I brought my son to Frisco Neurofeedback to receive neurofeedback to help his ADHD. I determined it would be more cost and time efficient to rent the unit and do the sessions at home. Farhin took the time to show us how to use the program, gave us everything we would need to get started, and followed up to see how things were going. My son has been using the device since December and has shown some positive effects. He notices it specifically as it relates to his ability to concentrate while reading. He had been having trouble with tracking lines across a page. He also says he feels "calmer" (a kid of few words!) Since we had the device at home, I was also able to use it (unlimited during the rental!). I went into it with no expectations one way or the other. I really just wanted to use it as a way to force myself to sit still and meditate to get myself in a better spot overall after having experienced a few years of high stress due to a family health situation. What I have observed for myself after two months of very consistent use is that my anxiety is greatly reduced, my brain fog is down, and I feel like my brain isn't being "squeezed" anymore. I am thrilled with our results from Frisco Neurofeedback! Finding Farhin has been a lifesaver for our family! We had my 19 year old son and 13 year old daughter go through the sessions together. Their results have been obvious and so positive. My son struggles with ADD and Autism spectrum issues. He felt much more relaxed after the in person sessions. His ADD has lessened a great deal. Previous to the therapy he would struggle with conversations. He would try to tell us about his day and a maybe a story from work. I have to admit, I was skeptical of Neuro feedback. After trying some sessions I was pleasantly surprised to find I felt an improvement in my mental clarity. I am able to focus better and organize my thoughts more fluently. I continued the sessions for a couple more weeks and quickly realized I had a substantial decrease in my impulsive behaviors and thoughts. We are nearing the end of treatment with our son and have seen incredible results. He has struggled with impulsivity and focus which were are main reasons for starting neurofeedback. My doctor actually recommended neurofeedback after the Ambien I had been on for many years quit working, and everything else we tried didn't touch my insomnia at all. I could easily go 2-3 days without ANY sleep at all. Having been on some pretty large doses of various sleep medications, I was skeptical that neurofeedback would work for me, but I was desperate, so bit the bullet and decided to try it (warning - it's not cheap. BUT Frisco Neurofeedback is cheaper than some other places I talked to). After 20 sessions, I was sleeping a little better, usually 4-5 hours a night, so I decided to try 10 more sessions. And my gamble paid off! I have now completed 30 sessions and am sleeping 8 hours a night. I have not slept un-medicated in close to 20 years! Farhin should have 100 stars she is a lifesaver! I brought my suffering daughter to Farhin and she has returned to me, my bright, creative, beautiful daughter!! I had no idea how much Farhin would heal our family and how effective NF can be. I did NF & EMDR with my daughter and it has truly been life changing. My daughter has always struggled with ADHD but did not like the way traditional medications made her feel. Then, due to family trauma, she spent years battling debilitating anxiety and depression. Over the years, having tried multiple therapeutic interventions only to re-traumatize my daughter by reliving past experiences, which never helped her cope and move past the trauma. It seemed that my daughter would be lost forever to her debilitating anxiety and depression. After the first session she saw immediate relief and continues to improve after each session. She has been able to greatly reduce her medications and I'm confident that she will be completely off of them soon. I'm doing the sessions with my daughter and it has been an amazing bonding/healing experience for our relationship as well. I have even noticed an improvement in myself. Thru this experience I have recognized that I have much better coping skills in the face of things that in the past would have caused overwhelming stress. I called Frisco Neurofeedback and after speaking with Farhin several times, I decided to make an appointment to try the NF she offers. Farhin was very patient with my uncertainty. She was very easy to talk to, intuitive, knowledgeable and caring. I was looking for alternative methods to heal from trauma. Traditional methods were not working for me. The NF has made a noticeable shift in my thought process in 3 weeks. I am continuing the therapy for a total of 2 months to continue the process. Farhin has made suggestions of other therapy treatments I could benefit from and offered them at a reduced fee if not free at times so I could benefit from it.
