It's been pretty much everything promised. Full immersion Spanish. An involved staff with varied backgrounds and countries of origin provide a legitimate experience. Our son already knows Spanish, and I think that's so awesome - such a gift. Especially in Texas. He's also well on his way to being able to write his letters, which is pretty impressive for a 3-year old. They practice writing all the time - I love it. He knows how to write his name. Maybe that's unimpressive to some, but I'm impressed. And pleased. The staff is caring and present. It's like a family. Any concerns we've had were addressed immediately and professionally. Excellent customer service. Jenny, the principal, is really great. She has this place running like a well-oiled machine. Our son loves it there. He's always excited to go to school. The other kids seem excited to see him. The teachers seem to genuinely like him. And we LOVE the diversity in the classroom. Kids of various Latin backgrounds, white kids, black kids, Asian kids... wonderful mix of races. We loved his first "preschool" (pre-preschool), but it was pretty much White-Bread-McWhiteyson. Trying to think of any potential complaints... hmmm... well, the parking lot is super small and sucks, so be prepared to park on the street and walk a little (not far at all). That's normal there. Not a big deal. They use glitter in some art projects, and we all know glitter is the herpes of the art world. No need to spread that stuff around... Ah! The one thing I really dislike: uniforms. Our son has all these cool shirts that people give him, that he loves, and he only gets to wear them on weekends. Why do the kids need to wear a Spanish Schoolhouse shirt everyday? Seriously? What does it accomplish? That's the one thing that drives me crazy. But since it doesn't truly affect his education or overall experience, I'm leaving this at 5 stars. But I really do hate that he has to wear a uniform and I think there's ZERO reason for it at their young age. Call it 4.5 stars because I hate the uniforms rule. Seriously, I highly, highly recommend the Coppell SSH. They've got their game together. We toured the Castle Hills SSH too, and this was notably more impressive. We heard the same from other folks about the comparison - Coppell is where it's at! This place has it going ON! (The Castle Hills one seemed... less so.) Enjoy, amigos!

Also, one of the biggest ways they supported my son is their flexibility with his meals due to a milk protein allergy. They substitute what they can for him and I only bring in a couple of things every now and then to supplement. I'm finding out now that not all daycares are as accommodating! My oldest went to two other daycares and they were basically expensive-glorified babysitters. He was about 5 when he started PKK and all of the 5 years olds in his class knew their sight words, addition and subtraction. I felt guilty because he had a lot of catching up to do. His teacher, Mrs. P who is absolutely amazing worked with him to get him caught up to where the other kids were, and by the time he graduated he was ready for kindergarten. As for my little one he started a little after he turned one. He adjusted quickly, but a few years later COVID hits and we pull him out. While he was out, PKK scheduled zoom calls for my son and the other kids who were also at home, to see each other, sent multiple learning websites for the kids to continue learning, and his teacher worked with them as well. A year and a half passes us, we re-enrolled him Aug 2021 and he was not feeling daycare AT ALL! The owner Ms. Maria made it a point to come outside to get him from the car to reassure him school was ok. She still does this!!! I think the best part of his day is helping her make her morning coffee. It took him about 3 wks to adjust and now he wants to go to school on weekends ‍ which says a lot. Ok, moving onto breakfast and lunch. He no longer eats breakfast at home because he prefers to eat their breakfast and he brags about how Mrs. Maria is the best cook in the world!!! Yes, he actually said she cooks better than mom and dad! ‍ We all have choices in daycares, and we all want to make the best choice for our children. In my opinion this school is by far the best! I have many daycares close to home, even one less than a mile away, but I continue to drive 22 minutes because (1) I know my child is safe, (2) he's actually learning, (3) the class sizes way smaller, (4) my child is eating healthy food made with love by the owner, where other schools had my oldest son eating microwave lunches, and (5) the teachers know your child by name says a lot! I hope this review helps any mom or dad struggling to make a choice. I was nervous, but this has been the best experience and decision for our family!!!

She learned to wait her turn, the value of her peers, manners, and was potty trained. At the age of 3 she transitioned into the primary classroom. While the expectation was high, my child did not transition well. Rather than meet the child where they are and modify the program, they tried to modify my child. As a result she retaliated to the point that she was no longer "allowed" to participate with her peers for meals, or even playground time. It wasn't until we left CMS and I had her evaluated by educators far more experienced and qualified than the staff at CMS that I was reassured that she was just behaving poorly due to being in a stressful environment. My word of caution to other parents out there is that CMS is not a school of inclusion but rather exclusion. Maria Montessori would have never allowed for such a hostile "learning environment" or exclusive parameters from her "guide." I would definitely seek out other alternatives before enrolling at this school simply because of this experience.
