I noticed the owner staying at the end watching me go through. As I was leaving, he tapped on my window and said it didn't get the oil and grime off the back of my hatchback. So he says I should drive around to the wand bays so he can wash it himself! So he wand washes the rest that didn't come off, and then says, "okay let's run it through the touchless again." and pays for another touchless wash! Needless to say I was extremely impressed with his desire to help me get the cleanest car possible considering how dirty the roads are. Best service I've ever had at a car wash! read more

I think Sparkles is great. I have never had a problem there. Also remember you bubbled socialites of St. Albert, it's a business and they need to make money too. If it's too expensive buy your own equipment and clean your car yourself at home. Overall you will save more money and your car will be cleaned better. St. Albert is often on my way into the city from work and I frequently stop at Sparkle Car Wash to clean my vehicle. Always have had great service, never have to wait too long to get in and prices are reasonable! I am aware there has recently been a change of ownership/management and I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews since I believe they are doing a great job. Would recommend! read more

Cold water, poor pressure, not enough chemicals, relatively expensive and not well maintained. Heavy fog on cold days makes driving in there treacherous. Used to really like this place but it has gone down hill real bad in the last 12 months. Now bad enough I won't go back. read more

My company works in oil and gas production operations. We drive on some very poor roads, with lots of mud. We have 7 vehicles that are routinely washed at Sparkle, we typically spend in excess of $500. /mo at the that car wash. We have been bringing our vehicles exclusively to Sparkle for washing for the last two years, in that time we have noted a change in the operation of the car wash since ownership changed last year, but nothing really too bad (we find it's not as clean, the staff not quite as helpful (there are some language issues), but I still think it's a good facility, and the prices are still pretty good). Today the young man who works as an attendant at the car wash told me my truck was too dirty and muddy and suggested that I take it to Big Toys to wash it. He suggested it was too much work for him to clean the mud off the floor in the bay as he couldn't just wash it down into the sump. I would like to apologize to the management of Sparkle Car Wash, I didn't realize that we should only bring clean vehicles into the car wash. I'm sorry for bringing my muddy truck in, but don't worry, it probably won't happen again, not for my truck or any of the other six vehicles we own. I'm not very happy about being asked not to come to a car wash because my vehicle was too dirty - IT"S A CAR WASH! it's sole function is to clean vehicles. I'm pretty sure I can find somewhere else to take my vehicles, my mud, and my money. read more

I really prefer these types of car washes in general, but this car wash is especially convenient for not only people in this area but for people who work in and out of town. The people who work there are always nice to me too whenever I stop in :) read more

Went today and spent 14 bucks on an a Premium wash. The only Premium was the price. After I was done I gave it a once look over. Well the windshield was still dirty so was the hood of my truck. The box of the truck was still full of soap as there wasn't enough water to rinse it out. Then I looked up and saw the blowers were already going for 8 seconds before the so called rinse was going on. Then when I pulled up to the blowers, the middle one was pointed off to the left side not drying the truck. I spoke to the attendant about the issues ( that he already knew about the way he talked and pointed to the correct wash I had used). I was told to come back later to get more time next time. Been going here for years. Last week there hose fell off the rood and smashed the tonneau cover on my truck and put a dent in it. Gave them my information so their insurance could contact me to replace the $1200 tonneau cover their equipment damaged. Still havent heard from them. Like Sean W I used to go here whenever one of our two cars needed a wash. I was always pleased with the experience but not anymore. I was there last week and found the machines gave very little time for a toonie compared with my last time. Also, the water was cool and continued very little soap. It seems they have diluted the soap solutions and greatly reduced the time. read more

Sparkles is great, the previous owners sold it 6 months ago and it's still the same. However only issue I find is the service isn't the same as before. The reason that I think its different is because the old owner had his boys running it!! that makes a big difference. When family runs a business they give it all they got now its just some young kids running it. Nevertheless its still a great carwash better then 99 percent of the other carwashes out THERE. read more

I have gone to Sparkle for years but after my last two experiences...I'm done ! The time before this I left mad but this time was it for me. I pulled into a spot the I thought was clean but after settling in and getting my change out, unwrapping the hose for the vacuum. I go to the rear of my car and there is a big pile of mud that I have to dodge around. The vacuum was crappy. I wind back it up after doing the best I could do with what I had.. Then go on to the wash (the least it takes is a toonie but fine) I put in my toonie and then a second one cause it wasn't quite done enough for me before using the brush. I saw there was a timer stop so I thought I would stop it to put the wand back and get the brush in between. Well when I went to do this the timer would not stop when I pressed it. so had to wait before the timer ran out before switching to the brush. That was strike #2. I get the brush down put my money in go to soap up my car and hardly any soap comes out strike #3. I was always use to lots of soap. I struggled with what little soap did come out, Put the brush back got the wand to rinse off my car all the while telling myself I will never come back here again ! And I won't. !! There are plenty of other places to go. read more
