We hired SPARK for a corporate event at Dos Pueblos Orchid Farms. It is a unique venue for a corporate event because the location does not have wifi, has bad cell service, and has minimal electrical outlets.  SPARK provided a very detailed quote and included things I forgot to even mention or didn't know we needed. They're very familiar with the venues in the area. They worked well based on the budget we had. Alex and his team also went to the venue for a site visit where we discovered a huge echo in the venue. They were creative and worked on ways to fix it. They also made sure our video wall wouldn't have a glare and we would have shading for when the sun hit directly on the greenhouse. Alex was also great as we had a bunch of performers who needed additional A/V support. He reached out to them and knew exactly what they needed. The team spent hours and hours setting up. It really was a huge production. On the day of, everything was great! The wifi went smoothly and the on-site techs were helpful. One thing to note is that our event was not completely waterproof so when it rained between day 1 and 2, SPARK had to make a few adjustments as some outlets weren't functioning and there was water on some things. They did so quickly before guests arrived. The before & after pictures don't even show all the work put into this! Alex and his team should have been hired for Fyre Fest because they are amazing with producing great events no matter what difficulties there are. read more

The lighting at our October wedding at Santa Barbara Women's club was so beautiful! It was pricey, however, we were smart with where we hung lights so we actually didn't need to get all they were proposing. We were very close to saying "no" to lights for budget reasons...but we are so glad we didn't. Even though we got married at 5pm and it was still light out, the rustic vibe was still very present. Then in the evening when people wanted to step outside from the reception for some fresh air, they were able to enjoy a cocktail (or two) under the gorgeous lighting! OMG! This company is AMAZING! I hold myself out to be a pretty creative person and I can't leave any party of mine undecorated. I wanted to give a rehearsal dinner for my son and his future bride and carry on the theme of "Kim Caught a Fisch" since our last name is Fischman. The kids chose the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum as their venue, and I wanted to continue the "fish theme". Calling Spark Creative Events was the best thing that I ever did. Stephanie, the creative mind behind this company did an amazing job with all of the restrictions that the Maritime Museum gave us. She transformed the room into an underwater palace filled with kelp and bubbles suspended from the ceiling and wavy ocean blue light, giving a feel of being under the water. The tables were decorated with fish bowls bowls filled with sea creatures, kelp and little bouys floating on the top. Each table was pin lit with pin lights hiding from above. The evening was magical. I would highly recommend this Santa Barbara company . I know they do a myriad of other types of events With the same creativity for everything. read more

Last month our daughter got married at the Alisal River Terrace in Solvang, California. Since the venue is outside we wanted lights. I called Spark and they were wonderful! Since they had worked at our venue numerous times before, it was quite easy to get what we wanted. They knew exactly how many lights and where to put them. As time for the wedding drew near, we realized that we would need a generator. I called over to Spark, and without hesitation, they added that to our order, knowing exactly what we needed. This is a difficult review to write... we had LBPS do lighting and sound for our wedding. It was a small wedding without a DJ. We just wanted music for background and then use ipad for some dancing. Lani (the owner) really knows how to work the lights and make any room look stunning. So no complaints there. The issue was with the sound system. The system worked through the dinner but at ~9pm, the main music component broke down. This was really upsetting. We didn't get to really dance at our wedding. We were sent $100 'refund' for the broken system but the damage was done... no music at the end of the wedding. read more

Worked with Spark for my wedding in Santa Barbara and the lighting was so lovely. I was almost not going to have any lights since I was worried about the budget, but I am so glad we got them! I ordered a few Chandeliers and some Marquee Lights for decor at our wedding at The Granada Theatre from SPARK. When I had any questions, they were super responsive and helpful. What blew my mind was when I walked into the theater and saw how perfectly everything was done! Everything looked just gorgeous. We had discussed hanging the marquee lights, but they ended up pinning them to the back of the theater which looked sooooo much better! SPARK was probably the vendor I had the least contact with in the months leading up to my wedding, to the point that I didn't even know their company name had changed (from LBPS to SPARK) until our wedding week. Despite that I had everything I wanted on the day of my reception and it was BEAUTIFUL. Our reception took place up at Godric's Grove in Elings Park. The reception site is naturally stunning; however it is not naturally lit for evening events. We wanted to find a company that would make our reception functionally lit, but also beautiful, and all for a reasonable price -pretty tall order. SPARK delivered on all counts. When SPARK provided us with their initial plan for lighting the grove we worked with them to modify the plan until it matched our vision and budgets. They were gracious and cooperative, which we appreciated greatly. We also rented a lounge set from them, which was a huge hit with our guests. My greatest regret is that I don't have more pictures of our deck from the reception. SPARK provided beautiful lanterns that created a magical quality when the sun went down. SPARK even set up when we weren't there since our ceremony was at a different venue. I remember showing up at our wedding reception and thinking - this can't be ours. It was so perfect and we truly did so little to make it happen. Overall they really helped create the most memorable reception venue for us and we could not recommend them more highly. read more

Hands down working with SPARK was the easiest part of wedding planning! Natalie and Cristal were SO responsive over email. In fact, that was our only form of communication, I've actually never met or have spoken with any at SPARK except over email and they executed everything to perfection! They were already familiar with our venue and we wanted string lights, up-lights, and lantern centerpieces. We didn't have a wedding coordinator or planner, but when we walked into that reception, everything was up, done and looked amazing! Our wedding had a tented reception in a (somewhat ugly) rented white tent because we had 300 people and it was outdoors in mid-December (rain!) ... but LBPS provided the perfect lighting and decor help to make the interior warm and inviting. Getting married on a ranch in the middle of nowhere is not easy. There's no electricity, no lights, no nothing. Lani fixed all that and then some. I may have underbudgeted at the beginning of the planning process for lights, but I realized that he knows what he is doing, and boy did he do an amazing job! The venue was literally a fairy tale once the sun went down. String lights everywhere, uplights on the barn, a chiffon entrance swagging the barn doors, chandeliers above the bar - it was truly magical, and I don't think anybody else could have done it for the price he did. He was extremely helpful in helping me cut down on unnecessary costs and helping me get the most effective bang for my buck. I wish I had pictures to post here, but I have to wait for them :) Everyone talked about how amazing the venue looked and I still can't get over it. One friend it said it looked like we were dancing in a JJ Abrams movie - it was just surreal and amazing.
