As a certified teacher with a degree in Education and experience working with the ages of infants…read moreto 21 years of age, the educational experience of my children is my utmost priority. My husband and I thoroughly looked into the early education options available in Denton, and we knew we wanted something different that a daycare. The methods of Montessori education are exactly what we believe to have allowed our children to flourish so well in their young ages. These methods are not what one will see in the typical preschool. There is a priority placed on independence and self-sufficiency. Children are allowed to improve in many skills and abilities. It goes above and beyond letters and numbers and sitting in a classroom quietly, but allows a safe environment for children to grow in their daily skills, gain confidence, sustain a natural love of learning, and develop a sincere belonging in community. Countryside Montessori School has always made this possible for our children, and we keep great peace of mind in knowing our children are safely cared for as they explore. Communication is frequent. There is transparency and connectivity for parents. They prioritize each student and the students as a whole. They truly are an extension of our family experience as opposed to something completely separate. It is incredible to see my children suddenly be able to take off their diapers and actually throw them away starting at 1.5 years of age. It is overwhelming to see my son accomplish tasks like cleaning his room, putting away his toys, helping with laundry, because he spills with pride in himself. My 1.5 year old daughter cleans up spills she makes and demonstrates sincere kindness to others. There is also little better than feigning ignorance and allowing my son to proudly show me where his locker is and how to put away his possessions on his own. When I drop off and pick up my son, I am able to witness him put away his possessions, go to a task that suits his interests, but also educates and challenges him. He doesn't need an adult to hold his hand through this process, though many are also readily available should he need help. My son can hold meaningful conversations with adults in ways I have yet to see from most children older than him in my time as a teacher. This school is different from other schools, and I love this about Countryside. This is the purpose of Montessori education. It is the reason my husband and I picked this school. This ownership and pride is the most invaluable thing Countryside Montessori offers to my children. Mrs. Fuess and the faculty here are always positively involved with the kids. I have personally witness a patience and attention with these children that I am amazed at knowing how challenging it can be to work with kids(as a parent I want to study their Jedi ways!). This school may not be what every parents wants. But for those looking for something that can support their children in these ways, they are an incredible resource and school. I know they have great ideas and possibilities for the future of the school as well which I look forward to!

Countryside is an amazing day care center! I work with six different parents who have taken their…read morechildren there and it was highly recommended to me by all of them. My daughter has been going there since she was just 3 months old and I'm so happy with how they care for her. Everyone seems happy to see her each morning and she smiles the minute she sees her teachers. The school is clean, well-organized, safe, and they plan so many fun activities for the children.

If you value your child's development and education, this place is phenomenal! It's not a daycare,…read moreit's a place your child will learn to be independent and confident in themself as an individual. We started at 11.5 months (tried nanny and a couple other schools before) and after 2 months she is walking into the school on her own, uses utensils, loves to listen to books being read to her, participates in class activists, and is a lot better at handling her emotions. This was the only school that was willing to accommodate my early potty training, and continue to work with her on it!The teacher to student ratios are better than i have ever seen and they ACTUALLY stick to them. (I never understood how a 5:1 ratio for infants is possible. 0-17 month group is 3:1 here) Every time I go to drop her off, I feel great about having my daughter attend the school. Teachers are so patient and loving!! I love all of them. The head of the school Brandy is amazing at communicating and makes everything easy. I drive 1.5 hours some days to get to work so I can keep her in this school.

I don't generally post negative reviews online, preferring to support businesses where I have had…read morepositive experiences. This is the exception. My son was enrolled in Guidepost Flower Mound's Spanish Immersion program for 18 months, and we rarely went more than a month without a major change or staff turnover. We stayed as long as we did because the Guides caring for our son were excellent, but they have all since left the school. Over time, it became apparent that there were significant issues behind the scenes. The atmosphere among staff often felt tense, and the administration was not transparent with families about changes affecting the school. Important decisions were typically communicated only after they had already been made. We ultimately decided to withdraw when the school announced the closure of the Spanish Immersion program. The announcement was sent to parents on a Friday evening and gave just two weeks' notice that children would be separated into existing classes. It offered only vague suggestions about future Spanish language instruction. There was no attempt to consult with parents beforehand, despite administrators stating the program had been under review for months. Attempts to seek clarification afterward were met with vague responses rather than clear answers. The final disappointment has been the handling of our deposit. In March, both the Head of School and administrators at TNC Schools confirmed in writing that our deposit would be returned. Several months later, we are still waiting. There has been no communication since March and no explanation for the delay. It is difficult to understand why a commitment made clearly and explicitly in writing has not been honored. Having toured many Montessori schools in the area, my impression is that Guidepost is priced as a premium option for local families. While every family must decide for themselves whether that cost is justified, our experience of constant staff turnover, program instability, poor communication, lack of transparency, and the school's failure to follow through on its written commitment to return our deposit did not reflect the level of professionalism and stability we expected. For those reasons, I cannot recommend the school to other families.
