I had a hardwired Kidde smoke/CO detector that was beeping because of a low battery. I had to call…read moresomeone since the detector is 18' off the floor. I had disconnected the batter to try to stop the continuous beeping but it did not work. Toby from Expert Electric Tech arrived and immediately said I needed a new smoke/CO detector because the unit was beeping with the disconnected battery. He didn't even try to simply replace the battery. I was forced to do something to stop the beeping. Paid $549 for a new "lifetime" detector, mainly to make sure the beeping would stop. Put a new battery in the removed detector and it seemed to work fine. Called Kidde and confirmed I did not need a new detector since the model I had beeps until a fully charged battery is installed. I won't ever use this service again.
