Smalltalk Speech Therapy is a game changer!! Last year, I sought out help for my 10 year old…read moredaughter that had been in speech therapy through the schools for 8+ years with some improvement and then some plateaus. I had one speech therapist (not at this clinic) tell me that my daughter had reached her potential with speech therapy services (which was devastating given she still had a significant lisp). I was referred to Smalltalk last May (2018) and from the first conversation with Holly Willis, I knew they were in it for the service of the child and this clinic was tremendously skilled. Holly listened to my concerns, sympathized with me and showed a genuine interest in what she could offer us in the form of therapy - it felt like she REALLY cared, not just business or trying to fit her into the schedule for the revenue. Holly really does care profoundly about every child she works with!! Holly paired my daughter with Trish because she felt it would be a good personality fit. Oh my goodness, was she so RIGHT!!!! Ms. Trish worked with my daughter consistently this past year starting at the very basic level and they clicked right from the start. Ms. Trish had to be very upfront with her sometime when she felt things were not progressing and she quickly got her back on track (this is HUGE, given working with a pre-teen is more challenging than when they are really little). My daughter made TREMENDOUS progress and I can honestly say that my daughter FINALLY does not have an articulation disorder!!!! EIGHT years of therapy and only ONE year with Ms. Trish and BOOM--- tremendous breakthrough and effective remediation! Why didn't I know about her earlier????!!!!! Ms. Trish was always available to assist with extra support via texts and have my daughter send her videos of her reading her homework assignment providing feedback right away. She changed things up as needed and was very flexible with our schedule. Trish showed a genuine interest and tender care of her both social/emotionally as well as helping her along the way gain the necessary skills to self-correct on her own and articulate with great confidence! The time and effort Trish spent with my daughter is priceless, she would do it in a heartbeat for yours too!! My daughter not only gained the confidence, support and lifelong skills, but she gained a friend and mentor. I have seen the profound difference Ms. Trish, Ms. Holly and all the practitioners at this clinic make every single day and I cannot thank them enough for the doors and opportunities they have opened up to my daughter!!

She clearly laid out the possibilities and limitations of this arrangement of this proposal and I was in. I've always been labeled a "picky eater" and though I never had issues with anorexia or bulimia and such, answering the "What do you want to eat?" question was filled with worry and struggle rooted in some childhood issues. Christian is providing a space where I feel safe to talk about my food issues and she helps me expand my toolbox to get confident and curious when it comes to mealtimes. Logically I understand a lot of what I could eat but putting it together to become a pretty bulletproof daily routine is something I desperately needed help with. Her insights and empathic guidance opens a new horizon for me and I've started seeing improvements in my habits right after our first session. She is super inspiring and I cannot wait to explore this new journey with her. I highly recommend her for you to work with. Life is so much simpler and easier as she breaks it down into bite-sized portions. Pun intended. :D

I said okay and asked whether they could reschedule him for another day during the week. She told me there was availability for OT tomorrow at 12:00 PM. Then, today at 12:11 PM, I received a call asking if I was coming to the appointment. I explained that they had canceled on me. Despite that, they still charged me a $100 no-show fee. What a scam. 1. This place seems heavily focused on charging fees. They charge a $100 no-show fee if you are just 8 minutes late. They conveniently call you right after the 8-minute mark and phrase it as a "reminder." 2. If you are even 5 minutes late picking up your child, they charge you additional fees. Meanwhile, their therapists are frequently more than 5 minutes late themselves. They have a predatory fee structure, and the management appears incompetent. Instead of properly investigating issues and improving their processes, they simply side with the receptionist.

Also, it's just amazing to see the other kiddos and parents we have met improve as well. A great place with an exceptional staff. I highly recommend. If you are, they are willing to adjust your treatment plan and work with you.

PARENTS BEWARE!!!! If you have a child who struggles with either sensory/motor skills/speech then…read moreyou likely are seeking support services at an establishment where their best interest is held in high regard. This is not that place. They have zero concern for your child's best interest and will falsely claim they are trying to serve patients when their entire goal is to collect claims and payment. Shady. NO ETHICS!!! Steer clear!! Do not expect to start service here and actually have it benefit your child in the long run. They want your money (or your ins) and nothing else. I can't believe these people think they're benefiting children with disabilities in any way. Backstory: I have two kids, one is 4 and needs OT for sensory processing struggles and my youngest is 2 who just started in preschool over the summer (I'm trying to avoid enrolling during cold and flu season). As any normal 2yr old does - my son starts school and brings home every imaginable virus on the planet and we battle it out for two months. Mind you, we have called Monkey Mouths EVERY SINGLE TIME we were sick and let them know what's going on. This place has the nerve to bring us in for a session and then abruptly say (as we are walking out the door) "by the way you are dismissed and we will not be seeing you again". WHAT?!?! First of all, you couldn't call and tell us this so we could discuss over the phone? You wanted to collect another claim. SO - Instead you have the nerve to say this in front of my child who is just becoming comfortable and familiar with the environment (autism). Then you have the nerve to say "if he's immuno-compromisd then look into at home services" he's not!!!! We have a kid who started school and it's the parents who keep getting sick and we don't want to come in with pink eye and a fever and infect YOU! We should bring him in when everyone is sick because if not then you don't get to collect your insurance claims?! They then had the nerve to say it was "unfortunate timing" that my youngest started in preschool. When is it ever a good time?! The person at the front desk is manipulative and won't tell you the truth about any of their poor business practices. You guys do a huge disservice to children with disabilities and should be ashamed. I hope these words keep you up at night.
