I'm a 9/11 and rape survivor and traveled from NYC to Texas to seek treatment after being disappointed by the lack of quality therapy there. At the time, PTSD was lacking in any meaningful treatment. Steven used traditional treatments along with unconventional ones to aid in my recovery. I wound up moving to Texas and continuing my therapies with Steven with great success. I cannot truly express my gratitude for his patience and understanding.

If you are looking for a therapist and/or are dealing with troubles that feel extremely overwhelming, take the step here, it's a good place to start. Steve is a friendly therapist who can tackle tough problems gracefully. He is responsive, empathic, professional and competent. I am real grateful for this place, intervening in my life..

I brought my son to Frisco Neurofeedback to receive neurofeedback to help his ADHD. I determined…read moreit would be more cost and time efficient to rent the unit and do the sessions at home. Farhin took the time to show us how to use the program, gave us everything we would need to get started, and followed up to see how things were going. My son has been using the device since December and has shown some positive effects. He notices it specifically as it relates to his ability to concentrate while reading. He had been having trouble with tracking lines across a page. He also says he feels "calmer" (a kid of few words!) Since we had the device at home, I was also able to use it (unlimited during the rental!). I went into it with no expectations one way or the other. I really just wanted to use it as a way to force myself to sit still and meditate to get myself in a better spot overall after having experienced a few years of high stress due to a family health situation. What I have observed for myself after two months of very consistent use is that my anxiety is greatly reduced, my brain fog is down, and I feel like my brain isn't being "squeezed" anymore. I am able to concentrate more at work. I very much look forward to the end of the day when I do my sessions - they are quite relaxing. I have already and would again recommend this program to friends!

Farhin has been so amazing for us and will guide you in the very best direction with all of her wisdom and expertise. It's hard for me to describe to friends what Neurofeedback is or does. I would describe in more detail what it has done for us, but it would be a novel.

I never actually saw her as a therapist, and I'm glad I didn't. She called me the day before my…read moreconsultation to go through a simple insurance questionnaire and ask about couples vs. individual therapy. I mentioned that I've done couples therapy before and have never had to use both insurances just to book an appointment. When I suggested the easiest way to avoid back and forth, she kept saying she wasn't sure how it worked and told me to call my provider. I said I'd just enter my insurance and see what it accepts -- and that didn't seem to go over well, because she started repeating herself like she was talking to a child and got a little passive aggressive. I called that out, and instead of acknowledging it, she said she was offended I even brought it up. As a therapist -- or really just as someone with basic self-awareness -- if that wasn't your intention, you apologize and adjust your tone. You don't double down. I work with kids and adults, so I understand how these dynamics work. But even over the phone, her energy felt aggressive, and nobody wants that from a therapist. I won't be booking with her. I'm sure she works fine with people who don't push back or who just accept that tone -- but she really needs to at least sound warm and understanding. When customer service is literally part of your job, keeping a friendly tone isn't optional

As parents, we knew it was time to find someone new when our daughter's anxiety and depression rapidly increased over the summer. Our daughter refused to go anywhere. But it had to be done. With a little research, we found board certified Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Shelley Byrd. Making an appointment was easy. Her office is located inside a Yeager building. You haven't experienced a stimulating environment until you've entered a Yeager building. Meeting Ms. Byrd was refreshing. First impressions meant everything to our daughter. She is young (anyone near 30 is young to us, lol). She is uniquely in touch with this generation and understands their stress. A huge plus for us. Our daughter definitely has a connection with her. Finding someone she could trust was so important. The dialogue between them is open, honest and upfront. And at each appointment, they set mutual goals together. And of course, educating me on her diagnosis and treatment plan is always part of the conversation. We've been under Ms. Byrd's care for over two months now and our daughter is on board and cooperating. Ms. Byrd's clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults with a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders. I encourage you to call and ask about how she can help with your situation. I'd also like to mention her multitasking office manager Nurse Leslie. She is "Wonder Woman". She spends quality time checking you in and she helps with anything you need. She is a patient soul.
